This vehicle has an electrical issue resulting in the vehicle not starting have found that it keeps burning up relays.
Antilock brake system went out at 50,000. This shows up as wheel sensor. This is a major safety issue. Plus you can not find part hardly.
Everything to do with the braking system needs to be recalled including the sensors. 2018,2019,2020 I had to replace brakes, calipers, rotors, and hub assembly multiple times. This is not normal to keep replaces these parts. Many people experienced this problem and I sure many others will. There needs to be a recall on this.
When I be drivering on city or on the hightway the van will shut off and go to the acc off mode and the van will just stop then I have to restart back up.
For the past couple years my van just turns off when I'm driving. Nobody can figure it out. Then my doors randomly open. This happens anywhere. Interstate or in town. Steering wheel locks up and I have to put in numeral and start. This happens daily.
Ignition shuts off randomly when driving or in reverse while backing up. Has happened over 30 times in the last 2-3 yrs. I was crossing a busy road & it shut off. Driving up my drive way & it shuts off. Backing out of my driveway & it shuts off. The last time it happened was 5/5/2020.
When driving down the road it will without warning lose power and shut off. It has even had a problem where all the warning lights flash and the windshield wipers start, while the control is off.
Driving down the road my vehicle shut off! very dangerous!.
My 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan , I just purchased this van from car company in warsaw indiana! I took it back to car company twice to see what's wrong with it and these more or less told me they couldn't help! while driving down the road my van shuts off! I lose brakes, steering all power ! put in neutral start it and keep going! sometimes 2 or 3 times in a 5 mile radius.
My husband was driving our 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan down a residential street when suddenly in traffic the vehicle ignition shut off. Because the vehicle was going 30mph it didn't just stop and he could no longer control it. The van hit the back of another vehicle at full speed causing the air bags to deploy in the van. No one thankfully was hurt but our vehicle has been declared a total loss. We have contacted mopar since the accident occurred on 3/18/2020 and have received the runaround. Because the ignition just cut off we contacted a Dodge dealership to have the VIN number checked and were informed of the open recall that can cause exactly what occurred with our vehicle. We were directed by the dealership to contact mopar. We just purchased this vehicle at an auction in January 2020 we were never notified about a recall on the vehicle. The vehicle recall number is r03.
Vehicle accelerated rapidly, from around 20 mph to excess of 70mph. When brakes were applied no effect was noticed. Pumped brakes and became to stiff to push down, speed continued to climb. Rpms at max. Tried to put in neutral but panicked and put in reverse. Causing a slamming halt and loud noise. Engine became so loud I thought it might explode. Tried to put in neutral and symptoms continued. Shut off engine, restarted, symptoms continued. Less than 1000 ft from home a s was hoping to to get in driveway, put and drive and it peeled out, engine still revving, brakes still stiff. Shut off and wait several minutes. Restart and symptoms gone. Happened to wife about one week later on ramp merging to interstate. Having been forewarned, she was able to slip into neutral, kept foot on brake, no pumping and coast to stop. After leaving off for several minutes was able to restart and make it home without issue. Took it to nearby mechanic, which looked at the throttle body, but they did believe it to have resolved issue, did not charge me and recommended to go to dealer. Did not drive most of the year due to covid19. Eventually took to dealership for recall and to specifically diagnose acc. Issue so we could meet some family out of state. They fixed a few non related issues and recall. Did not fix acc. Issue, or even put on receipt that they looked at it. When asked to print me new receipt so I could have proof that it was at least brought in for that issue, clerk told me it would mess up receipt in their filing so instead wrote it in with initials. Called Dodge customer support because tr. Fluid leaking after dealer worked on it. He told me that it was impossible to leak since it was a closed system and asked if he could help me with anything else. I mentioned the acceleration, he cut me off and started to talk about tr. Fluid again and transfer call to a local shop. Asked again if there was anything else. I said the acceleration and then he abruptly transferred call.
Driving on highway at 70mph. The car turned off and the "traction control" idiot light turned on. I managed to struggle to get it over to the side of the highway (I-294 in chicago is not easy!) and put the car in park. With the car in park, I was able to restart the car and continue on our trip. This is the 3rd time this has happened since November 2019.

