Two problems related to transmission not go into gear have been reported for the 2000 Dodge Dakota. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving at 40 mph check engine light came on. Vehicle would not shift into a gear higher than two. Vehicle was driven to a dealer, who informed the consumer that the aceum piston, in the valve body broke.
While accelerating transmission will not shift into gear. The driver has to deaccelerate and then accelerated . Dealer has repaired/replaced the transmission twice.
