Air Conditioner Problems of Dodge Grand Caravan

Tipm - total integrated power module failure. Car intermittently won't start, keeps the fuel pump on draining the battery, radio won't work, air conditioning. I replaced the battery the first time it drained it thinking the battery went bad. Cost me 3 times in towing charges. Felt like it was stalling while driving a few times. Can only be repaired at the dealer's and they say it is over $1,500 to repair.

Anytime that I try to turn on the air conditioner or the heat, regardless of the control setting, the driver's side only blows cool and the passenger and rear only blows heat.

Air conditioning suddenly went out. Took car to the Chrysler dealer I purchased from. The rear air conditioning had quit. The txv had failed and was leaking freon. Calling outside mechanics for a repair estimate, they are well aware of this issue. A simple internet search will tell you this is a very common problem related to the ac. The repair was done by Chrysler dealer. I called Chrysler they made a case. Chrysler is aware this is a common issue they did help with costs.

First winter in montana for us in this van. Now the weather is turning warm. The first time we used the air conditioner and there was a problem. The passenger side air does not switch to cold air. This half blows hot, hot air at the same time the drivers side blows cold air. I see there has been a recall on 2014 and 2012. Diagnostic so far will cost $75. 00.

2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. . I was thankfully sitting infront of the high school waiting for my daughter to come out. My van was running. I had radio on and windows down. Nothing else on no air conditioning or anything. The dash lights all come on all of a sudden and off. Van is dead. I turn the key off and back on and nothing. I get jumped. Drive the 4 blocks to my house barely get in the drive and parked. I couldn't even get the windows up. About 2 hrs later my neighbor comes over to jump me again so I can get my windows up. Get them up. We were going to take it to advance to get it hooked to their gadget. I didn't get two houses down before I had to pull over because my van didn't know what gear it was in. My back up camera was even on. If this happened on the highway my children and I could have easily been killed.

I purchased this used handicapped equipped Dodge back on June 26, 2015. The spare key didn't work, so I went to larry miller Dodge in peoria, az to see if I could get it fixed. They said there was a recall on the van, and it would be foolish to purchase another key, as the recall would necessitate replacement of both keys anyway. I have called them twice since that time and am still waiting for them to call me back to schedule the recall work. In the meantime I don't have a spare key, so I'm unable to leave the van running without it. My wife is a paraplegic and sometimes has to sit in the van while I run into the store to pick up something. When it's more than 100 degrees outside she gets extremely hot because the air conditioning isn't running. The spare key would allow me to leave the van running and lock it up until I can get back to the van. The last time I spoke with the dealer, they told me they would put a "priority" on the recall service, but that was more than a month ago, and I still haven't heard anything from them. This is really getting frustrating.

I got this car on January 17, 2015, I was not told it has not an alarm included, I assume that as air conditioning, alarm was included, on Feb 19 while my car was parked, a thief broke the back window, vandalizing the car body and stealing my prescription glasses. All people at work and friends asked what happen with the alarm, then I asked the dealer (Dodge at 321 front street in toronto) and after hesitations, they said it has not. I feel cheated, and today I am sure this is a flaw of the car, other issues is, those ventilation back windows are another big flaw, being manual in my car, they open from inside just pulling them, this is unbelieving, so this car has not any security at all. I don't understand how the car safety regulators allow the manufacturer come with a car with such huge flaws.

The air conditioning broke. After several trips to the mechanic which included several fillings of a/c refrigerant (which all leaked out in the environment), dye, and hours of labor, he was still unable to find the leak. After going to a different a/c specialist, they were able to find the leak in the discharge hose. The mechanic stated this was not uncommon for this make and model, as this hose design was faulty. More specifically, it is too short. The new discharge hose (part# 4677577ac) came directly from the dealer and is longer than the original hose. This says to me that Dodge admits the old part was faulty, as they are replacing it with a longer hose than was initially put in the vehicle. After all was said and done, the cost was nearly $600 to fix this issue, not to mention damage done to the environment, which all could have been avoided by replacing a simple hose.

At 30,015 miles my air conditioner stopped working and blowing hot air. I have take it to the dealership, where I had bought it brand new and was told since it was over 30,000 miles it was not covered by warranty. Only 15 miles over. I am a 70 year old woman on a fixed in come. You purchase a new vechile and expect things to work or last past 30,000 miles. Shame on Dodge and Chrysler for not backing there products.

Air conditioning blowing hot air. Since 09/10/09, I have had the air conditioner repaired five times. The last repair on o5/21/13 I'm tired of the expense that I can't afford anymore being a retired 73 yr. Old widow. I put minimum miles on the van . The milage to date(06/18/13) is only 29247.

My minivan's air conditioning stopped working so I took it into the dealer. This car already was in for a recall on the rear air conditioning/heating lines which were replaced in November of 2006. The dealer told me that it was not the recall lines that were leaking but the rear extension lines which are after the recall lines. The parts are also on backorder for well over one month or more. I was told that they were having a lot of repairs on this part. I cannot help but believe that the original recall for rear air conditioning/heating lines should have included the rear air conditioning/heating extension lines also. Bear in mind that my van is around 3 1/2 years old with 42,112 miles on it.

Multiple issues with 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. Both power windows have stuck down over the past 2 1/2 years. Dealership looked at windows said there was nothing wrong with the drivers side and replaced the regulator in the passenger window but it doesn't work all the time still and they charged me over $500 to fix. Sliding doors seals have buckled and had to be replaced and the air conditioner has had 2 failures and a fuse replacement.

2005 Dodge Grand Caravan developed problems with the heating and air conditioner system. ** answer required***. While driving the a/c lines blew. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer who explained that this was a known problem with the air and heat. The problem could not be fixed because the part was on back order.

The air conditioner functions intermittently. All of the usual items were checked, I. E. Compressor and lines checked for leaks, system charged. The dealer has told me that the part that they need to fix the problem is, in his words, "on double secret back order". He said that the star master techs at daimler-Chrysler will not release the part yet because they are not done checking it out to see if there are any other issues with them. He also stated that he has a stack of work orders with a similar problem, all waiting for the a/c control module (which is the part needed apparently). Normally it would not be a problem, but my wife drives the Grand Caravan and normally has our sons in the car and the temperatures lately have been very high causing undue stress on her and the children.
