The vehicle is turning off completely ir dying when driving. This is happening multiple times. I have to coast safely to pull over, can barely steer to get off the road. This happened 3 times on the way to town. This is very dangerous, I was lucky that I was able to pull over. If I was on express way I would have been in a crash. I don't feel safe driving the car with it cutting off intermittently without any warning.

Van had engine stall while going down highway. Lost all power due to this. . Was only going about 45 so was able to maintain control and get to side of the road. Was in the rural area so traffic was light. . . Daughter and granddaughter was in van with me . . . This could have been tragic if I had been on interstate or on busy highway. . . Was told by machanic that fuel relay tipm gone out.

The van is having problems starting up it's like the starter is not getting enough fuel and my thermometer just went out one day my van would not work. I got home from work went in the house cam e back out to go to other store and the remote wouldn't work the vehicle I replaced the battery and it still didn't work so messed around with the fuse box and and after I done that it started right up I also had to bypass the tipm so that the van would start properly and not make my starter stick.
Vehicle converted by eldorado national salina kansas. I have a fleet of 530 minivans converted now called amerivan. We have had fuel leak complaints that generated NHTSA recall 16v222. The vehicle on this complaint blew a fuel line off the vehicle above the catalytic converter. Repairs outlined in 16v222 have not fixed the problem. The new failure happened June 22 2017. The vehicle was built after the release of 16v222. The vehicle was driving down a street on los angeles with passengers on board lost power. Tried to restart a puddle of fuel was under the vehicle. Driver called for a tow. This vehicle and many others in my fleet were built after 16v222. Eldorado national builds many of these low floor vehicles for the disabled community, further action needs to be taken to remedy the problem to include retrofitting vehicles back to 2011. This is an on going problem with eldorado converted minivans we have many I used the last major safety related failure as the incident date.

Fuel wiring harness is to close to exhaust caused melting of wires while going down the road. I noticed a burning smell in the cabin of Caravan. It happened approx. A mile from my house at approx 45mph and a strong odor of gas was noticeable. This is a serious issue that needs to be corrected. Vehicle began to stall coming up drive way. We still have the Caravan but have parked it. We believe when the melting occurred it caused other possible issues and are scared to have it fixed, not knowing what other issues this may have caused that we will not know until we are going down the road, it's not a risk I'm willing to take. . . Especially with gas being flammable and shortening of fuel electrical wires. That's a fire in the making, it's not worth risking our lives or anyone else's on road. I have seen several other complaints on review pages and mechanics blogs/posts. This seems to be a continuing issue that has not been addressed. I have seen that other year models were recalled due to the same issue but not the 2003 Dodge Caravan sport. Can you please investigate this matter? it could be a simple fix by moving wires away from exhaust but you are unaware that, it's a issue, until it happens. Because it not a visible harness that you can see just by raising hood. It's only when you have problems that you really get to looking and that's when you see it melted and burned with strong odor coming out from under hood when we checked it. Also catalytic converter was hot this should not be a consumer expense when it happens. Due to wires to close to exhaust it seems to be a issue for Dodge, since this is due to their fault and not the consumer, Dodge should be held accountable for cost when fuel harness wires melts and any further damage caused by the wires shortening out . This is a dangerous/serious issue that I hope can be addressed soon. . . Before a life is lost.
Engine light came on and the van stalled out.
Drivers seat was releasing and reclining, van door behind drivers seat completely came off the track and bent the railing and the black stopper came off, several times my engine light came on and I smelled gas on 1 incident and shortly after fixing it my engine light came on again. Trim on both sliding doors were coming off. Third bench seat was falling below other seat and was not even. All these happened during stationary.

Van stalls after refueling. Sometimes moving and have to pull to the side of the road.
Fuel rail is leaking gasoline. There is a pressure damper that is on the rail that is non serviceable and it is leaking fuel onto rail that is causing the smell to enter the cabin. Dealer says fuel rail needs to be replaced to effect proper repair. Fuel leaks any time engine is running.
Strong gas smell while driving and at stop. Lights turn on and off at will.

