While driving my 2012 Dodge Durango I noticed my gear would shift to manual in the 4th gear without me having to move the gear stick. I did some research and found that this was common in a lot of Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler vechiles. I take my care in for regular inspections and make sure my car is running. I think this is a manufacturing mishap and needs to be addressed. I was told it was my transmission cycloid.

After backing out of parking space put vehicle in drive. Upon placing my foot on accelerator I noted that vehicle barely moved. Looked to see if vehicle was in drive. Display read 4. Attempted several times to put vehicle in drive without success. Had to put vehicle in park, turn engine off and the restart. This was the first time this has occurred. Vehicle at dealer now. This incident occurred 1 day after I noted vehicle was not shifting into gear when placed in drive or reverse. Would have to wait, after moving gearshift, before transmission would actually shift to drive or reverse. At one point I placed foot on accelerator when transmission had not shifted and vehicle lurched backwards.
I was on my home from work going about 40mph. I got to a redlight before I stopped the SUV jerked. And when I press the gas paddle to go , the SUV would not move. I then tried to put it in another gear it was on but it still would not move. The police officer that pushed it out of the street said that it was the transmission. Also you can jst be driving the SUV would just stop. This is very dangerous, and can cause accidents. On one occasion I had to nearly run off of the road to keep from having and accident. I think that Chrysler llc should replace my 2005 Dodge Durango. Being that I'm a single grandparent and now I have no transportation. So I can't get to work to provide for my granddaughter.

Transmission slipped out of gear in middle of intersection, would not go back in gear. Vehicle was towed, according to dealership just needed transmission service. The service was done and vehicle broke down again- same problem- two weeks later. This time dealer claimed vehicle was low on transmission fluid ( even though service was done 2 weeks/ 50 miles prior) transmission now shifts rough from first to second and third to fourth gear. According to dealer nothing is wrong with transmission.
My steering all of a sudden was loose and scary to drive. I checked my powers steering fluid to find that I was almost completely out. So I filled it. One day later it was down again. I took it to a shop and found out my rack and pinion needed to be completely replaced, at 75000 miles. I have had plenty of vehicles over 150000 miles and never replaced a rack and pinion. This just seems to bizarre for me. Also my transmission sometimes wont go into gear when I shift for a few seconds and then it will click in. It doesn't matter if its cold or warm either. When I took it to a shop they drove it for a couple days and couldn't find a problem but it still does it.

My Durango is always serviced when needed. Oil is changed every 3000 miles or 3 months which ever comes first. Last time it was taken to the dealership for service everything checked out ok. All of a sudden after 2,000 the transmission goes out. I called daimler Chrysler to ask if it had a warranty they responded that the warranty was for 36,000 miles or 3 years. I have taken it to 2 mechanics and they have both said that I need a new transmission. When my Durango was connected to the computer to see what the problem was it only indicated that it needed the speed sensors replaced, I did that and it still has the same problem. It shifts into 1st and 2nd gear but not into 3rd gear.
Consumer put vehicle in drive while foot was on the brake, while easing off the brake, the vehicle jerked and went backward causing the driver door to hit the consumer in the face and the consumer to fall out onto the pavement, consumer noticed that the gear shown was drive not reverse.
Automatic transmission failed to shift gears while driving. Rpms have to reach a high level before transmission shifted into passing gear. Vehicle taken to dealer, and informed consumer nothing could be found. Please feel free to provide any further details on this matter.
While driving the vehicle or starting/parking and then stopping the vehicle goes from park to another gear without letting driver touch the brake or pedal. Contacted dealer, they don't know anything about a problem within this vehicle.
