Power sliding door failure on 2006 Dodge Caravan. After regular use of the power sliding door feature it no longer functions correctly. It stops after opening 6-8 inches and does the same when closing. This happens every time the door is operated and is a concern to me since I have small children that could become stuck between the door. The part that has most likely failed is the wire harness assembly with breaks in the wires. I believe this repair would cost around 300 dollars.

Symptoms of all 3 separate occurences are the same. For no apparent reason the door will remain locked and will not open with a remote entry system , with a key or manually from inside the car. The manual locking mechanism on the inside is physically jammed and will not respond to an unlocking action of any force. It occured to the drivers side door first around June '99, the passenger side front door around August '99 and today the passengers side cargo door. When it happened the first time in June I was unable to obtain an appointment within a reasonable time (was told they no longer take appts. And it's first come, first serve, may take one to three days). For that reason I took a crack at it myself by removing the part of the inner door panel that was accesible and awkwardly inspected the mechanism with a flashlight and dental mirror. If I remember correctly there are 2 solenoids and I could feel both of them energize when I operated the door mounted lock/unlock switch although neither one created any kind of linkage movement. After massaging the linkages and levers blindly for approx. 2 hrs. The door finally unlocked (reason unknown). When the front passenger door presented the same symptoms (noticed by primary driver ("the wife") ), it resolved itself by the end of the day after several trips around town and b4 I could check it out. Finally, this morning the pass. Side cargo door decided it was it's turn and currently remains in this state. I called the dealer tonight and they said they could look at it in the morning so I begrudgingly will not touch it. This irks me for 2 reasons, one is that they will have a much more unobstructed inspection because of the large open area around the door and secondly, I know I could probably figure this out in less time with a more concrete answer than I suspect I'll be given. Additional info that may be of importance and always a possibility is an after market remote starting module that is operated from a remote.
Door locks not functional. One fell inside door panel. The other jammed.
Customer rebate changed to 1000 dollars in the middle of a 750 dollar rebate program, to expire 1/4/99 I wrote to ask for the additional 250dollarchanged on 11/24/98. So far no response.

Power door lock on sliding door on passeger's side was faulty. Owner notes that all electric door locks are faulty. When vehicle reaches a certain speed, locks start to malfunction. Also door ajar, and light comes on when this occurs.
The sliding door power locks on the passenger side will not latch when closing unexpectedly. Also, windshield fogs up on passenger's side then on driver's side.
Right side sliding door: driving approximately 50mph and the door opened, hit brakes and door slammed shut, but did not latch. Took to dealer and they said it was the electric motor lock.
Sliding door rattles while driving over uneven surfaces. While door is rattling, dome light comes on, and door open indicator lights. Door is difficult to open from outside while door is in full open position. Door latch mechanism fell apart inside, so that inside door release does not function.
On the passenger's side sliding door the power locks do not work, when trying to lock the door with or without the ignition on the door can be opened from the outside. Please describe in detail.
Went to open the sliding door and the door fell off. Please give more detail.
After pressing switch to unlock doors, sliding door does not unlock, when child protection lock is on, very hard to open door, power locks seems to stick/jam.
