3 Suspension problem of the 2022 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 04/15/2025

I am writing to formally express my concern regarding an alignment issue with my 2022 Dodge Charger hellcat widebody, which remains unresolved despite multiple visits to an authorized Dodge dealership. I have been meticulous about maintaining this vehicle, including performing regular 4-wheel alignments and rotating the tires at every oil change trying to remedy this issue. Despite this, the dealership recently informed me that the camber on the vehicle is off by 1 degree do to the control arms not being long enough when designed. Most concerning is that I was told there are no factory parts available to bring the alignment back within proper specification. Tires are being replaced with less than 10k miles on them for uneven wear on the insides of the front tires causing them too bald quickly. After multiple years of going to one Dodge dealership that would state it was fine after an alignment, I finally got an answer that the control arms are short not allowing correct adjustments earlier this year and 30k miles later from another dealership. This has raised several issues for me as a customer who purchased a high-performance vehicle expecting both quality and support from Dodge. An inability to correct alignment within factory specs using oem parts suggests a potential manufacturing or design defect, and I believe it deserves further investigation. I would appreciate your review of this matter and a response with your recommended course of action. I am seeking a resolution that ensures the camber can be corrected appropriately without compromising the performance, handling, or tire wear of the vehicle.

4 Suspension problem of the 2008 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 02/12/2025

My car was leaking gas from the fuel pump and I guess my car from the backseat almost caught fire cause I seen smoke coming from the back seat behind the driver. I went to two Dodge dealerships to let them know about this incident that reason why my fuel pump caught on fire because Dodge put the negative and the positive wire close to each other on the fuel pump, which could cause a fire or your car to explode. I let Dodge know about this incident and let them know that my car almost caught on fire smoke came out and I could’ve died. They totally brushed me off and brushed off my incident. I told him hey this is a recall that you guys need to take serious before someone really gets hurt from now. I am carless with no vehicle to drive. No way to pick up my daughter from school. I need you guys help ASAP so I could be able to father my child and be able to go to work to provide for my child. Thank you.

The camber settings are not correct and they are not adjustable you have to buy a replacement camber kit to adjust camber to prevent tire wear on the inside this is not noticeable to someone just looking at the tire without getting underneath the car this causes you to replace your tires way before you need to.

19 Suspension problem of the 2017 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 01/21/2021

The uconnect 8. 4 inch screen used in a wide variety of Dodge vehicles is having widespread problems with delamination. My vehicle has recently seen behavior move from cosmetic to dangerous functional behavior changes. The delamination eventually will cause "ghost" or "phantom" touches on the screen that occur without any actual user input. This screen can adjust drive modes and settings that impact vehicle handling and power delivery. At worst, the change in vehicle settings via ghost touches on this screen could cause unexpected changes in handling dynamics and power delivery which may result in an accident at speed. This screen is also responsible for control of radio and climate, which is likely to cause distracted driving as the driver attempts to negate or rectify the frequent changes being made without their input. The degradation of the screen seems to be a adhesive material defect which could drip onto further electronic components behind the dash, causing a short or further misbehavior of important electrical systems.

20 Suspension problem of the 2013 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 01/04/2021

The steering started grabbing and sqealing around 81k miles when I turn. Sometimes it would become very hard to control when slowing down to turn such as at red lights or in a drive thru. No lights or sensors ever came on. From what I have read online there are several 2013 Dodge Chargers with the same issue. This is very dangerous and expensive to have repaired. I opted to have it fixed but I feel this issue should be looked into. I had the gear rack and pinion and power pump replaced.

23 Suspension problem of the 2016 Dodge Charger

24 Suspension problem of the 2016 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 04/15/2020

One day when I was driving, I heard a really loud sound coming from my car that hurt my ears so I drove back home under 5 miles per hour because whatever was hitting under the hood of my car was way too loud. As I was parking in my spot at home, my car shut off completely. Couldn't even put it in park and said to check engine. I ended up having to get my car towed to lithia of Dodge to look at it to see whats wrong because I couldnt even turn my car back on at all or do anything with it it was undriveable. I was told the driveshaft broke and slammed against the engine, transmission, anything basically connected to the driveshaft was damaged. They didn't total it out and told me to call my insurance but then they sent me elsewhere too and for 6 months I could not get anything worked out. Come to find out, there was a safety recall on 2016 Dodge Chargers for one of the reasons being the driveshaft not being tightened enough when made or something that it broke and could potentially lead to an accident that could cause injuries! I am lucky that I did not get in an accident or hurt because it happened when I was driving. It said that the recall was completed but of it was, it shouldnt have broke on my car. I stopped paying my loan and everything because no one was totalling it out or sending me to someone who could help so now my car is repossessed and says I still owe on it which I feel is wrong and I shouldnt have the repossession or be having to pay anything on it.

