3 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2019 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 01/22/2020

The rear brake pads do not sweep the entire surface of the rear rotors. Nearly 25% of the rear rotor is not in contact with the rear brake pads. This diminishes braking force and makes the rear rotor incompatible with currently available replacement pads. This defect is visually apparent when the car is stationary. It also impacts the vehicles ability to come to a stop while in motion. I suspect that the wrong parts were installed by the manufacturer or there is a manufacturing defect present.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2019 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 10/25/2019

The rear brake pads do not fit correctly, they are undersized. There is a large portion of the rear rotor that is not in contact with the pad. This is causing damage and premature wear to the brake rotors.

5 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2017 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 07/19/2018

Brand new vehicle has been brought to the dealer multiple times for break problems and suspension problems. More than one certified dealer have replaced drums, break pads and tie-rod bushing without any success. The car severely shakes at the front suspension system when breaking, particularly at highway speeds and coming down hills. The car has been at the car dealer(s) for as long as over a month on multiple occasions. A drumming sound can be hear when vehicle is experiencing these symptoms. To the dealer's response (fremont cdjr) no problems are found. Lame excuses I have heard from the service department: ed morga/service and parts director; stanley fisher/service advisor and others state that there are not problems; that the vehicle is too heavy for this type of breaking; noise will go away once the parts warm-up; serpentine belt and others. On the other hand, service technicians such as michael tuttle/shop foreman; jonathan samuth/ service technician and others have driven the car alone with me for testing; and corroborating such problems to exist. These problems have been addressed to the dealer since the service on with 18,1403 miles. Vehicle has now 60,123 miles and the problems never fixed. A care case was filed with Ford motor company without any success (care case # 7630612). Also the electronic system fails. All dashboard lights and commands lock/freeze or disappear without warning, affecting the vehicle's functionality. Dealer states that this is a software update issue. Never got it resolved either. I'm desperately seeking your help since I don't know where else to turn for assistance. These are very serious safety concerns that the dealer has taking for granted. Safety concerns that may await a tragedy for me and my family as well as other vehicles on the road. Please assist. Regards, salvador barrios (510) 776-7759 chbarrios@hotmail. Com.

6 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2011 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 09/01/2016

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Charger. While approaching a stop, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the pedal would stick to the floorboard. The failure was experienced numerous times. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The brake pedal had to be depressed several times to regain brake function. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but no brake failures were found. The mechanic recommended that the rotors and brake pads be replaced. The rotors and brake pads were replaced, but the failure continued. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.

7 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2007 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 07/20/2015

The rear brakes are going through routers and brake pads extensively. The reason why this is happening is still unknown. Wanted to make you aware of this issue, and make sure this problem has nothing to do with the abs recall.

8 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 12/01/2008

At 12,500 miles took vehicle to Dodge dealer complaining of the front brakes squealing. They told me the rotors were warped, probably from going though a puddle when they were hot, which I had not done. I had to pay to have the rotors turned. Still squealed. Ended up having to buy new rotors and pads for front. Now, the rear squeal so bad I am embarrassed to drive it. Will end up having to replace the rear brakes.

9 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2008 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 03/12/2008

I bought a 2008 Dodge Charger in March of '08. The front brakes were squeaking, one week after buying the car. The front end of the car and steering wheel would also shake and vibrate. I returned to the dealer to inform them of the problem and they kept the car for a few days. I returned to pick the car up after they called me to tell me they had fixed it. I asked them what work they did and they told me that they "cleaned" the pads. Needless to say, the brakes were still squeaking as I was driving the car off the lot. The car also continued to shake when applying the brakes. I returned shortly after to have them try and fix it again. This time I was told that the brakes for 2008 Chargers "suck" and that I would need to buy aftermarket rotors and pads. I bought the parts and returned to the dealer to have them install them. One week later, they were squeaking again. This is a very common problem with 2008 Chargers as I've found by reading numerous forums on the internet.