My 2010 Dodge grand Caravan stalls 5 to 10 times per week. It stalls at any speed and at any time (warm or cold). Since the Dodge dealership could not find the issue (hats off to their ineptitude), after further research, I learned the issue is due to failure of the totally integrated power module (tipm) and affects other Dodge/Chrysler products . See NHTSA action number: dp14004. However, NHTSA stance on this is ¿except insofar as the petitioner's contentions relate to the defect condition addressed by the Chrysler recalls, the factual bases of the petitioner's contentions that any further investigation is necessary are unsupported. In our view, additional investigation is unlikely to result in a finding that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists or a NHTSA order for the notification and remedy of a safety-related defect as alleged by the petitioner at the conclusion of the requested investigation. Therefore, in view of the need to allocate and prioritize NHTSA's limited resources to best accomplish the agency's safety mission, the petition is denied¿. This will only be resolved when someone dies or the NHTSA takes our ¿contentions¿ seriously.

September 7, 2015, was entering interstate, car continued to accelerate with accelerator depressed, pressing on brake was minimally functional, managed to get car on offramp and to parking lot, however brakes were extremely hot and brake light was on. Turned off the ignition, and restarted car. Accelerator was still depressed so turned car off. Came back after two hours and car functioned normally. Took car to Dodge service repair, showed a code p2299, brake pedal position-accelerator position, and code c0021 brake booster performance. Mechanic cleared codes, stated that handicapped hand controls were engineered improperly and allowed both brakes and accelerator to be used at same time. Service manager stated they had never heard of a wireless throttle body control problem and that I was the first to complain. Later stated that several other hand control units they had worked on functioned improperly. It was extremely evident they were covering a stuck throttle body problem that has been seen by a number of non-Dodge authorized mechanics.
The contact owns a 2002 Dodge Caravan. The contact stated that when the ignition was turned to the on position, there was a strong odor of fuel inside of the vehicle. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel injector hose was leaking and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.

