After driving on the interstate highway for a couple hours from phoenix, arizona I noticed that the left turn signal started malfunctioning, and the right signal flashed instead. After several hours of driving, noticed that sometimes the right signal only flashed 3 or 4 times when turning on the right indicator. I also noticed that the emergency flashers would usually blink once or twice left, then switch to right only. While stopped, I verified that the right front and rear turn signals were actually blinking as indicated on the dash. The next day however the problem was gone. I drove the car on the interstate again for several hours, without any issues.

The windshield popped off in one corner, it was due to the lack of a weather seal the truck was not equipped with. The lack of seal created a reservoir of water that cannot be seen and made rust along the edges. This rust ate away the glue and lead to leaks and finally I had to replace the entire windshield because it was no longer safe to drive with when it rained. The water leaked in and obstructed my view while driving.

The driver headlight quit working. I went to the store to replace it thinking it had burnt out. When I replaced the light it did not work still and the old headlight still had both filaments proving it was still good. I took the truck to the dealership after both headlights quit working on me when I was out at night driving less than a 10th of a mile from home. I managed to not get in an accident. The dealership told me that the ctm and head light switch were bad however the ctm was a "obsolete" part and they were unable to get me one. After they released my truck back to me to drive as I please, I was able to purchase an older ctm from a 2003 4x4 automatic Dakota 4. 7l. Now my lights work and I have a "guarantee" from the ebay seller that it will work for 6 months. I have a seriously dangerous vehicle and I can not trust my headlights will not go out at any time so I can not drive it at night in good confidence or moral conscience. The dealership lilithia Dodge of roseburg oregon has record of my truck being in their possession for multiple days before releasing it back into my possession without doing anything but a diagnostics test.
Wipers do what they want to, no- off dont seat stop in middle of windshield.

My 2006 Dodge Dakota is having problem with the turn signal and wiper. While driving, regardless of speed, my right turn signal flashes when I'm turning left. This is a safety hazard that will confuse other drivers. My wiper is also acting up. The fastest speed sometimes works and sometimes doesn't work. It's still working but just the regular speed. If it has speed of 1-5 for example, it only goes to 4. I think this should be a recall of parts or at least no charge when they replace whatever it is that needs to be replaced. Reading online, only Dodge-chrysller has this problem.
I bought my truck at auto advantage in hendersonville n. C. In March 2016 to days later transmission went in limp mode they replaced computer three times, then a week an half later happen again this time they rebuilt transmission. Then wipers want stop at times in park when cutoff. Steering has a popping when turning. Now the truck thru 4 codes check everything next day check codes has 3 codes checked again went to work codes still on that evening started home no light or codes thrown its like it fixed its self need help to solve problems. Can not afford anymore fixes. I owe two loans both on truck auto advantage would not help on transmission repairs. Never buy from them again worst buy I ever had. Can you help me with my problems?.
Takatarecall when attempting to engage the wiper washers, the blades move, but no washer fluid sprays on the window. Sometimes the wipers work and sometimes they do not work and only resume working after I use the turn signal or push the washer stick. This happens while vehicle is stationary or moving. The washer pump was replaced with a new one and still did not force fluid onto the windshield. I was told it is an electrical problem in the steering column. When passing a semi truck in winter conditions or rainy driving, I have had to pull over and clean the windshield with a rag in order to see clearly to drive. Very dangerous.

The left turn signal works when it wants and when I turn it on the right turn signal comes on. The wipers and the headlights are currently going out or coming on by themselves. I have an error on the airbags (which have had the drivers replaced and currently awaiting the passengers, plus the new recall on the hose to the air bags). This issue started at around 120k miles. The fuses have been checked and passed. The bulbs-replaced. The situation is getting worse as the dash and interior lights do not work. The night lights went out when I was driving one night and do not drive after dusk anymore. All of this happens driving. The turns do it whether I am making a turn or pulling out or even testing them parked.
Numerous front end repairs to no avail. Still having steering issues and loud banging when turning. Wipers coming on at random, battery light on in spite of new battery and alternator. We have spent over $4000 in repairs on from end and 2 wiper motors. The wipers still will not work properly.
Windshield wipers stopped working. Shaking turn signal eventually caused wipers to start working again.

