Four problems related to rear suspension have been reported for the 1999 Dodge Durango. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While turning consumer heard a loud noise coming from the rear passenger/driver wheel. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
Rear end failed within only four years. Dealer notified.
While traveling at highway speed the rear end of the vehicle became disconnected, which caused the driver to temporarily loose control of the vehicle. The dealer replaced the rear end of the vehicle.
When the vehicle goes in reverse it makes a clunk. It feeels like it's engaging in 4- wheel. Dealer put in a rear carrier, and new rear end gears. Problem was not remedied, but dealer has order for another part involving linkage for rear end.
