Front Suspension Hub problems of the 1999 Dodge Durango

Eight problems related to front suspension hub have been reported for the 1999 Dodge Durango. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Suspension Hub problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2012

Recently purchased this vehicle in great shape inside and out, runs great. . The dealer did the state inspection on it and replaced both side upper and lower ball joints and the right front hub/wheel bearing. Now 3 weeks later upper and lower ball join on one side need to be replaced again. . This is ridiculous, I have researched and seen all the complaints pertaining to this problem and am dumb founded nothing has been done about it. I just bought it so don't have any information for prior owners.

2 Front Suspension Hub problem

Failure Date: 02/13/2009

Suspension:front hub.

3 Front Suspension Hub problem

Failure Date: 02/26/2004

Failure of upper and lower ball joints, hub assembly and drive axle.

4 Front Suspension Hub problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2003

We just had the right hub bearing changed in may 2003. Now the same bearing is bad again and the tie rod ends are going bad and the upper and lower ball joints (these problems are on both the left and right side) it just seems to me that this is an awful lot of problems for a truck that is only 4 yrs old. The extended warrenty I bought on it doesn't cover any thing but the hub bearings. We bought this because we needed a family size vehichle, now I'm afraid to put my kids in it.

5 Front Suspension Hub problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2003

On 09-16-03 I took our 1999 Durango to a local dealership for a grinding noise in the front end (I suspected it to be wheel bearings). The Durango only had 50,000 miles on it and I learned that it needed wheel bearing/hub assemblies on both sides. That cost me nearly $900 and now only 1 month later I am faced with replacing upper ball joints and control arms on both sides. The dealership and daimler Chrysler are no help with these problems. I feel these components have failed prematurely. This is not a vehicle that is driven roughly (my wife uses it to transport our two small children). I'll have to rethink future purchases of Chrysler products.

6 Front Suspension Hub problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2001

While driving under normal conditions steering control would be difficult, and there was a noise coming from front end. Dealership examined vehicle, and determined that front/left hub had disintegrated, causing damage to brake and suspension systems. Please provide any additional information / attachments.

7 Front Suspension Hub problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2000

Front left wheel makes constant clicking noise. Have taken it into numerous dealerships for service (over 10 times) for the same problem with no resolution. I have had this problem since 2000.

8 Front Suspension Hub problem

While driving consumer heard a noise that was coming from left wheel. Technician serviced vehicle, and noticed upper and lower hub assembly needed to be replaced.
