The gen iii hemi has an inherent design flaw in which the rollers making contact with the camshaft will fail, causing damage to the camshaft and causing the engine to misfire. This is due to the camshaft being moved away from the crankshaft as it causes oil starvation. After extensive research it appears to affect cars of various miles and workload. There is no single cause that makes this happen other than a grievous design flaw. The main complaint is that you experience total power loss at higher revs, making it dangerous to drive on the interstate or attempting to merge into traffics as the engine begins to shudder and lose most power. Whether it’s 40k miles or 110k miles, the flaw does not discriminate. After numerous attempts to reach Chrysler technical service on how to prevent this, I’ve been ignored and case numbers deleted. Now this is very important. This causes a misfire which not only destroys catalytic converters, but arrives with no notice. It’s very possible someone may be attempting to pass someone on the interstate and suddenly lose power. My mechanic inspected it and confirmed that the rollers failed, causing causing lifters to not make proper clearance. This needs to be investigated as this engine is in millions of cars. And even if 1% of these failure occur on an interstate, the potential for fatalities is absolutely nothing to ignore. I kindly ask that this matter be investigated. As not everyone can afford the 5k to fix this problem like I can. And due to its high prevalence in trucks, this could cause those who use their trucks for work to be put in a tight spot. I understand normal wear and tear, but by no means should a cam and valve train fail this soon in a car. Giving the gen iii hemi by Chrysler and their infamous timing chain defect, I believe this is also a dangerous flaw and something Chrysler ignored. Hoping it would outlast warranties. Best regards.

Speedometer is messed up and not working properly what should I do?.

Challenger less than a week from the dealership and less than 1,000 miles. Catastrophic fuel pump failure while driving, unable to recover. Rear view back up camera freezes and stutters causing safety issues. Radio volume constantly changes while driving and leads to distraction safety issues. Door locks are consistently unreliable, roughly 25% chance of door lock failure. Key fob not detected and electronic security lock down issues. Uconnect freezing and stuttering causing delays in back up camera and other functions causing safety concerns.

I took my car to the dealer for recalls they didn’t fix anything they left my car out in the rain the hood up and choppa had my car for a whole month did any nothing they were very courteous no customer assistance nothing.

The car has an intermittent issue where at highway speeds it will go into almost a limp mode. Basically the check engine light comes on and car loses power and won't go over 45 mph. I have to pull over and shut car off. It will restart and operate normally for a random period of time. Very dangerous when on the highway and have to pull over to the side of the road. From the forums I belong to, this is a very common problem. There are even members that have bought a brand new Challenger and had this happen to them after a few months. The code that usually appears from this is misfire on cylinder 1 and even the dealerships don't know what causes it and hard to diagnose since it happens randomly. Love the car but very annoyed that this keeps happening and no one can figure out the fix.

My car keeps going from 60 or however fast I'm driving to smoking tires and my car is halted causing me to almost wreck way too many times.

My mileage time ometer keeps jumping from 56000 to 68000 time belt. My car is fairly new. This vehicle should not be doing this. The break I use to start the car nearly starts it. The breaks is not connected to the fuel pump correctly.

At less than 70k miles, with full periodic servicing done by Dodge dealer (moss bros, san bernardino, CA) all 12 engine rocker arm mounts failed and had to be replaced at a cost of $1,600. This is a common problem in a 3. 6l pentastar v-6 engine, per internet owner reports on Dodge internet groups. Not caused by normal wear and tear, shouldn't be happening at 60-70k miles.

2 issues here. Recalls are for ub4 evaporative emissions canister and v86 catalytic converter. Been trying to schedule this for 8 months. Fca and Dodge have a supply issue. Cannot get parts. Imo this is a massive failure. How are we supposed to comply if the company cannot issue parts? it is beyond ridiculous.