I have a Dodge Caravan 2012 and taking it in for several electrical issues. When it was sent to the dallas Dodge in dallas, GA there was an issue with car killing two brand new batteries. Brought a third one and finally call to have it picked up so they could check it. He then called me and said it was the driver seat wiring systems and to fix it would by $500. 00. I advised him if that was the issue and it would be working properly go ahead. I picked up my car and got it home. The next morning the battery was dead. So I had it sent back to them and they check it again and did not find anything. I got it back the next day which was a Saturday after sitting there making sure they check everything. Basically they said the battery was dead and nothing was wrong. I told them if I had any issues I would bring it back on Monday. I advised I will remove the battery cable to at least go to church the next day. When I got home from church I did not take cable off and battery died again. So on Monday 8/17, I was at the dealership again. They said the put it on a computer system for several hours and only notice that my battery was have way drained. I still no answers to what caused it to drain. I notice that a motor in the rear area would not stop running. The car would completely turned off. No we notice that we having delays in starting the car like fuel is not get the engine. After a couple of minutes trying to start, it would stall out and then finally start. So again I had to take battery cable off until the next following Monday - 8/24, I this time they advised me it was the timp module and it will cost me $1000 to fix it. Me and family don't feel safe in the car, now we are experiencing stalling while we are driving. This is not good service if you know there is an issue and there is a recall for this part.
After refuelling it has been stalling. This has been in cold weather for a while. Now it is happening in warm weather.
Van wont start. After two weeks I have been told it was the tipm module that is defective and a estimate of over $1,200 to repair. I have seen all over the internet that this is a know problem to Chrysler. When is a recall going to be started?.
At about 140,000. Check engine light came on then off and on again. Replaced gas cap. Engine light still came off and on, one or other for extend time. Returned and after a check they said I needed to get it back when light was on. Fianlly last March at 153,000. I returned and they informed me it was my convertor. I feel that the convertor failed prematurely and after complaints did not get me any where with Dodge I am complaining that the part, which had not been damaged, fail prematurely and that it is a deective part.
Original owner of the vehicle. This is actually a report of 5-6 separate incidents of the same issue within a week's span. The engine of the vehicle suddenly shuts off while driving. It is instant and silent, with no pre-warning. Driver loses all power steering / brakes during the occurance. Last incident almost caused an accident when the vehicle's engine stalled and a following vehicle had to take action to avoid a collision. My wife and kids were in the van at the time of the incident. When it happens, the van always starts back up, but it has to be stationary and in-park. Vehicle was taken to the dealership on 01/23/15 for repair. Dealership indicated the egr valve and temperature sensor was faulty and has been a common problem for decades. This is the second temperature sensor that has been replaced by the dealer. Internet search confirms many issues such as this are evident on the road. Repair made 01/23/15 at a consumer cost of $513. 41. Our purchased extended warrnaty covered all of it, but $150. 00. I consider the issue, in regard to a dfmea format to be, loss of function which shall be a severity of 10 and an inverted delta by the manufacturer. I ask that NHTSA investigate this issue as my families well being was at stake this morning which does not sit lightly with me as a husband / father.
After refueling the car will stall out, usually this happens after a few minutes of driving. Car typically restarts and there is no other incident until refueling again. This has happened more than a dozen times.
After refueling our 2007 Dodge grand Caravan, it stalled after going less than a mile. We were making a turn at the time. We lost power steering since the engine stalled & the check oil light came on. We were able to get it to the side of the road. After turning it off for a little while, we got it to restart but after driving less than a mile & turning again, it stalled again. This has been happening after refueling off & on for the past six months. Once we were in an intersection & it happened. Thank goodness we got it restarted & out of the intersection. It was a very scary situation. We brought it to a Dodge dealership & they had never heard of the problem & didn't find anything wrong with it. We just don't know what we are to do at this point. I'm scared to drive it myself let alone let my 15 year old drive it with her learner's permit.
When accelerating from a stood or slow moving position, the van accelerates at a high speed causing the tires to spin. This is intermittent. It is particularly dangerous in the snow and ice.

The Dodge Caravan has a loud gasoline smell. I have taken this car to the Dodge dealer they told me it was a piece of broccoli found under the seat. Now the smell of gasoline is unbearable and every time I enter the vehicle it makes my skin break out in hives associated with anxiety because I think the car is going to explode. I took the car to outside dealers just to confirm I'm not crazy because the odor makes you sick. I complain about the gasoline smell I have been having for years each outside mechanic tells me the same story the car is a bomb you have a crack in your hubbing fuel line, supply line etc, the crack is internal on top of the fuel line and over time is expanding getting larger and that's how the smell keeps getting stronger ms. Hall this is a factory defect that will kill you. I contact Dodge corporate frantically in tears because I toe been putting my family at risk they had the audacity to tell me that they realize that it is a factory defect but not enough people have reported the problem I'm over my warranty by 15,000.
When starting the vehicle, the catalytic converter blew up and started making a strange noise. After picking it up from the shop, the mechanic told me that he just received another vehicle of my same make and model with the same problem. Hole on the neck of the unit.
I driving down street my van just die on me in middle of traffic. I try to give gas and it die on me again, I so scared . I have my kids in my van.
If the van is really low on gas and I fill it up completely, when I leave the station, by the first or second time I stop or really slow down the van will die. It must be filled completely though. I have been a couple places to get it checked out but can't find a problem. I try and make it die on me now before leaving the parking lot.
Vehicle started exhibiting problems in 2013. It would not start at random times for no reason. Towed to dealership where they diagnosed it as a battery problem and the battery was replaced. The problem persisted and we received replacement battery form the dealership. The car was it set warranty at the time. Now, 2015 the issues has aggravated. The car will start early in the morning but once turned off will not restart for hours at a time. Electrical is all working but car just won't start. Battery has been checked it is functional and working. We have expired our warranty and don't have the money to repair whatever the problem is.