The dash board on this vehicle is cracking all over. It has cracked around the passenger airbag and pieces have fallen into the airbag compartment. This has not caused injury yet, but if involved in an accident, the broken pieces will definitely cause injury and I hope that they do not affect the airbag deployment. Pieces blow into your face while running the defrost which if struck in the eye could cause an accident.
The windshield in my 2006 Dodge Dakota has a 26" crack, which limits my visibility and is a distraction while driving. This did not happen from a chip or crack, but rather from the poor manufacture design. The crack began on the passenger side, in the upper right hand corner and creates a half moon shape down to the bottom of the passenger side. I was told by a professional at safelite auto glass that this was caused by the manufacture's design which does not properly seal the windshield and causes water to rot out the windshield frame. The tech was also able to show me the extent of the metal rot, but pulling the ceiling cover down and feeling the metal around the windshield from inside the cabin. The windshield frame on my 2006 Dodge Dakota is all rotted out. The technician refused to replace my windshield due to the fact that he would not be able to replace it without destroying the rotted metal around the windshield frame. He stated that he has seen this problem in several 2006 Dodge Dakotas. My insurance coverage provides me with 100% full glass replacement. However, because of the window rot, I have to pay a body shop to replace and fix the window rot before the technician will replace the windshield. Chrysler Dodge should own up to their defective design and have a recall to fix the faulty windshield seals and damage caused by them. Having such a large crack in my windshield is a distraction and it could cause a terrible accident. A photo of this damage is available, but not posted.
Tl- the contact owns a 2003 Dodge Dakota. The contact stated that the windshield wipers failed and the exterior lights sporadically malfunctioned. Also, the contact mentioned that the side cap to the main radiator spud antifreeze about 5 feet in the air. The contact shut off the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were made aware of the failure. In addition, the contact stated that while driving at a low speed, a loud popping sound emitted from the vehicle. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the ball joint had fractured. The contact was made aware that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 04v596000 (suspension). The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence were he performed the repair. The failure mileage was 220,000. Pam.
The past few months I have had the abs light coming on and off with the gauges all dropping and not working. Today I was sitting in park when my horn came on and all the dash lights came on then the wipers and sprayers started going off while the radio was switching through channels. I saw on this sight that the problems look similar to problems of vehicles that were recalled. After calling the manufacturer they are telling me that even though the problems are similar my vehicle isn't under this recall for 06 Dodge Dakotas.
Not sure what happened. . . Just a gradual downfall of the gasket on the windshield that is now completely out of the window on the passenger side in the upper corner. . Can see the curve of the gasket out of the window. . . Its as if it shrunk from one week to the next.
Windshield wiper arm splines worn smooth, causing wiper to not function. Wiper arm replaced happened again 04/18/2014, this time splines on arm worn smooth and splines on motor partially worn. Not caused by loose attachment nut.
The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Dakota. The contact stated that the front passenger's side windshield exhibited severe cracks and bubbles near the top and bottom area. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic who specialized in windshield repairs. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
While driving on interstate 24, near clarksville, TN, at 2015 hours, my headlights completely shut off while driving. After a a span of 15-20 seconds with no lights, I had to unsafely pull over on the shoulder of the road. After which my headlights began to flicker on and off, for spans of 1-3 seconds. From the time of the first incident to now, my headlights, internal lights, windshield wipers, and tail lights are all inoperable and unsafe to drive during bad weather conditions, or limited viability due to light. From my research this is an extremely frequent problem with Dodge Dakota and Dodge durango owners, with vehicles made between the years of 01' - 03'. I contacted Dodge about the problem and requested assistance, and they were unwilling to help or fix the problem, even though I told them it was unsafe, and that my situation was not an isolated incident. I honestly believe, if this were to happen to a less experienced driver, or to a driver in a situation of bad weather or late at night. It could result in serious injuries or tragic loss of life.
The blower does not switch from floor to dash or dash to defrost unless I mess with it and get lucky.
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Dakota. The contact stated that the windshield wipers were inoperative. The dealer was notified and made an appointment to have the vehicle repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 32,112 and the current mileage was 32,942.