I owned a 2017 Dodge Challenger which had electrical issues and a defective uconnect radio system. A few months after purchasing the 2019 Dodge Challenger, I experienced electrical issues. The electric key system failed locking me outside of the vehicle while pumping gas. I had to enter the vehicle from the passenger side door. When I tried to exit the vehicle, I could not open the door. I had to climb over the center console to exit the vehicle from the passenger side. The key fab battery was replaced but the issue continued. The rear/front suspension failed in 2020. The westbury service department blew my alternator servicing while replacing the radiator and fixing the electrical issue with uconnect. The driver's side window would not roll down. It was stuck down in 2021. The door panel switches were replaced. The door issue was not resolved. I randomly remained locked out of the vehicle. I complained that the heat would turn on randomly inside of the vehicle. My headlights stopped working twice and my light bulbs were replaced although the bulbs were good. I couldn't see the road in front of me at night and almost drove off of a cliff. The radio/gps/bluetooth system continuously failed ten times. The service department replaced the radio. And amplifiers twice, although they were in working condition. This did not resolve the issue. The jamaica service department explained that the issues that have been occurring are electrical and tried replacing the fuses to fix the reoccurring issues. When I bought the car to them to fix the radio issue in 2024 my charging and usb ports stopped working. The fuse issue has since caused other safety hazards. They replaced the fuses several times and have explained that the entire electrical component "body harness wiring" must be replaced. I should not be responsible for replacing this part. When I bought the vehicle in for electrical issues while it was under warranty it should have been fixed immediately.

Left cylinder head was replaced under manufacturer's warranty at 144,xxx oct 18 2018. Cylinder head was replaced again under the same warranty at 160xxx September 2020. After repair dealer stated that the right head had a leak and needed to be diagnosed. Chrysler authorizes 9 hours of service labor for diagnosis under extended warranty x56 . The warranty also authorizes replacement of the right head cover and gasket if required. When I brought up this fine print to the dealer I was told by the dealer that Chrysler would not cover anything else. It took calling for over a month straight for them to finally authorize the warranty work based on the updated 2014 bulletin that added the right side to the warranty. I was told I had to pay out of pocket 2000$ to diagnose the problem. Even though it was covered under warranty they told me it wasnt. I agreed to pay and they refused to take the car in. I asked them to put it in writing that they wouldn't cover it under warranty and I was told I was not welcome there. I am a disabled army veteran and I use driving as my therapy. My car has been non op for over a month now. Now that Chrysler has verified everything I have said the whole time it's too late because now the dealerships around town wont touch the car based on the belief Chrysler wont cover it. Chrysler said to me tons of times that I was out of warranty. It took them finding the updated bulletin. I dont blame the dealerships I blame Chrysler. How can you replace one head at 144k and expect the old head to work well with it. The left head is a way to get people in the shop for a free left side head that causes more damage. It's like putting an old tire with a new one. There should be a recall asking for replacement of both heads. Chrysler claimed it doesn't cause the vehicles to fail and it does like mine did on the freeway while driving.

The car is a 5. 7 6 speed Dodge Challenger, when driving the car will not idle down when you take your foot off the gas pedal, this happens during shifts where the idle stays up and keeps the car moving forward, it also will not slow down when you are driving at speed and you lift your foot off the gas pedal, the idle will hang at speed for up to 5 blocks unless the brakes are applied, 3 times I have almost been in an accident because of this. The problem has been confirmed by the Dodge dealer and a number of parts replaces with no resolve, the car was in their shop for 9 weeks before they gave it back, it started doing it again within days, they have had the car for 15 week now and counting, (total to date 24 weeks) the car only has 8000 miles on it, I bought it brand new and have not been able to drive the car due to it being unsafe. There are no warning lamps or messages and from what im told only the dealer level has inspected the car.

Tl-the contact owns a 2019 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that when backing up his vehicle to park it jolted backwards. Then several indicator lights came on including the service shifter,service transmission, service engine, and the park car and turn off the engine. The gears were stuck in the park position and the engine was still running. The dealer bravo Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram of alhambra 1100 w main st, alhambra, CA 91801 (626) 283-5212 refused to help tow the vehicle. Two days later the dealer called back and asked the contact to pick up the vehicle and said there was nothing wrong. The contact picked up the vehicle and the same issue occured with all of the lights flashing. The contact stated the steering wheel was hard to control and recored the event. The contact slowly drove the vehicle back to the dealer. Three days later they found out there was a tracking device. They did not inform the contact at the time he bought the vehicle back in 05/2019. The tracking device destroyed the wiring in the vehicle . The dealer stated that they were going to remove the tracker and repair the wiring. The contact had informed the manufacturer and he was given a case number. The dealer finished the repairs and the contact retrieved his vehicle on 01/04/20. The same issue occured again while the contact was driving and he almost got into an accident. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The dealer test drove the vehicle for an extended mileage for over 100 miles . The issue occured again during the test drive. The dealer stated that the entire wiring system had to be fixed. The contact no longer wants to lease the vehicle and stated that fact to both the dealer and manufacturer. The failure mileage was 5,750. Tf.

