I am unsure. The SUV is not pulling any codes when tested. I had two places run a diagnostic. Intermittently the SUV will stall at start up. The engine light will come on during this time. Once the Durango starts the light goes away. I was told this was a sign of a known recall issue for this vehicle.

Dodge Durango rt has developed the evap system failure. After stopping to refuel the gas tank the engine will not restart till after several attempts and even after restarting it idles erratic and sputters even to point of a miss and shuts off. Then it will restart and slowly clear up, and operate normal till the next refuel. I've had it into several repair shops and dealerships only to have to purchase parts and pay for repair and experience the issue again. Considering it's fuel vapor related and could cause a explosive or flash fire event in the dry summer season possibly if the vapors become a large enough volume under the hood or in a closed space.

Uconnect recall started in 2024 with radio disconnecting/dropping connections intermittently. Got 1st fix that fixed it briefly, then began dropping connections again. They did 3 fixes with the last one saying, finally a remedy! well 4 months later, issue begins again! the connecting, disconnecting, to reconnecting started again on my uconnect radio!! it will drop connections, reconnect then play a bit; repeat throughout. When it drops 1st time it'll reconnects on its own! after about the 2nd drop, I have to hit ok for it to reconnect, for it to drop again! it progressively gets worse at times and it will drop, reconnect 4 to 5 times within 15 seconds, & it doesn't always reconnect. I have to hit ok for it to connect! to play 15 seconds, and drop, reconnect automatically or manually 4 to 5 times back to back!! same issue, just progressively worse when it decides to do it throughout the length of a song!.
Vehicle came without any provision for flat tire. I discovered this after purchase. There is no spare tire, there is no tire inflation (fix-a-flat) provision. Contacted dealership and manufacturer and they confirmed that vehicle does not come with any provision for flat tire. Prior years, same vehicle did come with spare tire and jack. Vehicle chassis has spare tire well and is designed to hold and carry spare. Furthermore, manufacturer makes an oem "spare tire kit" that can be purchased and retrofit by dealership service mechanics at total cost of over $1,500. Manufacturer has refused to furnish me with any solution. I must pay over $1,500 only to drive safely. This is wrong. Please intervene and stop them from taking advantage of me.

There is a software defect that could result in injury or death: if you forget to turn the car off and exit the car with the car key, there is no warning. I am hard of hearing and sometimes do not notice that I did not turn the car off because I cannot hear the hum of engine, and, because the car uses a key fob, rather than an ignition key, you can leave the car with the key but while the car is still on. I park the vehicle outside, but if I parked it in an attached garage carbon monoxide could seep into the house, something that is known to occasionally result in deaths. The car's software knows that the car is on and knows that the key fob has left the car. At that point, there should be a beep of the horn to warn the driver that something is amiss. Seems like a serious liability issue for the car company and something that would be easy to fix: a software update.
From manufacturing Dodge put a clamp on a rubber hose that goes to the transmission heater. That clamped rubbed a hole into the metal antifreeze line above it. My car started over heating on a busy road. Luckily I was able to pull off without being hit. Dodge doesn’t wanna do anything about it but it’s a known issue for the Durango’s. But Dodge won’t recall the issue. Instead their wanting to charge people anywhere from 2k up to 6k depending what state you live it. The issue is known to occur around 50k miles to around 65k miles.

While driving whether it be on the interstate going 70 mph or on a back road doing 30 mph the vehicle will completely lose power and the only way I can get power back before someone hits me in my rear end is to put it in neutral real fast then turn the key and start the vehicle back or if able to get to side of road and put it in park and start the vehicle back up.
While driving on the highway, the engine overheating light came on, the car seemed to be losing power, and I pulled over and was then towed to the dealership. My safety was put at risk as I could have been hit as the car was slowing down in fast traffic; it also was extremely cold (about 5 degrees f) while I waited for the tow truck. The tow truck driver noted that I had lost coolant fluid due to a large puddle beneath the car. The dealership reported that the aluminum coolant line had rubbed against the transmission cooler and had broken through, causing a loss of fluid. The dealership replaced the coolant line and also stated that they cut an extra piece of aluminum and wrapped it around the coolant line to reinforce that line and stop it from rubbing through by rubbing against the transmission cooler. I stated that this seemed like a design defect but the dealership responded that these things just happen. I note that there appears to be a similar recall in 2022 Durango hellcats for the coolant line being subjected to abrasion from rubbing on the serpentine belt. The dealership did not return the parts to me; I do not know whether they provided them to the manufacturer for inspection.

