1 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 12/20/2019

I bought a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan in February 2019. December 20, 2019 I was driving home and all of my dash lights and warnings came on, my windshield wipers came on, and the odometer and gas gauge went down while turning onto my home street. . We took it to a Dodge dealership and after looking and testing things they said it was the instrumental cluster panel.

2 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 05/21/2019

Over the past 2 months our 2012 Grand Caravan has been having an unknown issue. We will be driving along normally then the power and engine will all cut out this has happened in multiple environments from crossing railway tracks to running down a smooth road, thankfully this has not happened yet on the highway, we are left coasting with no power steering or anything until we can safely stop put the van in park and restart the engine. The van restarts every time straight away with no problems. The other day before we took the van to the local Dodge dealership for them to investigate the issue, the console stayed with no power but I was able to start the engine, the fan and radio also worked at this point, after driving 5 to 10 meters the dash console came up with all the gauges working again. It has now been to the dealership twice now and they are unable to replicate the issue or know of a cause. After reviewing forums it seems that other van's from various years are having the same issue. Sometimes when it does it, it catches itself at the last second and the engine stays on and the console comes back up to normal though this is maybe a 1 in 5 occurrence. One of the times it happened we put our fixd in the care and the screenshot attached is what information it showed, the dealership only found 1 of these 4 fault codes.

3 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 07/20/2017

About 3700 miles the a/c stopped blowing cold air. Vehicle equipped with r134a. Put my gauges on vehicle way low add some stop leak w/leak detector. Found that the valve in rear a/c leaking. Around same time driver rear sliding door stopped unlocking and opening, the child lock lever moved by itself. So I moved it back to disable and that worked for about a weak. Then it started to make a noise like gears were jammed or rubbing together and then it just stopped. Dorr remains unlocked now w/no sound from actuator. Transmission seems to slip and lose power.

4 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 10/08/2016

After parking my car, after about 5 minutes, the horn started blowing, the wipers, front and rear started running and the washers started spraying. The door locks started locking and unlocking on their own. The car, when started had no dash lights, or gauge function. The drivers electric seat started adjusting itself. Radio came on and off on its own. Car acted like it was possessed. I had to unhook the battery to make everything stop. Please note, the car was parked in my driveway when all of this occurred.

5 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 03/17/2016

During a March 2016 road trip to atlanta, GA, from michigan, while traveling about 65 mph on I-75, temperature gauge needle began to climb toward the red zone on the instrument dial. Within minutes I pulled off onto a highway construction site where I stopped the vehicle and turned off the ignition switch. Opening the hood, I began to investigate the problem(s). Cool upper radiator hose. Cool radiator cap. Turned cap off and discovered no coolant in radiator. No apparent source of leaking. Added ice water from ice chest to radiator hoping to locate source of leak. Turned engine on and located leak beneath passenger side of vehicle: two small holes in corroded exposed steel tubing routing coolant to rear heater assembly in rear of van. The next day discovered that Chrysler had changed the part from steel to aluminum in late 2000's to help prevent the corrosive action of road salt in the northern climates that had affected many similar vehicles during the mid-2000's. However, daimler Chrysler chose not to institute a recall of the faulty designed part fully exposed beneath the vehicle. The cost of replacing the part at the dealership in stone mountain, GA, was around $650. 00 usd, not a huge sum, but obviously not cost-efficient for the automaker and its shareholders. This problem could be life-threatening if the driver and passengers were stranded during the winter months in northern u. S. Or canada, when loss of all coolant occurred. Operating vehicle with no coolant could result in the engine seizing up while traveling at highway speeds, causing injury to driver and passengers and possibly other motorists. A dangerous situation that Chrysler has corrected on its later model vehicles since 2010 or 2011.

8 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 09/29/2014

I was driving eastbound on the 10 fwy , about 40mph and in the first lane because I had just got on freeway about 1 1/2 ago and while I was driving I felt the peddle lose power so I tried to accelerate by pushing a little harder and I felt the car gaing no speed only slowing down then I look at gauges and all gauges were non functional as if the car was off, it was then that I noticed I had no control in steering either the car was just completely died. As I coasted to a stop just a little between the first lane and emergency lane I was able to put the car into park, quickly, and turn the key back to the on position as then I also noticed the key was not in on position. Very scary and that's the whole reason I started to look into this matter and found out about this recall. I will provide VIN number upon request if needed.