Faulty lifters have damaged the camshaft, causing misfiring and thousands of dollars of repair costs for a car with only 76,000 miles. Lifters are on back order for 6-8 months.

Cylinder 2 misfire culminated in a diagnoses of a chewed camshaft. Known but unacknowledged issue with poor lubrication to the lifters -- owner normally forced to pay for camshaft and lifter replacement.

The timing chain broke for the second time. It broke the first time at 65k+ miles. It was fixed (of much damage) via the po1 customer care "recall". Now it's at approx. 104k miles, it's the same problem and Chrysler denied taking responsibility and my claim.

Ttl-the contact owns a 2014 Dodge challeger. The contact stated that the cruise control failed to disengage when the contact foot was on brake pedal or when applying the cruise control button. The contact was driving at 65mph. The rpm increase and the speed creased to 114mph. The contact was able to pull over onto the road side and disconnented the cruise control and when the contact was able to proceed driving without the cruise control on the vehicle proceeded to accelerated and decelerated simultaneously. The vehicle was taken to an unknown mechanic for inspection and the mechanic advised that power train control module and the alternator gearnator regulator failed. The manufacturer was contacted. The manufacturer advised that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaing number 18e053000 (cruise control) and NHTSA campaing number 17v741000 (alternator) the manufacturer provided the contact case number 64720021. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 91,099. Li.

Issues with fuel. Having to constantly replace fuel cap. Clutch gets stuck.

The engine dies randomly sometimes right after starting and sometimes at road and/or highway speed's it will readily restart with the key and run fine until the next random act. It has died at least a dozen times in the last six months once in a curve that caused the car to drift in on coming traffic before I was able to restart it luckily there was no opposing traffic. It shows no engine codes.

The icon came on to tell me service immediately, it's bogging down when it's in gear and the motor is extremely hot.

Hello so I was going through drivethru and all of a sudden the car started rubbling and it stop and didn't know to do because I was stuck in the middle. So I turnt off the car and turnt it back on and it wouldn't start it will just make the rubbling sound I did a jump and still nothing at all.

The dashbord says that the transmission needs service. I put the car on park, it starts blinking saying car not on park and once I take my foot off the brake the engine turns off. Plus the switch stays on so I had to unhook the battery.

Driving home in rain and got off highway service ramp. As soon as I turned right the car died. It said my key fob battery was low and would not restart. My son brought up my other key fob and it still would not start. No warning whatsoever came on stating anything was wrong. Could not get car in neutral even after releasing the shift inner lock. It had to be towed to my house.

Lifter noise very bad after sitting still ticks when warm was told by Dodge they all do that.

Purchased the car brand new with 992 miles put on by the dealership owner (that's what I was told). Drove the car 8 hours, spent the night in hotel; left the next morning and at odometer 1626 going 75mph on the interstate the engine blew up. I was able to control the vehicle and bring it safely to the shoulder but all the engine oil had covered the roadway and metal pieces. Looked under car and saw part of a connecting rod hanging out of the oil pan.

Hear a tapping in the engine so I took it to the dealership and they told me that the lifters need to be replaced and that my warranty expired 2 months ago. They also said that if I keep driving it the cam shaft will break and motor will seize and they also told me they are having a lot of these 5. 7 liter engines with the same problem.

Mopar safety recall for alternator diode is not being checked or repaired by my local dealership. Fuel leak: I have noticeable amount of fuel leaking from beneath my car. I brought the car into the local dealership and are telling me that a need a new fuel tank on a2014 Dodge Challenger with 33k original miles. The fuel leak is visible while the vehicle is stationary and you can smell gas while driving.
