The headrest on the passenger seat just popped open while we were driving. The rear view camera often doesn't respond immediately when we put the car in reverse or just stays black for awhile. Navigation is slow sometimes. It seems to be the the system keeps on resetting because my radio stations are erased when I turn on the car. The reprogram and it continues to do that. When we are driving there is a sound coming from the dashboard. Like a rattleling sound. We still haven't figured out what it is. There are times when we are driving and it seems like a gear is shifted when we did not step on the gas.

This has happened multiple times to me and has recently become a daily struggle. I seem to believe the electrical panel behind the dash may have a shortage of some sort. I can be stationed at a light or moving and my screen displaying the odometer will completely turn white. Some times it slowly fades away and other times just completely goes white. This happens while I'm in motion and I literally have no way to monitor my speed, other than rely on my rpms. Today, 6/22/2020, I was traveling through my neighborhood and the dash was displaying fine. I come to a stop to turn and my display begins to fade. I am not going faster than 34 mph. Eventually, the display turns completely white and my screen for the radio reboots. I purchased this vehicle used with 10k miles on it. Now I wonder why it was traded in so early.

The vehicle back up camera goes out and then the entire radio screen goes out and does not come up for days. This happens when the vehicle is in reverse and the screen goes out while driving.
My left turn signal went out, so I replaced both my left and right turn signals. My vehicle now registers that my right turn signal is out constantly, even though it is operating properly and my left turn signal does the same periodically. Since my purchase of this vehicle, I have had issues with the navigation not functioning properly. The radio display itself has a mind of it's own, this is how you operate most of the vehicles climate functions, back up camera, navigation and radio. When the vehicle comes on, it is supposed to turn on. However more often than not, it chooses to be off, and I have to wait for it to decide to turn on. If I do not have the a/c know turned off when it does this, both my front and rear defrosters will turn on full blast until the display chooses to operate properly. I have had this system updated with a usb drive at a dealership and nothing has changed. Overtly, I am not at all satisfied with how these electrical issues continue and there seems to be no resolve.
As I am driving my blinkers and radio stopped working randomly . Causing safety issues while on the road . This happens while in motion and on the road.

"takata recall" I've had several experiences with my 2016 Dodge Durango that was bought brand in June or July 2016 with 23 miles on it from a Dodge dealership. A couple months after it was bought, the car cut off while driving presenting signals of "pull over", "check engine", "power train" and more. The signals were flashing non stop. Once I pulled over, the car wouldn't start or move so I put it in park and contacted the dealership. My car was towed to the dealership and the dealership stated that the repairs lied with the computer chip(s). It was a simple update needed. My husband and I paid for that. In March/April of 2017, we experienced our car rolling into the neighbors yard while on and in park. Our home camera taped me getting out of the vehicle while in park (according to the rear lights) in my front yard on the grass and then the car moving forward of which the camera stopped recording at this moment. When I walked back outside to my car, it was rolling onto the neighbors' property. I had to run and catch it. In the later months of 2017, the gas lever stopped working. After pushing the gas button, it wouldn't open and still doesn't open, so we have to open the gas using the "string" or pulley in the trunk space of the Durango by lifting the lift gate to get to it. In December 2018, the car wouldn't start. Dodge towed it to the nearest dealership and a new battery was needed along with recall updates. January 2019, the vehicle's dashboard went out with no lighting or anything showing although the car was operable. It is currently still in the shop while my family of 5 is operating with one vehicle.

This car will completely lose power randomly. It will will shut off and turn bck on all by itself or if it shuts off I can barely touch the key fob and it will turn bck on without even turning the key!! sometimes I have to put it in neutral and turn it off and back on. This vehicle is very dangerous, unpredictable, unreliable. Have taken it to few mechanics who won't even work on it cuz they can not pin point the problem. I hve taken it to dealership and they could not find anything except for a code for sirius radio subscription , really ! they even kept it over nite and it wouldn't act up for them. Please figure this out. . . Clearly this vehicle has issues if more than one complaint is being reported. I feel like I hve a ghost car. Please figure this out. It is dangerous when my car does this on freeway. Does it going 10mph. . . . I can be pulling into my driveway at home & put it in park and bah just turns off on it's own for me. Anytime at different speeds whenever it wants, it shuts off and comes back on all on its own. Please figure this out. This car is not worth the amount of lives that can be lost. . .