10 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 03/01/2008

Poor brake system on the Dodge daytona rt 2006. My vehicle only has 27,000 miles on it and my rear and front rotors are shot. I have replaced the brake pads once already. Dodge is saying that this is "common" and is not taking responsibility for this. To have this fixed will be approx $700. This appears to be a problem with several buyers of this vehicle. . 11 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 02/13/2008

Squeaky brakes/rotors I have been reading for the last several months about 2006 daytona r/t owners complaining about squeaky brakes. I too have suffered from this problem. I bought my gmg daytona in may of 2006. My brakes started to squeak in August 2006. I brought my car in three times to have this problem rectified. Each time I received answers from the dealer similar to the ones I have read here. Finally I was forced to write a letter to the dealer. "January 8, 2008 I received a quick reply and the vice president of t he dealership agreed to look at the problem. They replaced my rear brake pads and rotors. On the way home from the dealership the brakes began squeaking as bad as before. I was quite dismayed. I telephoned the vp of the dealership, whose reply was basically "we did what we can, we changed your brakes, their as good as new, and if the squeak, well then that's what they'll do, and we are basically done with this. . . ". I find this totally unsatisfactory. Good luck selling a $25,000 car with screaming brakes. I have thought of invoking the lemon law, as even though the car is safe, the brake issue could severely impact my resale value. I have finally broken down and bought hawk ceramic pads which I'm going to have installed. This to me does not seem the way this issue should be solved. I don't buy the "hi-po" brake sell that we are getting from Dodge. I think the pads are substandard, and perhaps so are the rotors. This should not be the case on a car for which I paid $32,000. I love the car, and would hate to have to ditch it because of the brakes.

12 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 02/01/2008

14 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 01/01/2008

Charget r/t 5. 7 l: starting at about 30,000 mi --severe (very scary) vibration and shake in front end and in steering wheel when braking at highway speeds. Does not occur at low speeds. Inspection of rotors/pads show no problems. Based on my research I believe to be a suspension defect.

15 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 12/14/2007

First as everyone else has experienced the brakes started to squeal. Then around 30,000 miles when brakes were applied at speed around 60 mph the steering wheel began to vibrate. Later followed by extreme motion in the wheel from left to right and eventually the brakes began to cease during acceleration. Had the rotor resurfaced and new pads. 8,000 miles later steering wheel doing the same thing and when I took it to the dealership they said my tires were bad and nothing wrong with the brakes. I find this hard to believe as the exact same problem happened before ending up with a bill around $1,000. So now I am waiting for the breaks to get so bad that they will actually service the problem. I am so disgusted with this and don't know what course of action to take.

16 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2007 Dodge Charger

17 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 08/30/2007

The brakes on my 2006 Dodge Charger r/t have been squealing for the past three months, and they continue to squeal. I have taken my Dodge Charger to my local dealership three times for this issue and I have paid for my brake rotors to be resurfaced. I have more than 60% of brake pad life left. 18 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 08/15/2007

I own a 2006 Dodge Charger daytona r/t. She is driven very little and only has 5200 miles. The brakes have already started to develop a squeal at low speeds. It is my understanding that a large amount of other 2006+ Chargers also have this issue. Updated 01-16-08.

20 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 07/27/2007

21 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 07/12/2007

Had brake TSB done in sept. 06. Maybe 3000 miles on car. Drove my car on 7/12/07 and heard screeching from left rear brake. Immediately drove to connel in oakland, CA. I got a call from the service department stating that all of my rotors needed replacing. The car has 12,500 miles on it. I've owned a 2004 Honda element and still hasn't required brake service. How do rear pads wera before front pads on any vehicle? I had an oil change in June and there was no mention of brake problem.

22 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 06/24/2007

I purchased a 2006 Dodge Charger r/t used, with only approx. 4,500 miles on it. After driving it the remaining part of the winter (Dec thru Feb) and into the warmer months, I noticed that my brakes started to squeal when I would brake to slow down from up to 50 miles per hour. I had contacted the dealers service center and had them inspect the brakes and all I received was the explanation that the brakes glazed over and the only thing to do would be to turn the rotors which would have cost me over $200. I went elsewhere and had the front rotors turned for less money, however, after approx. 3 weeks the squeal came back. Prior to owning this vehicle I owned a pontiac grand am whose brakes never squealed even when aftermarket brakes and rotors were put on. It would appear to me that a car of this price, would not have brakes that squeal after less than 7,000 to 11,000 miles being driven.

