Every time I put any amount of fuel in my tank of my 2006 Dodge Caravan sxt there is a very strong smell of gas coming from the engine compartment and after the van starts it will always stall out within a minute or two of starting up. It will stall idling in park as well as when in gear and starting out at slow speed and up to 25 miles per hour. It occurs more often when the fuel tank reaches the full mark. I have had the fuel pump assembly replaced which did not change the problem.

The 2006 Dodge grand Caravan cannot be refueled at the gas station because of vapor not releasing in the gas tank. This is a common problem at the dealership and they want a large amount of money to replace the gas tank.
I have had to replace the fuel pump because the housing cracks and causes a fuel leak. The plastic tube from the gas tank to the fuel pump cracks and it is continually loose. The part cannot be fixed without replacing the fuel pump. This is extremely dangerous because the gas fumes are so close to the very hot exhaust pipe. Additionally I had to be very careful not to park my car in the garage because of the risk of fumes.
Gas gauge does not register the correct amount of gas. When the needle shows half a tank, tank is really empty. This problem caused driver to run out of gas. Problem was reported to the dealership. Problem has not been corrected.
