We have a 2002 Dodge Dakota and a 2007 Dodge caliber that both have severe front end problems. The vehicles both shake uncontrollably, especially when hitting a bump or applying the brakes. We've tried to get this fixed but Chrysler says there is nothing wrong. A mechanic told us its our rotors but we've had them turned and have had the rotors on the truck replaced twice. It affects the braking speed and it is difficult to keep control of the steering wheel while braking and while driving in the rain. I know others have had this problem, is it going to take someone getting injured or killed to fix it?.

Both links replaced with heavier-duty links at customer expense and told by service department this was normal wear-and-tear and they've been getting several of these lately. 2000 Dodge Dakota front end problem. Nothing has happened yet, but the front end of my truck makes unidentifiable noise when turning. I have been to the mechanic 3 times and no one has been able to identify or fix it. I don't feel I should have to pay for this if it defect. As well, I would like the problem corrected. Please advise. Thanks.

I had bought my 2500 Dodge ram back in June of 2003. I had owned the vehicle for about 5 months when I was on the expressway going 75mph and the truck started shaking violently out of control. I had to pull over to stop the vibrations. I brought it in to Dodge and they said they couldn't replicate the problem and everything looked fine. I continued to drive the vehicle thinking this was a freak occurrence. Then about 1 month ago I was once again driving aroun 60mph hit a bump and the vehivle started shaking out of control. This happened 5 times in three days( as I was driving a lot those days). I brought it in to Dodge and they gave me a hard time, but ended up replacing the trackbar and steering stabilizer. They said they don't know if this will fix the problem or not. Now I feel that the car is unsafe to drive and have heard many other folks complaining about this shaking as well.
There is terrible noise coming from the front end of my 2001 Dodge Dakota quadcab. Dealer greased bushings but noise is back and worse than ever!!!!!!!!!!!.

While driving, the vehicle swerved to the left without warning and the vehicle to hit a tree and rolled over. The dealer believed that the cause was due to front end suspension failure, however the airbags deployed upon impact.
I was driving under 30 miles an hour in my 2002 Dodge ram quad truck when something snapped under the front of the truck causing me to lose control of my vehicle resulting into crashing into a truck waiting to pull out into the street. The truck only had 17,000 miles and we only have had it 22 months, bought new. The steering arm was off at both ends, the wheel came off and all damage was on the inside of the wheel, the other wheel was turned straight. When accident happened the truck veered to the left out of control. The airbag never came out. Are there any reports of 2002 Dodge trucks having steering problems? Chrysler finally sent a person to look at the truck. Our insurance company is wanting to put after market parts on our new truck, which will limit our warranty with Chrysler since they're not Dodge parts. The point if we were on interstate or any road going faster someone would have gotten hurt much worse or killed, since the airbag didn't work either. Cast aluminum is what the parts that came apart were made of. With the damage that occurred to the wheel and both ends of the steering arm was off after the wreck, it is hard to tell how it happened. We have not gotten the official word from Chrysler yet. Caution owners of 2002 Dodge trucks of the potential dangers, please.

When making a turn under braking, either at turn-in or just before the truck stops, a thump/clunk can be heard from the front end, possibly on the left. 3 visits to the dealer has failed to correct this, although the noise has been acknowleged by technicians.
The tires have been replaced twice due to wear on the outside edge of the front tires. Had the front end aligned each time and the mechanic stated minor adjustment. The problem seems to be the camber, the last mechanic I talked to (8/29/202) stated that has had several dogde dekotas in with the same problem and the dealers state that there is no problem.
I have gone thru 3 sets of tires for the front rh side of my vehicle. I have done 3 alignments on my truck already. I took the truck into a 2nd dealer to check out the front end 2 weeks ago and the conclusion was that I needed a 4th alignment for this truck. This truck has 60,000 miles on it, mainly commuting back and forth to work. I am going to be traveling 4,000 miles next month and am very leery of taking this vehicle. What are my options. I have never had a vehicle in my 15 years of driving need 4 alignments in 2 years. ( dot number: tire size: p21575s15 ).
When driving at lower speeds heard a loud noise ,and vehicle jerked or pulled. Also, defroster puts a film on the inside of windshield. Dealership suggested to clean inside the windshield with wiper fluid. Contacted dealer.
