Brake Fluid Leak problems of the 1999 Dodge Dakota

Two problems related to brake fluid leak have been reported for the 1999 Dodge Dakota. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 10/31/2009

Power steering fluid leaking with no visible reason. National transportation safety administration lists a recall for 1999 Dodge Dakota for inadequate clearance between left front brake tube and power steering hose. Called Chrysler to see if we could still act on this recall and they told me no such recall exists. Is your system accurate in reporting this recall and can we still have this vehicle checked out? it was just bought by my son in September 2009 so he would not have been notified with the original recall. Recall no. 00v193000.

2 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2008

After applying the brake to shift gears, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor with very little resistance. The brake light came on the dashboard. When I got out of car, there was a large pool of brake fluid under the driver side door. Upon further inspection, I noticed the brake fluid leaking from the rusted brake line.
