I got the car on 4/13/2025 from a Toyota dealership with about 31000 miles they told me the car fax showed the car had 2 owners a regular customer and another dealership, they also told me they change the battery but they failed to disclosed that they took the car to a body shop to fix a dent and to be repainted, by mistake they offered me the Toyota warranty 5 years or 60000 miles , on 8/10/25 while driving the car it caught on fire luckily nobody got injured , after putting the fire off the fire department told us the cause of it was an engine malfunction only after 4 months and with about 39000 miles ,from the pictures we suspect the fire started by the fuse box and now I'm looking for answers and who's responsible, the dealership, the previous owner or the manufacturer, the car got totaled.

My shifter is messing up again recall u4 I believe and my its a recall on my vehicle ive had this vehicle for 2 years they stated the previous owner already had repaired but im imforming them I am still having the issue my car will literally stop going in the middle of the highway. Ive almost been close to getting in a accident and all everyone can say is it has already been repaired but I want them to understand that it may was repaired but it wasnt done correctly because something is wrong with my shifter/trasmission and electrical system. Which are both two valid recalls that I have. My shifter just blinks out of nowhere and just will stop at any moment. If the person behind me wasnt paying attention I couldve died or been harm seriously due to this keep happening while I am driving on the highway.

When I start the car, it shuts off if I pushed the button to restart it, sounds like it’s double starting itself the only way that I can make it stop is by continuously hitting the button. The only way that I can restart. The car is if I open the driver‘s door, then hit the button to completely cut off the car shut the door hit the button again then the car will start. It’s like I have to reset it. It does it often has been for years when I take it to the mechanics or dealership they tell me to bring it up there when it’s doing it. That’s the only way that they can find out what the issue is, after this happens I’ll take it to the dealership and they find nothing they request for me to bring it when is doing that, but I never know when it’s going to happen until it does, but it doesn’t happen at the dealership. I have google this issue other Challengers are having this issue but again it can never be resolved because it doesn’t happen when you take it to the dealership I believe eventually this will mess up the engine or starter below is asking for a date this incident occurred it started in 2015 when I purchased the car this will happen here or there not that often but it is continuously a problem, over the years and getting worse.

One day after driving home from work there was a message that says low battery voltage on the instrument panel, then it went away. No other warning lights or problems. Ten more miles down the road the message says battery saver mode, reduced functions and then the car started to smoke, I am freaked out at this point praying to make it home safely. I arrive home and pull into driveway and then turn engine off and let it cool. Lift the hood and coolant has sprayed and spewed all over the engine compartment and is significantly reduced. Now parked, engine off the shift lights are still on and navigation panel and radio won't turn off. I had to unplug the battery completely and manually lock the car. The next day I replace the battery, check coolant, and allow car to warm up. No warning lights or messages. Then I start to drive and less than ten min, battery saver mode again, reduced function and power then engine smoking again, coolant spraying under hood and I have no idea what's wrong. Could it be the alternator, everything is still factory parts. Never happened when I changed the battery in 2022. This is scary.

Was driving and a tick was present then over heated sat on side of road until cooled down added coolant drove home . The next day car was drivable. Drove to school and car was sounding funny so took it to a repair shop and they told me the particular engine in the vehicle has a fuel efficient component where it shuts down the cylinders on the freeway, and the lifters are supposed to open, but our lifter did not open. It got stuck and grind the camshaft in the motor. Needless to say I had to have the car towed home. It’s just sitting in my parking lot. I tried calling Dodge. They wouldn’t help me. I tried calling multiple agencies to help. I looked up on the internet and there is multiple complaints about the same problem it’s called the hemi lift so hopefully one day this can be recalled because I’m still paying on the car. I had a year and a half. No one will help me. My kids were driving the car. What if the thing blew up on them on the freeway and somebody hit them because car wouldn’t move anymore . Or if they were taking the car through the desert and there is no phone calls and no one around. If they were going around corners of a mountain and just stopped on them or blew up because can’t drive the car anymore. Very bad and scary and sad that the builder of that motor won’t fix their mistake and leave countless people stranded and in a predicament.