While driving on no more than 65 mph the engine has shut down for no reason, and with no warning. This has happened 4 times, and all 4 times the power steering and brakes don't work. Once the car has stopped and gear placed into park I have been able to turn the ignition and the car restarts. All four times the engine is the only thing that turns off, the radio continues to play.
2005 Dodge Durango goes dead while driving on any type of road doesn't matter if on interstate or dirt road it just dies and you don't even know it as all lights and radio work. Results in lose of ability to steer, breaks, and speed. Have to put the Durango in park once it rolls to a stop than cut it off and back on for it to work again. Sometimes it will go 25 miles with out problem at other times 5 feet. No check engine light is on and took to an automotive shop and no codes reading on the diagnostic computer. Stalls while moving on highways, dirt roads, & interstates!.

The first time I had an issue with my car, my husband and I were driving on the NJ turnpike in the left lane, with cars coming up behind us over 85 mph, and the car stopped accelerating and we had to pull over and the car died. After an awful mess Dodge took it in for repairs on the radio and electrical issues. They called me to pick it up and as I drove it out of the dealership the same issue was happening and the car almost died again. Now my car screen and radio will not shut off even when the car is off. Dodge can't supply me with a rental, and my husband is in the military and I am pregnant. They were useless on the phone and I am terrified to drive in my vehicle!!.
While on a road trip in cold weather, my car's main control center screen blacked out. It had the phrase "please insert updated usb". I googled this issue. Many people said they had a usb stick to put in and it worked. I bought my car new and it did not come with a stick. I took the car to the dealership to get an update. They said it would be $45. Instead they are telling me it didn't work and I need a whole new radio at $335 plus install. So because of a radio update my day trip was ruined, because my heat and air was not working! after googling this issue it seems to be a huge problem with Dodge/jeeps. Why are they not taking care of this issue without the expense going onto the customer?!!!.

My wife along with our 4 children were driving down the expressway when our Dodge Durango lost all power. All the indicator lights started flashing on the instrument panel. If not for my wife being a safe driver god knows what could've become of my family. Car won't turn on says there is no key present. Wipers come on and off, ac blows hot air, doors won't unlock, radio turns on and off. It's very upsetting when you think you're buying a quality vehicle only to have it turn out like it did. My wife has expressed that she no longer wants to drive the vehicle as she is scared something like this might happen again.
Vehicle stationary, intermittently not starting when push button has been pressed, we can hear starter attempting to engage but will not start. Sometimes the starter continuously runs for about 10 seconds attempting to start the car and the only way to stop the starter, is you have to leave the vehicle and lock the car w/key fob. Has done this intermittently since July of 2017. The vehicle has had the fuel pump relay replaced due recall on 09/2015. The intermittent non starting issue has occurred a total of 12+ times. On two of the occurances the problems have been video taped. Had the vehicle to the dealership two different times and both times they state that they could not get the vehicle to duplicate the problem nor were there any codes in the system, therefore, they could not resolve the matter. When we tried to show them the videos they advised that they had no interest in viewing them. They also advised several times that without a duplication of the issue, that they could do nothing to resolve the issue. Dealership continues to maintain that we are the only ones that they know of that is having this particular issue.
My alternator suddenly failed causing all systems in the vehicle to fail. My abs light came on battery light came on radio powered off heat came on and it smelled like smoke the windshield wipers came on when I was at a light then I turned at light and had no control over the vehicle pulled over and turned the vehicle off since I smelled smoke. Then no systems in the vehicle worked had to use shift override to tow the vehicle. There is a p60 recall on the 160 amp alternator which isn't the alternator in my car but same year make and model as my car was recalled. The same symptoms as that recall happened to my vehicle. I believe that the recall should be applied to the same amp alternator that is in my car as well.
Navigational suddenly stopped working. Radio works. I was told by dealership I need to buy a whole new radio system. Then the gentleman said," that is so funny because two other customers one with a Jeep and one with a Dodge challenger complained about the same thing". Please investigate. I have been through the visor fire that the dealership refused to handle, jarrett Ford did all repairs and fca paid them. This is definitely an issue. Thank you.
The problem originally started about 2 weeks ago. When I switched on the rear fan (heat or ac did not matter), the entire center console (radio, blower switches, and electronic 4wd switch) would go completely dead, and the "service 4wd" light would come on. Then this started happening when I turned on the front blower or the rear blower. Then it started happening with both blowers off and the headlights on high. Now it does it spontaneously for no apparent reason with all extra electrical components (the headlights, radio, and blowers) all off. I'm thinking there is a short somewhere, but cannot identify it. So far, I have replaced the blower motor resistor, the tccm, and the ignition switch with no apparent improvement. I've also had the dash apart and checked every electrical wire I could get to for obvious shorts. No luck. The problem is getting progressively worse. I talked to the mechanic at the local Dodge dealer, and he said he thinks it's the tipm (main fuse box) in the engine compartment. He said he sees them short out "all the time, some of them so bad they actually catch fire!" (direct quote from him. ) I am now terrified to drive my Durango, but I cannot afford the hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars it's going to cost to fix the tipm, if that's what it really is. But I do not want drive it with the possibility of a vehicle fire. I've done all kinds of internet research on this, and it seems like a really common problem in the Durangos. Also, my friend who works at a salvage yard says these fuse boxes are one of their most sought after parts. Surely an electrical problem that is this common and of such a catastrophic magnitude should be a recall!.

