1 O2 Sensor problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2013

The brain of the van has gone bad in under 8 years, causing van to read bad O2 sensor reading even after changing them. This causes the vehicle to stutter and idle rough and die while driving. When making repeated stops shutting down and turning vehicle back on, makes the conditions worse. It's been narrowed down to brain as automatic door locks do not work at all. Whether from key fob or using switch inside vehicle. This was family vehicle driven daily, but refuse to put kids in unsafe car.

2 O2 Sensor problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

The power door locks don't work. Tailgate is stuck in unlocked position. All other locks have to be operated manually, there is no way to lock the tailgate manually. Removing and reinserting the fuse fixed the problem for several weeks at a time. Eventually removing the fuse stopped working. I researched and found that there was a service bulletin on this that the repair was to flash the body controller. This issue also is causing a p0135 code which is for an O2 sensor heater. This code comes up even after replacing the O2 sensor. This issue is a safety concern with the tailgate not being able to lock which is an easy way for someone to get into the vehicle and either carjack it or steal it, or belongings. As for the p0135 code it has caused me to chase money after an emissions problem that really does not exist. The controller can only be flashed by a Dodge service center and they first want to charge to diagnose an issue that is commonly known about, and then pay for the fix. I need to get the p0135 code cleared in order to pass the emissions test and get the license sticker, otherwise I cannot drive this vehicle.

3 O2 Sensor problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2009

2005 Dodge Grand Caravan sxt - bought used from barreth car dealership in washington, mo in Aug. 2009 - 45000 miles locks stopped working - still wont work unless fuse is pulled over and over again and again - oxygen sensors stopped working ac/heater fan stopped working.

4 O2 Sensor problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2007

I am concerned with overall quality control on this vehicle. I purchased this vehicle new to provide safety and comfort for my growing family. I was disappointed in the vehicles performance and gas mileage during the first several weeks of ownership. I returned the vehicle to the dealership and they replaced the oxygen sensor units that they said where defective. Several months later the heater/air conditioning blower went out. Next with less than 20,000 miles on the vehicle I had to replace the brakes. Now with less than 28. 000 miles on the vehicle I noticed that the passenger side floor was soaked, the vehicle was making unusual sounds when turning and the passenger side door would not close automatically. At the dealership I found out that the rack and pinion steering unit had failed along with the the cable on the passenger side door. On investigation of the water leak the dealership found that the passenger side pillar had not been sealed properly to the roof causing water to run into the van and rot the carpet. While the vehicle is in for repairs the dealership is also replacing the heater/air conditioner blower which is making grinding sounds again.