I took my car to the mechanic because the car was leaking radiator fluid. In testing the car he found that the head gasket had blown. He confirmed this with a hydrocarbon test. The car has 72,000 miles on it. I am the original owner. After saving the money to get the head gasket done. I was driving the car around when it began to to run poorly. At idle it was running very badly. I took it back to the mechanic to see what this issue was. After doing some testing they started to take the camshaft out of the car. It came out in 2 pieces. My car has the 3. 6 in it. There is a class action lawsuit for this issue but because whatever part was linked to the lawsuit was not installed in my car I am not entitled to the fix. There are many more people with the same issue with the 3. 6 liter pentastar motor that I have had to go through after doing a bunch of research. This car is my dream car. I have taken excellent care of her. She has gotten oil changes religiously. I am at a complete loss as to how a camshaft can break. I have attached pictures of the camshaft and at the break you can see where there are defects in the metal causing it to break in two.

New vehicle lost appx 3. 5 qts of oil in appx 700 miles of driving, spraying undercarraige with oil, causing light smoke from striking exhaust, and leaving stains where parked. Appx 3oz of engine oil observed by me to accumulate in low area on top side of under engine front plastic fairing (I recommend a 1/4" drain hole in the low area to avoid accumulation of engine fluids in this area). Returned to dealer for repair. Repair diagnosis: front seal engine oil leak (per dealer repair info, non specific). Front seal(s) replaced. Service agent stated she had seen this before with this particular engine (v6 pentastar).

I need to address a serious issue regarding the car I purchased in 2020 from a private vendor. Upon taking the car to crown Dodge dealership in ventura county for repair, I had to pay roughly $700 out of pocket for the service and rented a car from hertz for the days I was without my car. However, upon receiving the car back, it still had unresolved issues with the electrical components and dashboard noise. It is unacceptable that the manager at the dealership did not prioritize my safety or the quality of the car I purchased. Since this car is my sole mode of transportation, I demand a prompt resolution to this matter. I expect immediate assistance in addressing these concerns. Thank you.

Center bond of crankshaft damper falling-off front of engines on the highway due to defective bonding material in manufacturing causing failure in rubber bonding. At highways speeds, a 10lb chunk of metal will fall-off hemi engines & create a flying projectile at other motorists on the road causing damage or death to other vehicles/drivers and/or pedestrians. Owners who are unaware of this safety-issue will be unaware that their crankshaft-damper has fallen off due to not realizing a piece of the engine is now missing, thus creating possibility of engine failure due to no vibration dampening any longer attached to the crankshaft pulley.

The transmission stalled after driving it for 4000 miles. The car has 9 codes associated with the anti lock brakes, electric power steering, and transmission control. The car is available for inspection. This car creates an unsafe condition for the driver whose anti lock brakes fail, and the fact that the transmission is bad.

Since the day of delivery, the 2018 Dodge Challenger I purchased from carvana has been non-operational due to a dead battery and significant engine problems. Despite multiple attempts to start the vehicle, it required towing to the dealer for repairs. Additionally, the car was delivered with illegally dark tint on all windows, including the front windshield, which is not compliant with California state regulations. These issues have rendered the vehicle unusable and have not been adequately addressed, posing safety and compliance concerns.

I purchased a Dodge 2023 Challenger srt hellcat widebody jailbreak with manual transmission in October 2023. In April of 2024 I noticed that the ac did not work when the vehicle was not in motion and the outside temperature was more than 90 degrees. I took it to a local dealer ship and they kept troubleshooting the vehicle with Dodge and could not fix the issue. Come to find out, all 2023 manual transmission Challenger hellcats have the same issue. This is effecting approximately 628+ vehicles. Dodge care states they are aware of the issue and are working on it internally, however no eta or timeline has been given to the customers of the affected vehicles. I experienced a catastrophic timing chain failure despite prior recall work being performed by Dodge that supposedly resolved their known timing chain issues with the 5. 7l hemi with automatic transmission. This failure occurred without any prior warning at a cruising speed of about 65 mph rendering the car undrivable. There were no warning lights, drivability issues, or signs of the impending failure. This is a well-maintained car with only 80,000 miles, never missing a required oil change and other maintenance tasks. Timing chains should not fail at such low milage - indeed, timing belts will last longer before they fail. This failure occurred on a major highway placing me and other motorists in danger from the car being unmovable and potentially causing a high-speed collision on a 70 mph highway. If this had occurred less than 0. 5 miles down the road, both shoulders of the roadway were closed due to road widening construction. A certified letter with pictures of the timing chain and timing chain guide failures with a receipt for associated repairs was sent the to the manufacturer in December 2023 but they have not given me the courtesy of a reply. The engine was replaced by an independent mechanic at an out-of-pocket cost of $13,217. 38 and the pictures were taken at that time by the repair shop.

