Just purchased a 2014 Dodge Durango limited. Had it one week and a portion of the race track lighting on the rear of the vehicle has went out. It appears water has gotten into the lighting housing. This appears to be a major issue with that lighting system, as complaints are all over the internet about it. Problem now is eventually it will short out the entire backend lights including the running lights and brake lights creating a major safety issue. To replace the part is over $1,000 which makes it difficult for the consumer to fix. Its not acceptable that this part is failing so quickly on Dodge products with that style lighting and isn't an affordable fix. I am concerned driving my vehicle since I have no idea when it will completely short out. Dodge should fix the problem that is causing the lighting to accumulate water and short out. A few defective lights is understandable but the amount of people complaining about having the same problems shows it really needs recalled.

My wife was driving down the road probably about 40 or 45 mph when she heard a loud pop and the car began to handle weird and making all kinds of noise. She got it to a nearby parking lot where I met her to look at it. At first glance I could not find anything wrong except for the exhaust appeared to be broke so I had her drive it home since she was only a mile from the house. When I got it home upon further inspection I found that the rear subframe for the rearend had ripped out of the unibody frame. There cracks and rust in the frame. The vehicle has been at the Dodge dealer for the last month and half and Dodge is refusing to take fault for the manufacturing defect. Insurance has also refused to pay for it as there was no signs of an impact. I am looking at a 6000 dollar or more repair for a 12,000 dollar car that still has over 10,000 owed on it. I'm at a loss as to what do with the situation. The dealership has also said that there's nothing more they can do for me and that I just need to come get my car.

60,000 mile garage kept Durango with p0455 (evap purge hose crack) check engine light. Warranty is out (so much for my extended warranty- wont cover) and dealership wont repair without charging me. There are numerous TSB 25-002-15 regarding this problem. Issue a recall. . Rear taillights all leak water. Moisture and water is visible and the car hasn't been wet in some time. My complaint matches the others out there. Facory lights leaking causing damage to the lighting aspect and safety of my vehicle and other around me. Dealership wont replace, warranty wont cover. Pricing is absurdly high to replace. This is a safety issue and a recall need to issued. I bought this vehicle in good faith that Dodge and warranty people would take care of issues that are manufacturer related. Not so!!.

Water is in the racetrack tail light on both sides, I noticed the sound of water moving while driving, and its water in my tail light. The light are out at the bottom because of this.
Race track lighting and tailgate has condensation building up and water standing in it. This is the second time it has happened. First time was covered under warranty and this one is not.
Water has entered the "racetrack" lighting assembly on the rear liftgate causng parts of it to not function.
Water collecting on both sides of the race track tail lights on my 2014 Dodge Durango.
The center tail light in the Dodge Durango's with the racetrack set up have a leaking problem where water enters through posing a risk to the electrical system and inside of the vehicle. This basically happens whether the vehicle is in motion or parked. When it rains - water enters through the defectively sealed tail light. On facebook social media there's a fan club dedicated to Dodge Durango's where members have reported having the same problem including one person having to have their tail light fixed three times.
Roof rack is made of plastic. There are no reinforcement bars embedded in the plastic. When luggage or plastic kayaks are mounted to the top, the roof rack breaks - leading to poor anchorage of materials on the top roof and death or injury to the passengers in the following vehicles. This event happened where the roof rack came apart and damaged the Durango and potentially the car following. We walked the truck to the closest autozone and the manager helped us by using metal tie bands to secure it.

