No indications of failure before occurrence, top dash piece cracked and broke (essentially shattered) across the whole dash also caused the bezel to crack and brake I have heard of several others with the same make and model that have the same trouble.

Many cracks on dashboard which could cause safety issue if airbag is deployed. Searching on internet and found many customers with same issue. One florida tv station did a report on this problem in 2007. There needs to be an investigation so a recall can happen.

My 2003 Dodge ram quad cab, laramie dash started cracking and now has 3 cracks. I thought I was only one with this problem until today. One sight alone had 103 reports of the same cracks where they started and in the same order as how mine started. Dodge recognizes this as a defect but are not willing to recall. At this point it is customer satisfaction issue as well as safety issue. With the airbags installed in the dash, what happens if the cracks continue and cause an airbag to deploy without a crash. Is it going to take someone getting killed before the company recognizes they need to recall such as Ford did several years ago with the defective tires, they waited until people died, I just do not understand why a company would represent themselves falsely, Dodge promotes their products as quality and top of the line. I beg to differ, any assistance in this matter will help those families driving down the road in these unsafe vehicles.

Dash has several cracks in it.

Excessive dash board cracking!! in a months time 2 large cracks have appeared on the dashboard leading me to believe that crash safety may be compromised.

The dash on my 2002 Dodge ram is cracking for no apparent reason and Dodge will not do anything about it and there are plenty of people across the u. S. Having the same trouble.

2001 Dodge ram 1500 noticed several cracks in the dashboard in 2008 brought it to the dealer, ultimately they could replace but I would have to pay for it. Chrysler corp. Agreed with dealer. Now there are more I put caulk on them to keep the dash from eventually from falling in creating all kind of havoc I have read some of the horror stories in result of this defect of the dashboard.

This 6 year old Dodge truck has developed three cracks in the dashboard that run from the front to the back. I believe that the function of my air bags may be affected in a crash due to these cracks. Dodge has indicated that there is no defect in this part and I am responsible for any and all repairs.

I own a 2002 Dodge ram truck that has 63,000 miles and the dash is cracking all around in different spots. I have read on many different web sites that my truck is not the only one having the same problem. I contacted Dodge about the problem and was told that there was nothing that was their responsibility. So the next step was to file a complaint with the safercar. Complete failure of Dodge ram 2002 pu dash. The dash has cracked in multiple places (more than 20) and has disintegrated. The truck has not been parked in excessively hot or dry climates.

Dashboard is cracking in several places from front to back for unknown reason. No chemicals used on dash. Believe this may cause pass. Side airbag from deploying or may cause pieces of the dash to turn into projectiles if airbag deploys.

The main dash in my 2002 Dodge ram is cracked just above the passenger side airbag. Heard that other Dodge owners had the same problem and got it fixed under warranty from the dealership.

2001 Dodge ram pickup 1. Normal usage at 35,000 miles. 2. Cracked dashboard may cause injury/ exposure to electrical components. The entire dashboard appears to be caving in. 3. Dodge has yet to accept responsibility after repeated complaints.

Top of dash is cracking in numerous places around the defroster openings. This leaves numerous sharp edges on top of the dash.

My 2001 Dodge ram 1500 4x4 dash has completely cracked to pieces. It started out as just two cracks. Now hunks of the dash are falling out, about 8 months later. It just continues to get worse.

Not sure what lead to the failure, but my 03 Dodge ram pick up dash is crack from near windshield side to near the glove compartment on the other side it has not gotten to be dangerous yet or cause other failures yet that I know of. Dodge dealer said that since it is simply cosmetic they will not replace it and if they do it will cost over 1,000. 00.

Large cracks in dash of truck becoming a safety hazard. Plastic dash and gauge bezel cracking badly. I have not found this issue on the 2000 or 2002 model. I have also spoken to other owners of this vehicle with the same year and cracking of the dash, suspect this to be a defect in manufacturing.

Dashboard has large cracks in it which have exposed wires and caused issues with the electrical system in my truck.

2003 1500 quad cab with a cracked dashboard. Dodge has agreed to pay for part, but I have to pay for labor. $250. 00. No way! $30,000 truck should hold up better. Dodge needs to do something about this problem.

Dashboard cracking/breaking off leaving jagged edges to the extent that it is dangerous to drive.

I own a 2001 Dodge ram pick up. Approximately 2 years ago we discovered that the dashboard had cracked in numerous places. We had it replaced while the vehicle was still under warranty. We have discovered that the replaced dashboard is again cracking. I feel that these particular models are defective and I would like for the dashboard to be exchanged again without cost to me as a consumer. I do not want this dashboard caving in like others that have been reported with the same problems. I dearly love my truck and it's a shame that an item such as this could decide whether I buy from Dodge in the future. Thank you for your consideration of this request.

2001 Dodge ram pickup dash board cracked and fell apart exposing sharp plastic shards to diver and passenger.

A crack in the dash on the passenger side near the windshield was noticed back in January but we are uncertain exactly how long it had been there. After several months, the crack aggressively spread through the dashboard. The vehicle had not sustained damage to cause the crack at any time. The dashboard has always been maintained with conditioners, and there were no other areas with problems.

Dashboard cracks - small crack approx. 1inch, 1 yr. Ago. And now, 4 large cracks, 2 on the pass. Side and the other 2 at the center of the dash. I purchased the veh. Brand new.

2002 Dodge ram quad cab dash board is cracked/split in 5 or more places. In other words the dash is deteriorating. The material is apparently very brittle. Dodge told me it would cost $1500 to replace it with the same dash that would crack again in 5 years. I called Dodge and was told there were no reported problems and they would not consider any help in replacement or admit a design flaw. Other places are reporting the entire dash is falling in and effecting the electrical system operation.

I have a 2002 Dodge ram that has 5 cracks in the dashboard. 4 of the cracks go from the window to the defroster vents ,and one goes from the side defroster vent to the glove box. At this time there have been no repairs or recalls to correct this problem.