The computer system has a malfunction I'm driving it says shifter service the shifter starts blinking red car wipers goes on car will shut off in traffic into anti theft mode and ask fir code and will not start it has happened 3 times or more within 30 days the has been in the shop 3 times within 30 days twice where I purchased it the car is not safe I'm scared for my life and others when operating this car as of today I'm afraid to drive my car and I've told asked the dealer for another car the first it happened. Here recently I couldn't stop the car my grandkids in the car on 20 west this started around November 29 and has been continuing I've reported to the dealer the bank that purchased the car for me and filed a claim with my insurance the car is not safe and I have receipts and a video to show and messages to the manager on duty and my salesperson.

On my way to work on 9/28/23 my 2019 Dodge Challenger hellcat redeye engine just shut off at 65mph. I was in the left lane by the wall on i45 heading northbound. I instantly had a loss of power steering and braking. The engine just shut off. A check engine light came on and the dash said shift I to park to start. I was successfully able to get across 4 lanes of traffic to stop on the apron between o ram and side of freeway. When I shifted to park and to try to restart it would not start. Had to be towed to dealership where upon inspection they said the motor was locked. When broken down a valve just dropped into the cylinder and jammed into the piston and cylinder wall. Pieces also damaged the head and the supercharger and dealer says starter is fried. Mopar is digging in and acting like this isn’t an issue but online there are several class actions and forums about defective valve system in these engines. Had I been a novice driver or my wife with children jn the car she would likely not been able to get off to a safe place and stalled dead in the fast lane of a very busy houston roadway.

I bought this vehicle after only having 28,000 miles on it required the water pump to be replaced. That should not be the case. The vehicle started running hot again after having the original water pump replaced about a year ago. At this point I had only put an additional 12,000 miles on the vehicle. Now the company that put the water pump on is saying I need a new engine on a vehicle that only has 40,000 miles on it. This should not be the case and I'd like the NHTSA look into this as a faulty engine from the manufacturer.

Have had several Dodge chargers and Challengers and oil cooler fails too soon I believe way to expensive to fix so soon in my opinion all it takes is for someone to over torque the oil filter cap during oil changes so many times and I believe starts the problem not including how cheap looking the oil cooler seems currently have a 2019 Challenger sxt awd and just noticed oil resting in the valley of the oil cooler here we go again same problem over and over again.

Was getting on freeway and hit the gas to accelerate and get ahead of the traffic. The Challenger would not accelerate fast (has a hemi) and car almost flew into me. Started testing the vehicle and it just wouldn't accelerate fast, it was stall slowly and pickup speed over 30 seconds or so. I brought it in to one shop and they said its probably a software update and to take it to Dodge and it should be free. Dodge told me it's probably not software, kept my car for 5 days and told me it was a software update and that they updated it for free but still charged me $175 for the "diagnosis" when I told them exactly what the issue was. And now that I got it back, it gets stuck in reverse, you have to turn the vehcile off and wait and start it again then it works. At a red light turn yesterday, it wouldn't drive forward and the "d" for drive started flashing.

I was entering onto the highway and accelerating up to speed. When the car suddenly jerked multiple times, the vehicle did not accelerate, but the rpms redlined. I then lost power while entering the highway. The vehicle would not restart, so I pulled onto the shoulder of the interstate. Almost being hit multiple times by other motor vehicles. I attempted to restart the car without any success. The vehicle was towed home to my residency, until I could have it towed to a mechanics shop for further diagnoise. The vehicle has not restarted in over 3 weeks now.

Car randomly stalls while driving. Does not show check engine light, nor have any codes been recorded as checked by dealer obd reader. 2 Dodge dealerships unable to diagnose because of no codes. Both dealerships claim they have not heard of this problem before I appeared. I saw in online forums that other owners have been dealing with this issue since at least 2011, so it appears the manufacturer is ducking their responsibility.

The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the water pump was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the thermostat was replaced three times on three different occasions; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to dealer, who informed the contact that the thermostat continuously failed due to the vehicle overheating; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

My car only has 70. 000 mi and the engine blew up.