While I'm driving down the road it could be the interstate or in town, doing 30 to 55 miles per hour depending on where I am, my husband's engine light will turn on in his 2005 Dodge Durango after the wheel begins stiffening and my lights all shut off and I am costing into opposing traffic lane or in the middle of traffic with my 4 children and myself, sometimes it is just me and once it was with my husband and children. The engine light will stay solid and all of this happens after when SUV will cut off with no warning, instantly my steering wheel gets stiff and I cannot turn, my lights go off and the radio and headlights shut off. I have no control over the vehicle at the time. This us happening more and more. This also has happened when I am coming to a stoplight or a stop sign other times when I'm coming out of a stop and the SUV is still running at that time. Very unpredictable and dangerous. No warnings, he has had the SUV 1 year.
Radio has blanked out on numerous occasions. The first time it was serviced was 2 weeks after the truck was purchased, the truck has had this issue intermittently since purchase.
Battery light came on. Made an appointment for service. Never made appointment date. A/c went out, airbag light came on, radio stopped, lights flashed, windshield wipers started. Car stalled out while driving 30 mph, lost power steering. No crash, rolled to a safe stopping area. Car was towed to dealer. Dealer said the car needed new battery. New battery was installed but check battery light was still on. After more testing, dealer said alternator needed to be replaced. New alternator was installed, but battery light was still on. Dealer put calls to Chrysler. Chrysler said possible bad new alternator replace with another new alternator suggested. New alternator replaced but same thing still happened, check battery light still on. After more calls to Chrysler, new pcm ( powertrain control module) suggested to be installed. Pcm was replaced as warranty part, no check battery light. Total cost of about $1,000. 00 for out of warranty parts. With in a week car was not starting, would crank but engine would not start or it would start and then stall out, car would finally start after 20 mins. Of trying to start car. This happened several times. Took car back to dealer. Software update was done. Still had starting issues, and running issues. After more calls to Chrysler they now believe the issue is a tipm (totally integrated power module). Tipm is on a national back order with no known release/ expected availability date. Chrysler will warranty the tipm part. Car now sits at the dealer for almost 30 days and no one has any estimate as to a fix date. Now waiting on a case manager to contact about this issue and possible rental car and refund for replaced parts. Sending off paper work for lemon law. Chrysler should issue recall but obviously will not due to lack of inventory in tipm parts.

I have a 2004 Durango limited ed, and the lights on the stereo screen dim and then turn off. The power on the stereo becomes frozen; if the radio is on when starting the car it will stay on but if it was off, it cannot be powered on. I am able to manipulate the volume via the buttons behind the steering wheel but only the am/fm mode works and not the cd or aud/alternate mode for my ipod. I'm not positive, but I believe that the controls for the heater/ac do not work either and the digital screen is off (has happened about 3 times and is unpredictable and has been months apart). After I bought the car (11/08), I noticed that the battery shut off b/c when I got back into the car and started it, all of my radio stations that were programmed and the time were reset. Also, when the stereo "freezes" like this, I can hear a load zooming/clicking sound from the speakers on top of music when playing.

I have a 2004 Dodge Durango slt from the beginning to present I have replaced the seat belt cover a whopping "4" times and have to do it again. It is made of plastic including the hooks on the back so everytime the seat belt taps on it just right it snaps the plastic brackets on the back and off it falls. I have also had to replace the stereo and am about to do it again. It sounds like it is trying to feed the cd. When you shut the front passenger door, it stops.
Cd/stereo is not working. Yh.