The main control screen acts erratic while driving. A variety of outcomes happen all unprompted - apps and functions open and close, navigation maps bounce locations, phone calls place, radio stations change, volume adjusts, etc. The more worrisome part is the distraction of these things to the driver. And attempts to control the erratic behavior. If not also attempt to turn on, turn off certain aspects (air/heat included) while the system is uncontrollable. Upon researching it - the issue is widespread. Experienced by many others. Is known by the manufacturer that a factory had assembled central consoles with the wrong adhesive. Specifically one was used with a low melting point. When heated by the car heater, it delaminates the screen. Experienced first as some slight bubbling. With each reheat, the adhesive have liquifies again, creating the erratic response by the electronics if not perhaps other more worrisome damage inside the dash as it melts down. Some owners with savvy skills have disassembled the dash, separated the two parts that are adhered with the bad glue (screen and digitizer), cleaned out the adhesive, reassembled without the adhesive and found the erratic uncontrollable behavior of the center console resolved. Dealers quote $1000-$2000 prices to replace the unit, without providing confidence that the new one will be free of the same problematic adhesive. Forums are loaded with owners looking for solutions. Durango is aware. Operation of the vehicle is affected. Drivers distracted. Please look into the issue. It seems both a safety issue and an ethical issue not to fix what is clearly a simple quality issue that has become a profound distraction for so many. Vehicle was parked/backed in on a right slope. Crunk the vehicle and it instantly started rolling and we couldn’t get it to stop. My safety and others safety was at risk because the vehicle could’ve hit anyone walking in the parking lot, incoming vehicle or easily hit the building where people live. The state highway patrol did come out and have a look at the vehicle. There were not any warning lights on at all.
The racetrack and the tail light do not work at all. I went to get my Durango inspected and they couldn't do it due to this issue. There was water coming out of the hatch when a mechanic was looking at this problem. I was told even if I spent a lot of money to fix it, it probably would repeat itself. My car has not been inspected for over month due to this issue.
10/28/2024 national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) office of defects investigation subject: report of safety issue - Dodge uconnect radio malfunction the infotainment system in my Dodge vehicle, equipped with uconnect radio, has malfunctioned, affecting safe operation. The radio’s touchscreen has a “delaminating” defect, as described by a Dodge technician, causing erratic, uncommanded screen activity, sometimes leading to unintentional actions such as an inadvertent 911 call. This random, uncontrollable behavior affects critical functions like navigation, radio, and climate controls, creating a significant safety risk by distracting the driver. The issue also impacts the rear-view camera when the screen freezes. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by a Dodge technician as a screen delamination defect, who noted this is a recurring issue with uconnect in Dodge vehicles. No other entities, such as police or insurance representatives, have inspected the component, but the dealership quoted $900 for repairs since my vehicle is no longer under warranty. Given that this defect is widespread and the financial impact is substantial, I am filing this report in hopes of a broader resolution. No specific warning lamps or dashboard messages indicated the problem before it began. The erratic behavior first occurred during normal operation and has continued intermittently. I believe this issue should be investigated as it presents a serious safety concern for Dodge owners. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I purchased a brand-new 2024 Dodge Durango that has had an unresolved front-end noise since purchase. The service manager and two technicians confirmed hearing the noise, but the dealership and manufacturer have not been able to identify or repair it after multiple visits. The vehicle has also had loose bumper hardware, missing clips, loose hoses, and a defective roof rack. I am concerned this may be related to the suspension or steering, which could pose a safety risk if parts are loose or failing. The vehicle is available for inspection at any time.
On the morning of 10/09/2024, I started my 2019 Dodge Durango and exited the vehicle, after 2 minutes the entire interior of the vehicle was engulfed in flames. The drivers side seat warmer appears to have malfunctioned causing the vehicle to set of fire, including glass break, paint peeling and interior burning.