I never know whether the wipers will work when it is raining or not. Usually, if they start working when turned on, they will continue. Although, they may wipe continuously when set in the intermittent range; alternatively, they may work on intermittent even when set to continuous. I have never been able to set the wipers to "high", the fastest they will go is continuous, normal speed. Infrequently, the directional signals will not self cancel, or they will spontaneously being to flash in the opposite direction to the setting. Very strange.
Windshield wipers will turn on randomly. This issue happens in all weather conditions and will cycle twice before shutting off. Because this is not during any specific condition dealers would need to take the truck and drive it until the issue arose.
The windshield appears weak having many pock marks in it. This causes the windshield wipers to need to be replaced often. The dash is severely cracked and we are afraid that this is going to cause the air bag to rupture on the passenger side (besides the fact that it is coming apart).
My turn signals and windshield wipers do not work all the time. It occurs at random times and I can temporarily fix it by adjusting the steering column.
Windshield wipers stopped working during rain storm. By pushing washer button wiper activated but would not work with regular settings.
My 2007 Dodge Dakota quad cab 4x4 windshield wiper control module failed during a rain shower yesterday. This item has bee a recall on past Dakotas, but after contacting the company I was informed that this pickup was not on the recall list, although the problem is exactly as described in the previous recall bulletin: pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles, the windshield wiper module motor may be susceptible to water intrusion that could cause internal corrosion and result in partial or complete loss of front windshield wiping capability. This is a very dangerous problem, but I was close to my home and was able to drive there.
My windshield is being scratched because of dry wiper blades contacting the initial dry glass before the washer pump engages, then the blades will oscillate about 6 times before even a dribble of water will show up. The lines were pressurized and jetted both with air and water. The dealer told me that I would have to replace the pump. The visibility is good when it rains. New arms and blade assemblies were installed. Vision is not safe at 25mph. At 55mph when the pump is engaged it seems that water is being siphened and a better coverage of the glass occurs.
2002 Dodge ram 1500 quad cab has a surging problem at highway speed. The check engine light will come on and it is read as transmission fluid pressure sensor. This was replaced with a factory sensor and within 2 weeks it did it again. After 200 miles the light went out and the surging stopped only to start and stop repeatedly up to this date, 8/23/2010. How can a sensor repair itself? impossible! mileage at first check engine light was less than 100,000. Also dash is cracked to a completely unacceptable level for the age of the vehicle and mileage on dash at 138,000 with care taken to keep it clean and conditioned. Cracks began at 85,000 miles. Wipers when operating on high will lower speed and will continue to change from high to low intermittently unless they are turned off and turned back on several times. Do not consider this safe in any way. Intermittent wiper use with delay feature seems to be completely okay. Air conditioner will only blow cold air on driver's side and blows warm air on passenger side. After 45 minutes of a/c use, roaring sound issues from the vents and a gradual decrease in all air begins until only wisps of air escapes from driver side vents.
Wipers and turn signals stop working and then come back on when they get ready. Malfunctioning.
Windshield wipers turn on unexpectedly while the vehicle is moving obscuring the driver's vision which could lead to a loss of control or crash.
On two occasions this vehicle experienced a serious safety issue when intermittently the turn signals fail to operate simultaneously with the windshield wipers also stop working. This can happen at any time and is particularly dangerous while in traffic and in a heavy rainstorm without warning the windshield wipers stop. At the same time the turn signals become inoperable so the driver is left without visibility and the inability to notify fellow travelers that he/she must immediately move to the right hand shoulder until the rain stops. This problem happed to me in may of 2007. Mileage on the vehicle was 23,125. The problem was identified by the Dodge technician as a defective multifunction switch - part number 56049823ab. The multifunction switch was removed and replaced by Dodge under warranty. The problem reoccurred in January of 2015. Mileage on the vehicle at that time was 35,242 (12,117 miles driven) since the first incident. The problem was once again the multifunction switch - part number 56049823ab. I was told by the service manager that this problem could not be covered under warranty since I had exceeded the 3 year warranty period. I had to pay $125. 95 to have the multifunction switch removed and replaced (again). Everyone (including myself) knew when I took the vehicle in for repair exactly what the problem was. It appears that Dodge has a serious repetitive problem with this integral part. And when this part fails it represents a dangerous safety issue - one in which death and/or serious injury can and will occur.
