Other Fuel System Tank Filling/charging Problems of Dodge Caravan

After filling up my gas tank I drove away from the fuel place, and I was at a green light making a left turn and during the left turn my van stalled!! another time after this, directly after filling up gas I was idling at a red light not far from where I fueled up, when my van surged forward! this is apparently an "extended warranty" up to the 2005 Dodge Caravan for a faulty vapour/liquid separator valve that is built into the gas tank. I contacted Dodge and they said that because my van was a 2007 not a 2005 that they couldn't recall it. This is so extremely dangerous and unbelievable that they won't extend this warranty. Had someone been coming when I was turning left and my van stalled I would've been t-boned. All of this occurred on a city street.

When filling with gas the engine turns off while driving, this happened on a left turn with vehicles approaching, cars had to stop and help push van out of street. Luckily it did not cause an accident, had two young children in vehicle , very fortunate for the quick response of other drivers. Fuel reading wrong first time car shut off while driving showing 1/ 4 tank of gas. Now shuts off showing more than 3/4 tank of gas this happen on the highway, lost all power steering as well. Again I had two young children in car. Seat belt not working properly. Headlight very dim at night not good few for night time driving. This vehicle is becoming more unsafe to drive.

My van stalls everytime I fill up the tank. I do not tap off the tank I fill it till the handle clicks once and thats it. I have done a ton of research and found that its the fuel vapor separator. Then only way to fix said problem which is totally common on all chysler vans the way I am reading it is that I have to replace the entire fuel tank. It stalls after filling up and when I start to drive.

Every time I fill the gas tank, it will only take a few gallons before clicking the pump off. After filling tank, while driving, the engine cuts off, thereby cutting power steering and brakes. Check engine light comes on and when checked it says evap system.

Nearly every time we fill the gas tank up (not pumping in extra after it stops to "top it off," just stopping when it first clicks), the engine will die about 30-60 seconds after we start driving away, almost as if the engine has flooded or something. It seems to happen most frequently if I happen to let off the gas at any point during those first 30-60 seconds. After doing some research, it seems this is a more common issue than it should be, but, on more than one occasion, we have been pulling out of the gas station onto a busy street right when our van dies. Thankfully, this has never happened when a car is coming directly at us, but it's certainly a possibility with the way it continues to happen. Again, doing research on this make/model/year of Caravan has shown that it's not an uncommon occurrence, which I find particularly concerning. I would appreciate if something could be done about this so I can be sure my wife and children (not to mention myself if I'm driving, but I'm mostly worried about them) will be safe after filling up with gas in the future.

Everytime we fill up the car it stalls and dies when you drive away. The problem only happens when you fill up the car. The scariest time it cut out and stalled we had just filled up. We were at a stoplight turning left. You have to yield to the oncoming traffic (which has the right of way) which is traveling 55 mph. We pulled out to turn left the car died. And the oncoming traffic had to lock up there brakes and swerve to avoid hitting my family and I. We have been filling only half way up in gas tank around town. Which is really annoying. We just took a road trip and it was necessary to fill up all the way to make sure we had enough gas in between towns. We would have to get gas only were we could easily hop on and off the freeway. It would die as we pull out of the gas station. I would restart and drive away. It would than be fine on freeway. Once up to speed. This is a huge safety issue for obvious reasons. I hope that someone will figure out the root cause of this issue and no one gets injured from it. I called Dodge who said they had no reported issues of this problem. Please get to the bottom of this ASAP before someone gets hurt.

After filling up at gas station (dte showed 68mi) pulled onto street - engine sputtered and would hardly run. Next fillup - approximately 2 weeks later about same dte drove about 1/2 mile and vehicle stalled and difficult to get started. Very dangerous -to be in traffic and stall. Have read online - am not the only one this is happening to - something with a part in the gas tank that is not able to be replaced -only solution reported was to replace gas tank. Looks like this is issue on other Dodge products - sounds like design flaw - whatever it is it is very stressful for an older person driving in a high traffic area.

Vehicle sputters and stalls after filling tank with gas. This only happens when filling the tank full. It happens so frequently that we only fill up at gas stations that are off of side streets. That way when it stalls it's not in a main intersection. My mechanic said he has to replace the whole tank to fix the problem and said it's quite common. It's roughly $1000 in part's and labor.
