The tmpi on a 20008 Dodge Grand Caravan needs to be recalled. Used car lots are disconnecting the horn and selling the 20008 Grand Caravan for up to 10,000 dollars to customers who are unaware that any time the caravan will become disabled while driving on any street or highway because the tmpi is faulty and caravan wipers will spray continuously wiper fluid on windshield. ( the horn will blow continuously if not tampered with and disabled. As in this situation with the 20008 Dodge Grand Caravan. Resource . Customer reviews and complaints filed against Dodge Chrysler corporations) caravan will not excel over 30 miles an hour. When caravan is finally parked the engine will not turn off. Caravan will not go into drive or reverse. Engine continuously idles while on the back of the wrecker/flatbed with the keys removed and then finally shuts its self off. Another issue. . . . The used car lot owner will then repossess said vehicle and sell it to another unsuspecting customer who will buy the caravan that needs to be recalled because the cost of said vehicle repair part (tmpi) is $1,080. 00 and $115. 00 labor cost to fix the repair an hour. Several times my van, whether I have warmed it up or just got in and took off, will spontaneously die. Usually with in the first mile of driving. Usually I just slip it into neutral and restart. This doesn't usually bother me since I live over a mile from any significant traffic but, it happen twice over our family get together in st louis. Scary sitting in a busy intersection and your car is dead. Has always been while the van is in motion. Not really associated with any turning. This happens about 4-10 times a month. Started about 3-4 months ago.

Car just quits running at any time. Recall was done to fix some control module and new fobs. Not fixed.
While driving around 45 mph on southbound ga125, the water temperature started to fluctuate and I smelled antifreeze burning. I stopped at a gas station and steam rose from hood. Under the hood, fluid had sprayed from the heater hose "y-pipe". Antifreeze saturated the under-hood blanket and covered the engine. All of the antifreeze was purged onto the ground and in the engine bay. This is the second time I've had to replace this exact part. The first time the vehicle was about 3 years old (2011) I had it replaced at my local Dodge dealership (cass burch valdosta, georgia) today the same part failed in the exact same manner. Please investigate a manufacturer's recall, or at least a better quality replacement part. Plastic and hot fluid apparently don't mix.
For a few days my van has been having issues starting. (not battery) every light on the dash bored has been popping on. Then all the dash lights go out and so do the head lights. We were driving at night. Parked the car for a minute and let it run. It shifted out of park into drive and drove up a little knoll and into a parked car. No one was in or around the van. My bumper was damaged. Luckily no one was hurt. I am a mother of 4 young children. This is a very dangerous situation. Today it rain a bit but prior to today it was not raining. When in parked, lights and wipers were in the off position but they continued to stay on. At a very fast rate it would idle up and down quickly. We refuse to even turn on the van for I am scared of what may happen.

Over the last year I've had to replace the heater hose 3 times in the last year. Each time costing me $400. Recall!! I've already had 5 recalls since I bought it so obviously they are made poorly.
I was driving about 25 miles down the street, when the car suddenly shut off and jerked to a stop. The windshield wipers in the front and the back of the vehicle started moving without my turning them on. The horn started honking by itself. I was in the middle of the street and cars were driving past my vehicle extremely fast and I feared for the safety of my two children. I continued to try to start the car to get out of the way of the fast moving cars, but the vehicle would not restart for another 20 minutes. Once I was able to get the car out of the intersection, the horn would not stop honking and the windshield wipers kept going even though I did not have the key in the ignition. The doors kept locking and unlocking on its own and I was unable to get out of the car with my two children without assistance from my family members who arrived to assist me. The car has not been driven since this incident and remains parked.
Call switched from on to acc . There are no additional keys nor key chains on the fob. Why is it taking so long for recall repairs to be made????????.
I was driving at 45 mph when suddenly van revved up from 1500 rpm to 3500 rpm, and speed went down to 30 mph. Somehow I got my car to my work place and parked it. I suspected my transmission had gone bad. I decided to take my car to a transmission shop. I drove the van at 30 mph at 3500 rpm to the transmission shop. Their technician drove the van around, did some other inspection and reported that there was no problem with my transmission. However he mentioned there was a electrical power loss which made my van go into limp mode. Remarkably my van started driving normally after the inspection. I took my van to authorized Dodge dealer. They pulled some codes from the computer which indicated power loss to several equipment. They suspected the tipm module, but did not have hard evidence from the codes. They advised me to leave van overnight at the service area, and have them check it out. I declined because arranging alternate transportation was difficult. Today morning, while driving the van, wiper blade suddenly started running. It stopped on its own after few cycles. Now I am unable to start the van. Reading through forums where drivers have experienced similar issues, I am confident it is the tipm on my van. It is a safety issue, since I drive on the freeway a lot, and if van goes into limp mode, it will be a hazard. Looks like Dodge is aware of this issue. Why dont they accept the situation and deal with it by issuing a safety recall and fixing the tipm. Please force Dodge to issue recall, else I will need to spend $1000 atleast to fix tipm.
The vehicle started on it's own, along with the doors locking and the lights came on. The keys were not anywhere near the vehicle and it does not have remote start. It just came on completely by itself.
Vehicle just quits. Only thing showing is the anti lock brake light. Have taken to dealer and there have been no codes associated with these continuing problems of the engine quiting. This has happened on numerous occasions.