Two things happening occasionally. . . 1st is that sometimes I attempt to start the van and when I turn the key nothing happens as if I didn't even try to turn the key. One time just before this happened I could not use the key fab to unlock the door to the van, almost like the battery to the van or fab was dead, however both were new or fine. After pulling fab out of ignition and trying a second time van has always started without incident. 2nd issue is that on a few spread out occasions the van will quit shifting gears while excellerating causing the rpm's to rev dangerously. So far after getting to a safe place and turning the van off and restarting has cleared the issue. . . However is unclear what is causing and is very dangerous when you are on the highway before you realize whats happening.
The key fob locks the car if lightly bumped. The danger is leaving the keys in the car and closing a door which triggers the lock. This could lock one out in freezing weather or lock a child in the van when parked and closing the drivers door then trying to open the rear door to get a child out. I spoke to my office employee and similar problems with Dodge key fobs happen to her and a friend.
Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. Contact stated that while driving 25 mph, making a right turn without waring the vehicle steering wheel sized and the vehicle lost power. Contact manged to coasted to the shoulder placed the vehicle in park turn the vehicle on which resumed back to normal. A couple days later the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle but was unable to duplicate the issue. The technician test drove the vehicle inspected again and determined that the crankshaft senor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure recurred intermittently. The contact mentioned NHTSA campaign number: 11v139000 (electrical) as a possible solution to the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that no recalls were under the VIN. No dealer contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 73,000. Ck.
While driving the 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan it will just shut down. While trying to figure out the problem I found 2 recalls for electrical issues both having to do with the vehicle shutting down while driving. When I entered my VIN it showed one that needed the ignition and fobs replaced. We took it to our local dealer tri-star of indiana and they say the recall was completed in June of 2016. I can't find any paperwork on this and it still shows up. Even if it was done, it's obvious it needs done again because their replacement parts are defective just like the ones they replaced. I already informed them if anything happens to my family or me while driving this, they will be the first names on the law suit the Dodge for not fixing the issue correctly the first time. This happens in town, on country roads, sitting at stop lights. The last time it happened my daughter was taking her kids to the doctor on Tuesday 12/3/2019.
Engine shut off on 2 occasions while driving 40 mph on city road. Luckily no traffic so no crash. Power steering and power brakes went out as well. Dealer said no open recalls. This sounds like wins recall that impacted some 2010 caravans.
I recently purchased a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. The car shuts off on me while driving . It will start back up after you put it in park and turn it back on but it just shuts off . It shut off on me twice on the highway with my kids in the car and four times while driving in the city. It makes this weird noise when turning left and the lights are flickering on and off. If that's not enough the doors seem to just open and close on there own the trunk shut on me while I was getting groceries out. I brought the car into the shop and they said they can't duplicate the shutting off and claimed they fixed the door opening in it's own problem . Well the doors continue to open and now they are hard to open with the key and you have to manually open them . This is a safety concern and the dealer is claiming there is nothing wrong please help me.
Vehicle hard starts when key in ignition and turned to on position vehicle does not always start when key in ignition vehicle engine shuts off for no reason while driving in traffic I have taken it to the dealer in my area they say there is no recall on it I have asked them to replace my gear selector and ignition switch they said it would be $1100 and I paid that but all they did was grease the pin in the gear selector and charged me the $1100 anyway and I'm still experiencing the same issues continually happens spiratically.
The vehicle sliding door has locked and will not open with the key nor manually. The door is locked in position.

Sometimes driving down highway, and in parking lots and sometimes backing out of my carport. . My foot usually on brake but a few times it wasnt. This is the short version on my 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan that has 180,000 miles.

The van started randomly shutting down/turning off/stalling (however you want to term it) while in drive and in motion. Happens at any speed, any road conditions, all gas levels, and any temperature. Last occurrence was 4 times in less than 10 mins. 3 separate mechanics have no idea what's wrong and since it can't be produced at will, they are unable to diagnose. It's only a matter of time before something happens and results in an accident. This has been ongoing since September 2018.
My van was repaired under a factory recall on March 21, 2016. On paper, it's called "r-03 ignition mode". Prior to that the car would have trouble starting, sometimes not able to start it at all. The repair fixed it and I was issued a new key. About a year ago, it started again. This time though, it always starts after it turns over for 3-10 seconds. Occasionally it won't start the first time but always starts on the second try. We have had it to a mechanic over the past year three different time, and they all think it's a problem that the dealership needs to handle. They have not been able to find the problem despite us spending over $500 replacing things they thought it might be. I have tried using the other key and the same problem happens. The problem has gotten worse over the months. At first it would only do it once in awhile. For the past six months at least, it does it every time I try to start the car.

The speedometer flatlines and the lights flicker indicating brakes, traction control, abs, battery, temp, and direction. A warning dings and it goes on and off a few times with all the flickering. Pull onto the side of the road and upon applying brakes to a full stop the car feels like it stalls and then comes back in without assistance. Now the clock has reset to 12:00. Turn off car and restart all clear for now. All is well until it randomly happens again. Scary with kids in the car or in the winter. Not cool Dodge. . . . Not cool at all!.
