I bought my 2003 Dodge ram quad cab 1500 in January 2007 with about 38,000 miles on it. At the time the paint job on the truck was fine but starting around April or may the clear coat on the truck started to delaminate. I called up Dodge and even went by my local Dodge dealer to complain about the paint job but I was told because I'm not the original owner and that the trucks 3 year 36,000 mile warranty has run out no one will fix my truck. I've been told by my local Dodge dealer that it is a factory problem with my paint but I'm out of luck when it comes to Dodge repainting my truck.

A-pillar-mounted ingress handle on passenger side. I own a 2003 ram 1500 quad cab pickup. I bought this truck new in October 2003. Today, I was trying to get in the truck through the passenger's side and stood up to to clean the windshield and the a-pillar-mounted ingress handle came off. This truck has 4x4 so it is taller then the regular truck. You have to use that handler to keep your balance. Luckily ,I didn't get hurt because I used the seat and the door to avoide falling. I called the dealership, and unfortunatelly they won't be able to do anything to replace the a-pillar-mounted ingress handle because the truck was out of warranty. The truck has over 60,000 miles and I've had it 36 months. My complaint was why don't they builld this handles stronger. Their purpose was to help the persons get into the vehicles. Shouldn't they be able to hold at least an average size person?.
The contact owns a 2002 Dodge ram quad cab. The contact stated that the dashboard was fractured along the air conditioner and heater vent. The contact was concerned that the front passenger air bag could inadvertently deploy because of the fracture. The contact stated that the air conditioner and heater vent were inoperable on the lower settings due to obstruction from pieces of fractured debris. The contact stated that the air conditioner and heating system would only function on a high setting. The contact also stated that the windshield defroster was inoperable. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000. The VIN was not available.

Water saturating floor on passenger side. Carpet smells moldy due to recurring problem. Taken to dealer 2 times previous and truck at dealer now for the 3rd time to attempt a possible repair. Sealed drain hole in firewall where evaporator housing drain hose goes through to outside of body and checked a/c lines for leaks. Truck leaks from inside the firewall, dealer is not sure where.
The dashboard and hvac system has cracked to pieces causing the defrosters to be inoperable most of the time and constantly blows pieces of plastic and foam out of the vents occasionally getting in the driver's eyes and nose causing sneezing and distracting irritation.
I noticed another complaint dated 3/1/2004 as the fail date and an internal use date of 7/6/2005 of this same problem. The paint on the roof of the cab stared peeling off and paint on various other areas of the truck. The bumper was the first to go. I would say this started about after the truck was 4-5 years old. I once had this happen on a two year old Nissan truck and Nissan repainted the entire truck an said it was defectively painted.

Passenger side floor fills with water until it wicks through the carpet completely saturating the area.
Water leaking on passenger side. Dealer attempted repair 4 times. Dealer said first time air conditioning condensation leaked. Filled up with water after rain, ruined carpet and musty smell.
2002 Dodge Dakota club cab p/u has serious water leak to pass side floor. Dealer has had interior out of truck 4 times w/o fixing problem. I am personally aware of many other Dakota owners with same exact problem. This appears to be a model wide defect and Dodge has no interest in dealing with damaged owners. Could cause eleectric short/problems as wiring/wiring connections run under carpet on this side of truck. Dealer must have known of leak and failed to disclose to internet buyer and did best to minimize appearance of dampness by "shampooing" carpets for delivery - very dishonest!!!!!!!!!.
Water leaking onto passenger's side floor, moldy carpeting, smells badly. Dealer attempted repairs, but defect continues.
Water pouring into passenger side floorboard that soaks and ruins carpeting. Unknown source, firewall area.
The passanger side floor floods with about a gallon of water every week. So every week for the pase two months, I had to remove the carpet and soak up the water with towles. So far it cause is unknown.
Water leaking in floor board. Water will be standing about an inch deep. Check TSB #2301004. It leaks everytime it rains. Dodge knows about the problem but they haven't done a recall.
Water has leaked into the vehicle driver and passenger side floors on 5 separate occasions. The vehicle has been serviced for the water leaks on 29 Aug. 01 and 10 oct. 01; however, on 7 Dec. 01, the water leaked again causing the vehicles entire electrical system to fail while the vehicle was in motion. This defect creates a possible dangerous hazard. Provided the vehicle is traveling at speeds of 65mph on a highway with precipitation, the loss of headlights and hazard lights could result in a vehicle crash or road hazard. Could I please be notified if there are any other similar complaints or concerns on this.
Bushings on front right of vehicle were becoming worn. Consumer took vehicle into dealership, who examined it and determined that there was a crack located on lower right front wheel well area of vehicle. Dealership informed consumer that vehicle was unsafe to drive. Please provide any additional information/attachments.

The front center cupholders on the 40-20-40 seats are very low in design, when you put a hot drink in them and make a turn the drinks in them (cup and all) will fall out, if hot drinks are in them it will burn your leg while driving but worse it distracts you and could cause an accident.
Water leaking into cab.