My car turned off completely when the key fob turned by itself. My vehicle narrowly missed being rear ended by a tractor trailer, whose driver driver jumped out screaming at me. I reported the problem to the dealer and he said car had been recalled for that problem, they did not have the part. I drove from SC to NJ! scary. Recall number is l25/nhtsa14v-373. I also reported this to Chrysler on sept 25, 2014. My case number is 8r117647. My van turned off a second time. I have contacted chryler three times on this matter and they have no idea when the part will be available. They refused to pay for a rental car saying that the part would be available anywhere from a few weeks to up to a year. Your website says that the part is available but my dealership said they do not have the part as of today. Can you please help? I am scared to death to be out driving. Any help would be appreciated.

This relates to Chrysler safety recall l25 for wireless ignition node. Our van shuts off while driving without any warning and there is no steering and braking. This is the primary vehicle we carry 2 young children in and it is extremely upsetting that this recall has not been addressed. Our van shut off 3 times in the last 2 weeks while carrying our kids. The local dealership reports there is a national back-order and no parts are available to fix it. How is this possible? what are we supposed to do? this is very unsafe and totally unacceptable! please help!.
My vehicle stops running while driving down the road. . . . . . . This happened occasionally but is happening more frequently. This morning it happened while driving around a curve and I nearly wrecked.
Van shuts off while driving loses all power, wipers come on horns starts going off. Now today van is in driveway parked ,I'm in the house and the alarm and wipers go off. Call dealer they have no clue. People could get killed do they want a general motors issue on their hands as from reading on line this seems to be a major issue with this make and model.
Vehicle started accelerating unintentionally with engine going to high rpm. Driver was driving at 45 mph as vehicle randomly took off. Vehicle reached close to 85 mph with the brake pedal pressed to the floor. Driver avoided a near collision with another vehicle. Driver turned the ignition off in order to stop the vehicle. Vehicle had two people inside during the incident and two witnesses following the vehicle behind, in another car. Witnesses described seeing the Dodge caravan take off suddenly beyond the legal speed limit, with smoke pouring out from the brakes and the brake lights on. Driver described that he felt the throttle pedal physically stuck and the vehicle¿s rpm increasing, even while pressing and pumping on the brake pedal. After this incident and doing some research, we have found numerous complains online with similar situations. The Dodge caravan, in this incident, does not have any aftermarket floor mats as Dodge claims to be the cause of unintentional acceleration in similar occurrences that have been reported to Dodge. The driver, passenger, and the witness are willing to make a statement, if necessary.
I was driving 75 on the highway and my car just turned off. It has done it three times since then. I took it to the Dodge dealer and they said nothing was wrong with it because they could not duplicate the proplem.
The engine keeps on shutting off while I am driving. The first time I was backing out of my driveway. It sounded like the key popped out but it was still in the ignition. The second time I was just pulling off to drive. I was going under 10 mph and I hit a bump and the engine just turned off whle I was driving. The third time I was driving down a residential road going about 30 mph and the engine just turned off again. So dangerous.
Car's engine automatically turned off while driving on road. Lost all power.
While driving at low speeds the vehicle loses power and shuts off resuling in loss of power steering making manuevering and controlling vehicle difficult. Mechanics unable to diagnose problem. Have driven and experienced problem but have no solution.
This vehicle has an outstanding recall issue l25 wireless ignition code. We purchased the vehicle in April 2014 at which time we have experience a handful of complete shut down of the vehicle while traveling up to 35 mph. Daily the ignition must be turned 4-5 times before starting or will start and immediately shut down. We have removed all extra keys and key chains as stated by Chrysler. Calling Chrysler has been unsuccessful as they have a recording claiming the recall parts are not available at this time and wait times for over 15 mins will not still allow you to talk to someone in person. Therefore the local dealership is unable to repair. Is gm offering a free loaner until this vehicle is declared safe? I have a payment and do no longer wish to drive this vehicle. I have also tried to sell it for over a month with no luck. We are honest people and would inform buyer of outstanding recall unlike the dealer in which we purchased from. We have contacted our auto lender do start paper work on a voluntary repossession, however this will impact our credit greatly and we will also be responsible for the defaulted difference between the auction price and our loan.