Abs module and traction control lights have come on.
Drivers headrest jumped apart on its own while sitting in my driveway. Looks like it exploded apart.
Backup camera stayed on when car was in drive, park, and neutral. Backup camera also stayed on after I turned vehicle off and opened door. The infotainment system usually turns off once car is parked off and door has been opened. This was very distracting when driving down the road. Picture was when I was in drive at a stop with foot on brake leaving a business parking lot. Taken by passenger.
Went to the Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram dealership in lawrenceburg, in last year and was told that spoiler failed a recall inspection and needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, spoilers were on back order and would take several months to get in. A month or so later, my local body shop took my Dodge Durango to the Dodge dealership in batesville, in for repairs after someone ran into my vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot. The batesville dealership did another inspection for the spoiler recall and cleared the inspection stating that the spoiler passed inspection. So now I have one dealership (lawrenceburg, in) saying that there is a "gap" and that the spoiler in fact needs replaced, but that they can't fix it because they will not be reimbursed by Chrysler since the recall for my Durango has been "cleared" by the batesville, in Dodge dealership. After contacting the second dealership, they still claim that the spoiler is fine and refuse to fix it either. I admit, I don't know what I am looking for, but I also see a gap between the spoiler and where it is attached to the vehicle. It also seems to be loose. So, my question is, what exactly is the spoiler recall on 2021 Dodge Durango's? should I be concerned that it's not getting fixed? most importantly, who will be responsible if this thing comes off and injurers someone driving behind me?.
Bought a used 17 Durangogt on July 29th 2024 notice a crack in tail light and told the used car manager about it and brushed it off now there is an issue with racetrack light and water is getting in and is now half lite the dealer said there isn’t a problem so took it to Dodge and had a 2nd option and they said it was the crack and on top of that there is a class action lawsuit against Dodge for the track light and it can cause electrical issues and license plate light and rear camera issues this is unsafe and I got a invoice from Dodge of the issue too.

While driving to the store (with my son in the front passenger seat) all of a sudden, and for no apparent reason, the front passenger seat headrest popped (came forwards) striking him in the back of the head with substantial force stun him temporarily. The startled me. He had a headache for a couple hours afterwards.
While driving paved road noticed a cloud of smoke behind the vehicle. Immediately pulled to the side of the road and shut vehicle off. After checking under the vehicle found coolant leaking from the engine compartment, there was no coolant in the expansion tank either. Any driving would have resulted in engine destruction. Called a tow truck. After waiting on the side of the road for 5 hours for tow truck, vehicle was taken to the nearest dealer on the flatbed. At the dealer, technician stated, it is a frequent occurrence on this brand of the vehicle, and they are very familiar with repairing it. Dealership repair, exposed burst/hole, from inside out, in the coolant hose. Glad it did not happen in the winter; I might not be typing this message.
This past week our 2016 Dodge Durango citadel driver side headrest pop out during the night while parked overnight outside our house. My wife discover the pop out headrest the next morning when she open the door to drive to her work. We are unable to return the head rest to its original position.

Driver's active head restraint (ahr) deployed while driving the vehicle.
The driver side headrest "deployed" and pushed the headrest to the back of my head. I was sitting in the driver seat and the vehicle was parked, and when I moved a bag from the front passenger seat to the middle row, the driver side headrest opened on it's own. I cannot compress the headrest together. My concern is this was a faulty safety deployment.
My rear spoiler fell off going down the road, and was unable to find it.
On Sunday, July 14 at approximately 1:00 pm eastern standard time the front passenger active head restraint deployed. The vehicle was being operated at the time and was not involved in any sort of collision at the time of the deployment. Our local Dodge dealer provided me the number for the Dodge customer advocate group, who are not open on sundays. The passenger in the front passenger seat was struck in the back of the head when the rest deployed, causing headache, discomfort, and some nausea.
Clogged or leaking a/c drain hose. This hose is responsible for draining condensation from the a/c evaporator, the condensation pools in large quantity on the passenger floorboard. This constitute a hazard for the electrical systems near it and a risk of corrosion not to mention potential toxic mold and basically the car self flooding. A few videos document the issue and it is due to bad design where the drain hose is oriented upward and/or the seal blocking water from penetrating the passenger cabin is cracked or falls away in time. Cars from 20+ years ago like my Dodge Durango would certainly experience a degradation of such a seal. The seal itself is very difficult to get to but the issue is pressing. This is an example of a video documenting the issue where the narrator describes this as bad design. . Read more...

Sos emergency notification service does not work. Unable to call or be located if an accident or emergency occurs.
Just bought the vehicle two months ago and have had to replace multiple things on the vehicle. The first issue was the diming lights and passenger window rolling down while driving along with remote start not working got that fixed now the car wants to turn on when it feels like it. It could be working for two weeks straight then you go to turn the car on after just turning it off five minutes prior and it does not wanna work you mess with the wires, try to jumpstart the wires and unhook the passenger seat heat and adjuster then it starts. .
Start/stop feature says it is unavailable causing vehicle to not shut off when stopped as well as causing vehicle to give message saying start/stop feature unavailable due to hood open which then causes vehicle to shut off once stopped and requires vehicle to be shifted into park and restarted for message to come back on. This issue happens when driving and once stopped causes vehicle shut off in traffic causing huge safety concerns and issues.