The rear sensor beeps non stop even though there is nothing behind it. I took it to the dealer and they said that they couldn't diagnose it even though I sent them a video to show them what I had been dealing with. I have also been dealing with the key fob, every time I go to lock my car it beeps once to lock and after the first beep it beeps 3 times and then unlocks my car. When the car is on and I go to open the driver side door, even with the key in the car, the car beeps and tells me the key fob is not in the vehicle. The race track light was beginning to fog up and with time we started to notice that it was filling up with moisture. It filled up to about and 1" and we managed to release the water but part of the race track light is burned out now. I still have the warranty but the dealer said that those lights are not covered and the pricing would range from $1000-$1200 to fix.
In December 2011 I purchased a new 2012 Dodge Durango citadel from northtown Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram (ndcjr), in tonawanda, NY. I am having an issues with periodic stalling without warning while driving. In April 2016 while slowing down to exit right via a thruway ramp the Durango stalled and steering wheel locked without any warning. I brought the vehicle into ndcjr on 4/30/2016 and was told that they were ¿unable to make any repairs because they could not duplicate the issue¿. In July 2016, my husband experienced the stalling while making a left turn. My most terrifying experience came in August of 2016 when I was on a main road in busy evening traffic, slowing down to merge into the left turning lane, and the car completely stalled and steering wheel locking again almost causing me to rear end the vehicle in front of me. I contacted ncdjr to inform them that this was happening again and that I needed my vehicle serviced. Northtown had my vehicle from 8/6/2016-8/30/2016 and I was again told, the vehicle could not be repaired because ¿they could not duplicate the problem¿. On the evening of Thursday, 9/29/2016 I was getting off at an expressway ramp and was sitting in rush hour traffic waiting for the light to change, and when I accelerated the car made no motion, I was again stalled without warning. Per their instruction, I contacted ncdjr and told them I was bringing the vehicle right over. They again could not "duplicate the problem" however they decided to put a tracking device on the car so that when it stalls again it can be recorded. I picked the vehicle up 6 days later on Wednesday, 10/5/2016. I feel that I have been more than patient and have been through all of the proper channels, however, I am being asked to continue to put my family, myself and others at risk by driving a car that is unsafe to have on the road in this condition.
Rented car, drove expressway about 25 miles when on a mild incline I noticed the car was not accelerating. The radio was still playing, no warning lights displayed, speedometer dropped quickly from 65mph to 10mph and no response when accelerator was depressed even all the way to the floor. The car was still in drive mode and emergency flashers worked. Traffic was heavy with semi trucks which nearly collided with car as there were no emergency lanes to move to. After about a minute or two the accelerator worked again. In the next 75 miles to a city with same rental company it occured 3-4 more times. It was a very dangerous situation and I feel lucky to have survived the nerve racking drive. The rental company has the car and "is looking into the problem" and checking the gas from speedway that was used to fill the 1/2 tank prior to driving. They say there are no recalls but I see where previous years of this model have had that problem and obviously has not yet been adequately repaired still presenting a major safety issue.
Car would stick in park. In trying to move lever from park to d, the bracket assembly holding the gear shift lever has broken. This is a common issue on 2002 Dodge Durangos. I did not know the bracket was broken at first and after putting the car in park and getting out of the car while it was running, the car slipped down into reverse. I was already around to the passenger side when it started moving. Someone could have been killed!.

I have a 2004 Dodge Durango slt 5. 7l hemi. Never had any big issues with it until in 2014 I was driving home from work on the highway when I heard a loud bang and loud knocking noises followed shortly by an abrupt shut off. I tried immediately to get to the side of the road but when I lost power steering from the engine ceizing and couldn't correct myself enough so I went down the hill off the side of the highway while trying to break with no brake booster anymore as well. I ended up running into a couple small tree's and finally stopping . Air bags didn't deploy and I only jammed my finger and hurt my back some but I only missed a larger group of tree by inches. My front bumper was ripped off, my drivers side headlight was broke as well as my grille and my windshield cracked. I took it to my mechanic and found out that the engine "hydrolocked" and a piston rod punched through my engine and broke a lot of other things internally. Needless to say the engine is gone. After doing some research I have found that there are hundreds more people that had this happen to their 04 and 05 Dodge Durango with the 5. 7l hemi. Apparently the water runs right down onto the engine and pools up and the intake is faulty so it sucks that water up and causes a catastrophic hydrolock with the engine which could kill someone if they lose power steering and power brakes within a second. I've been trying to save to get a new engine (which will cost about $3800 alone) because I bought this for too much and neither Dodge or my insurance would cover it so it's now a pile of scrap until I hopefully can get a new engine or have Dodge buy this death trap back. Dodge needs to buy these back or fix them! this is by far not an individual case and it is very dangerous and costly!.

