1 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2013 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 10/31/2020

The driver's side headrest safety feature deployed while I was sitting stationary (parked) on a city street. The safety feature is designed to deploy during a rear end accident to prevent whiplash. The headrest burst open striking me in the back of the head without there being any rear end collision or movement of the vehicle. There was also no one sitting in the back seat that could have caused the headrest to deploy. I contacted two Dodge dealerships to inquire about recalls for this issue. The two dealerships were unaware of any recalls or issues for my vehicle. The replacement/repair cost would be at my expense.

2 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2015 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 09/23/2019

I was driving home from work on a city street just exiting a roundabout going no more than 15 miles per hour and my headrest exploded forward hitting me in the back of the head. It was quite jarring. It felt like something heavy as in my back seat and shot forward hitting my drivers seat. There were no cars around me, and nothing hit my car.

3 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2015 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 06/01/2016

I have a brand new Dodge Durango that is only a couple months old. I do not even use my back seats to sit in so I know this was not caused from wear. On the passengers side back seat you can see the foam hanging out of the seat, the seat cover does not attach to the seat it is an open area. I took my Durango to the local Dodge dealership and they said they would fix since my Durango is under warranty. They ordered me a new seat cover and they new one was worse than the first one that was on the car, they then told me this is a design flaw and they could not help me, they offered to cut out some of the foam so it would not hang out of my seat, but you can still see the inside of the seat. I am extremely upset, I paid $40,000 for this automobile and have to live with seeing the inside of my seat foam hanging out of my backseat. It is located on the inner part near wear the seatbelt buckle connects. I need help, I feel like I have been taken advantage of.

4 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 1999 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 10/18/2013

I pulled out of my driveway going in reverse and when I brake to put it into drive and start down the street my driver seat rocked back almost hitting the headrest on the back seat. If I had been in town and took off when a light turned green I could have caused an accident and seriously injured someone. My vehicle is a 1999 Dodge Durango slt gold edition 4wd 5. 2l . The end of the adjuster bar under the seat snapped right off. Before that the seat shifted forward almost an inch each time I stopped my vehicle. Not sure if that was related. I have researched this on 20 plus websites and there are hundreds if not thousands of people with both of these issues. I would hate to see someone get hurt by this obvious lack of attention in design.

5 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2007 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 02/27/2010

On February 27, 2010 we, the owners, were detailing our 2007 Dodge Durango. In order to fully detail the vehicle we opted to remove the seats in order to shampoo the carpets. In removing the bolts below the middle seat with a ratchet, two of the bolt heads below the middle seat snapped off. This concerns me deeply that the little bit of man power exerted into removing the bolts is a fraction of the power exerted in a vehicle accident. These bolts would have been easily snapped off in the event of a vehicle accident. This problem does need to be addressed in some way, shape or form. I have two children who sit in the middle seat of this vehicle 100% of the time and I should not have to wonder if, god forbid a vehicle accident occurs, that the middle seat, or any of the seats in my car for that matter, are going to stay in place because of the bolts securing them down. Please address this issue immediately.

6 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2000 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 03/01/2005

(1) I loaded some wood in the back of my Durango. (2) as I was braking to a stop, the rear seat collapsed forward, pinning my child in her car seat against the back of the seat in front of her. (3) nothing. I just unloaded the material I was carrying and left it.

7 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 1998 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 08/11/2002

The mechanical connection between the front cushion motor and the front of the seat failed, allowing the driver's seat to rock back and forth about 8 inches on the rear seat pivot. This rocking motion results in the lifting of the driver's foot from the brake or gas pedal, and a possible loss of vehicle control. If backing up, especially while on an incline, and the brake is applied, the seat will rock to the rear, lifting the driver's foot from the brake pedal. If the accelerator is hit too hard in drive, the foot is lifted from the accelerator, resulting in a sudden loss of vehicle control. .

9 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2001 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 06/10/2001

The "tumble forward" second row seat leaves a sharp edged floor anchor exposed when the seat is tumbled forward for access to the third row seat. So far, both my son and I have received deep lacerations from this floor anchor. If an occupant were to come in contact with this component in an accident, it could easily cause serious injuries especially to the feet.

10 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 1999 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 09/01/1999

Rear seat folds down unexpectedly. If the rear occupant was in a crash, rear seat may fall down and cause injuries. Dealer replaced rear seat, but problem is still occurrring. Please provide further information.

11 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 1999 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 04/18/1999

The seat releases on the middle row of seats on the passenger and driver side are very diffficult to release and make it virtually impossible to get someone out of the third seat quickly if there were an emergency. Many times you must reach through the middle seat to get to the release on the back of the seat and use it to pop the seat. I believe this to be dangerous as well as inconvenient.

12 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 1999 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 01/26/1999

Rear seat vibrated loose and during an emergency stop it came forward striking driver in the head resulting in momentary unconsciousness. The seat has come loose on two more occasions since first incident. Nlm.