25 Suspension problem of the 2009 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 04/10/2020

After taking care of this car I've notice that the manufacture has failed me. I began to think I was the only one that this has occurred to. And after further review it seems to me that most all Chargers are having the same issue. Which I think that Dodge should be held accountable for replacing the engine in the vehicle. If anyone is like myself you hate to give up such a beauty. But at this time I'm almost heartbroken to say it must be done. I feel whoever is responsible for making this engine should consider replacing not the same model in the vehicle but give a better brand. Or is that can not exist be considerate enough to give the owner have of what they have invested into the vehicle. But you must show proof. Dodge its not right and someone should be held accountable especially if we have to pay a car payment or cash in hand for this beauty. Please consider this letter to uphold your end of the bargain. It is only fair. My engine is gone. Sign unsatisfied costumer.

The right rear suspension trailing link that bolts to the sub frame the sub frame mounting bracket sheared off the sub frame. This car has was a rental car before I purchased it. The data recorded was retrieved and nothing shows this was caused by me. The left side has visible wear and stress in the frame, I do not feel safe in this car even if this car is repaired. This caused a minor accident making me spin when it sheared off. It looks as though this was a manufacturing defect with the welding of this part.

33 Suspension problem of the 2016 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 09/22/2018

2016 Dodge hellcat front struts replaced in may 18 2018 now the struts are having the same problem car isn't driving straight and struts are on back order since Sep 22 until now. Bought the car 9/2/18 and the redding dealership used car manager dave birch and the owner steve roberts have been unprofessional in talking to me. When I asked about the status on my car and is this a normal situation and standard procedure after buying not one but two cars and taking a car in for repairs not having the car with less than 7016 miles and after repairing a scratch on the back bumper and having to replace the tires which should've been replaced before putting the car on the lot, because the sales agent and used car manager had to test the depth of the tires which they shouldn't had to check if they would've just replaced the tires in the beginning all this could've been avoided now there's a crack in the windshield when the care was purchased windshield, the owner and used car manager actually asked '' what else do you want from us david what else do you want us to do for you '' after I asked is this a normal situation and procedure. Well after the used car manager was rude and unprofessional to me I was rude to him and then when I asked to speak to him he was not taking my calls anymore and letting all my messages go to voicemail so when the manager decided to do that that's when I talked to the owner steve he started acting the same way they didn't want to talk to me and switched me to guy the service part manager. If this is how Dodge dealerships operate then I'll never recommend anyone from buying a car from any Dodge dealership or any Dodge vehicle for that matter I don't work due to the redding wildfires burning down my house and business which I owned a party bus company and will pursue this to the very end luckily for me this is a small town & the people of redding.

34 Suspension problem of the 2016 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 09/14/2018

My wife bought me a 2016 Dodge hellcat labor day weekend sale, this was a present 9/1/2018 I bought the Lincoln 9/2/2018 she bought me the hellcat. When my wife went back to the dealership, they never took my wife out to test drive the car or gave her the car fax report or pointed out any defects. The dealer also told my wife that we were the second owners. I had to buy a carfax report to find out and argue with the dealership that I was the 3rd owner. My wife bought the hellcat 9/2/2018 and I had it back at the dealership 9/14/2018 for multiple issues 1. Rattling in the front every time drive over a bump 2. The vehicle would pull to the right. 3. A piece of paint on the back bumper where the trunk met the bumper had damage. 4. Tires where balled on the inside tire and less than 1/32 on the outside tire. All these issues were a fight and should've never been questioned, the dealership knew about these problems and I still had to fight, I ended up paying for 2 tires the dealership had my car for 49 days at the crown motors of redding. The only issues resolved was the tires and paint chip. Then 11/12/18 to 12/3/2018 the car was back in the shop a second time for the same problem at the Dodge roseville auto mall to fix the rattling problems in the front. In between the dates from 11/12 12/3 the dealership called me up and said my vehicle was ready. Myself and the service manager test drove it and discovered that the noise was still not fixed. 12/3/2018 we drove it again and the noise was finally fixed but the pulling to the right still appeared to still be happening. I was told that's common after a wheel alignment I wanted to disagree, but I had no more fight left in me especially after finding out about my wife's medical problems. I'm just disgusted with the whole situation especially with the owner of crown motors and I had a case with the bbb that I won.