23 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2007 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 06/08/2007

With only 95 (brand new) miles the vehicle started shaking when apply breaks over 50 mph. It seem like badly warped rotors. Send a e mail to Dodge did. T seem to care. 25 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 03/01/2007

Took my srt 8 06 Charger to the dealer 3-1-07 because brake rotors had grooves and pads were prematurely worn at 19,000 miles on all 4 wheels. District manager refused to offer a replacement at no cost. Dodge knows that this problem exists and there needs to be a recall. . Many complaints on the Dodge forum too regarding this.

26 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2007 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 02/14/2007

2007 Dodge Charger r/t road & track package(hd brakes) my vehicle has 3500 miles from when I purchased it new and has excessive brake noise and possible front brake damage due to grooving/warping of the rotors. I have complained to the local dealer in my area as to the problem and a possible permanent fix with TSB 05-001-07. The dealer has stated I've been declined for this TSB and all that can be done under warranty is a temporary fix of replacing the brake pads with the same likeness and re-cut the rotors. This should not even be an option for a brand new vehicle with only 3500 carefull miles. The manufactuer is fully aware of this problem in their braking systems and has done nothing to correct this, that I am aware of. As I stated, TSB 05-001-07 was denied for my vehicle due to a "sales code" that does not match. My vehicle has this heavy duty brake system stated in the TSB, but do to "liability" will not be done. I have contacted several vehicle owners with the same problems I have, and all are just as frustrated as I am to have a new vehicle with brake problems. The dealer then stated to file a complaint with the manufacturer and hope something "comes out" before the 12,000 mile warranty is up. Thank you!.

27 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

29 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 10/22/2006

I've had a 2006 Charger rt for less than a year. For a couple of months the brakes began squealing and feeling like there grinding at times when I stop. Each time I visited the dealership I was told that the noise was normal because the brakes and brake pads were metallic. I recently took a trip up in the mountains, coming down I couldn't even use the brakes because the car began shaking and pulsating rapidly I could barely hold onto the steering wheel, luckily there weren't any other cars around. After checking out this website and Charger forums I'm definitely going to demand that my rotors be checked and fixed.

30 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 10/19/2006

I am concerned about the quality and safety of the brakes on my 2006 Dodge Charger r/t. Every time I brake, I hear a loud squealing noise. My car has 10,000 miles on it. I addressed this problem to the dealership where I get my car serviced and they said it was normal for this type of brake pad. I have never owned a vehicle that has made this awful noise and I do not see how it can be normal. I am concerned that this condition will worsen and my braking system will deteriorate.

31 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 10/11/2006

2006 Dodge Charger r/t front brake issue, at 16,000 miles rotors out of round, pads squeak. Dealer cut rotors and charged 100. 00 brakes still squeaking at 19. 000 miles suspect a bad compound mix in brake pads, many fellow Charger owners experiencing same problem and Dodge will not satisfy.

32 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Police package vehicle. The brakes have been squealing since the car had approximately 200 miles on the odometer. Current odometer reading is 2200.

33 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 05/11/2006

I was approaching a stop light and applied my brakes to stop. I felt my brakes slipping as if they were pressing fully to the floor not stopping my vehicle. In result I rear ended another vehicle and that chain reacted hitting another vehicle. I took my vehicle to a brake specialist and they diagnosed the problem being the brakes needed replaced and 2 rotors needed resurfaced. My vehicle is a 2006 model. I've made the dealer aware of what happened and they said the problem will be fixed upon their diagnosis as well.

34 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 05/01/2006

Brakes are shuttering when coming to a stop. Brake rotors and pads where getting worn down and squealing before the one year/12k miles and dealer would not fix.

35 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 02/12/2006

I own a 2006 Dodge Charger r/t that has a recurring brake problem. There is a noticeably loud sound coming from at least 2 and possibly all 4 wheel wells. When the parking brake is engaged I have intermittent slippage before the car settles. And finally, when attempting to brake I receive occasional shuddering in the car. I have attempted to take the car into three separate Dodge dealerships in the dallas texas area on seven different occasions and on six of those trips was informed nothing was wrong with the brakes. On my fifth service trip a brake job was performed, but has had no effect in fixing the problem. On the subsequent two trips I was again told that nothing could be found wrong with the brakes and that the noise was normal. This problem began at the 11,000 mile mark and has been deteriorating since then (currently at 27,000 miles). If nothing is done soon, I feel that I will need to unnecessarily and unjustly purchase an entirely new brake system for my car to ensure my driving safety.