I have a 2011 Dodge Durango only had it for two years bought it brand new. Started having trouble with it not starting. I would push the button and some times it would start then it would die, so I took it it to Chrysler told them what it was doing, so they checked it out the first time saying that the software needs to be updated, so updated and said it was fixed took it home and in a couple of days it started doing the same thing again took it back, said that they had to too put new heads on it. So they kept it for a month called and kept telling me deferent stories that they put stuff on it and still not working, then going on three months saying they were waiting on a part called tipm and it is back ordered. And that it would be October 2013 before they get it. Got mad told them to put me in another vehicle went up there . All the sudden said are car was fixed . Brought it home and the next day it died on the railroad track and gas pouring out of it. One spark we would had burned up and get hit by the train. As I speak they still have are car telling us that the mechanic didn't tighten up the screws. This is crazy and something needs to be done . Dont see how they got the part so quick after telling me that it wouldn't be there until October 2013. And they have are car going on three months why do they still have it, if the part was put on and fixed.

1. Owned car since Jan 2013. Leather started cracking immediately. Took into dealership and they said I had to get fixed. Went back to shop for something else and mentioned the cracking again and was told I could have gotten fixed but my coverage had expired. The cracking is really bad on the armrest in car. Have been over to dealership and called regarding the recall I have. It is always on backorder and someone will call when in. I have not received a call and I see this is a serious recall. Is this really important to the dealership that these recalls gets repaired. I would like to get this repaired immediately as well as my cracking leather which has been overlooked.

Power windows: approximately 2 years ago, the passenger front window slipped down and would not come up. We were told by Dodge that it would be @ $500. 00 fix (power window motor/labor). We managed to get glass up and left it alone. Not long after this, my driver window was broken by a rock and replaced by safelite, just the glass. Recently, the driver power window started acting up, fell down in door and broke. When glass was replaced 2nd time, safelite told us the following information: Dodge vehicles can only be replaced with Dodge glass and that up until @ 2 years ago, the 2 brackets holding the glass to the movable power arm was a metal bracket. This metal bracket has now been replaced with a type of plastic bracket attaching to movable power arm. Herein lies the problem: over time, the metal brackets rust from moisture (rain) losing all adhesive in it that holds glass in place. Once adhesive is gone, the glass comes out of bracket and drops into door or can fall out. Even if glass does not break, there is not an adhesive available that one can try to adhere to groove in bracket to set glass in. Therefore, the consumer is forced to purchase a new glass that has new plastic brackets that attach to movable power arm and may be rooked into purchasing new arm/motor. Now we know that passenger window problem is lack of bracket adhesive, arm/motor work fine. To make matters worse, our 2003 ram 1500 pick-up is having these same issues with both front windows! rear windows on both vehicles seem to be ok, because they are used much less. The window motors on both vehicles are fine-it is these brackets and lack of adhesion to window glass that is the problem. We could possibly be paying @ $1,500. 00 to fix 3 front windows on our vehicles. Extreme safety hazard not able to raise/lower window - safelite replacing many Dodge windows due to this exact problem.

My vehicle is a 2004 Durango limited and I have problems with my remote transmitter that locks/unlocks the doors and sets the alarm. The remote works for a short period of time then I have to open it up and adjust the brackets that hold the battery as if it's loose and I want to ensure contact. That worked for some time along with tapping it upside down so that the battery would transmit to the remote (not sure) but this is no longer working. I have two remotes and only one has worked and I have tried installing new batteries in both with no success. Sometimes I have to open the car with the key and sets off the loud/obnoxious alarm system where the lights flash and the car honks until I turn the car on and it stops. I now think that the remote transmitters are defective as I've always had issues with them locking and unlocking whenever they feel like it.
Dangerous flaw with the luggage racks. While driving the luggage rack broke and as a result the carrier came off and bounced down the interstate. No accidents resulted from this failure. The consumer would like to be compensated for the broken luggage rack or the abandoned car top carrier.
