The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the rear brake pads, rotors, and calipers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact mentioned that the front brakes were previously replaced approximately ten months prior to the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that all four brakes and rotors were worn and needed to be replaced. The contact was concerned since the brakes began wearing with such low miles on the vehicle. The dealer informed the contact that the brake warranty was one year or 12,000 miles and that the manufacturer agreed to pay half of the repair costs. The dealer did not inform the contact why. The contact is aware of related failures for his year make and model vehicle. The current the failure mileages were 25,000.

The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the front rotors were warped and damaged the brake pads. The brakes and rotors need to be replaced. The failure has occurred twice within seven months. The first time the vehicle was taken to the dealer, they refused to acknowledge the defect until the brake pads were grinding and failed inspection. The brake pads and rotors were replaced at that time; however, the failure has recurred. The vehicle is currently being repaired. The contact believes that the failures were due to manufacturer defects and a recall should be issued. The failure mileage was 11,667 and current mileage was 16,700. Updated 09/15/09. First noticed popping/rubbing noise in front end. Took in and they replaced the front stabilizer bushings and etc. . That was in oct 2005. I have taken back to wilson Dodge in jackson, ms 3/4 times since. The problem still exist. The service man said he hear noise when turning 1/4 to right. But when I went to pick up vehicle they had not done anything to it. I have a friend that's a mechanic. He said the rack and pinion system is going out and is bad. I have stated this to wilson Dodge. They wanted me to sign the last paper work but I would not sign because they had not fixed problem. I am taking to other Dodge dealer ship this week to see if they can find problem. Also I had to replace the brakes already at 26,000 miles. And they said I needed new rotors. This is ridiculous. I had a 1998 Dodge caravan and only had to replace brakes once on it and it had 98,000 miles on it.

My Dodge Grand Caravan 2005 was bought used at boniface-hiers at merritt island florida in March 2005. I've had brake problems since. The dealers repair shop foreman had someone look at it in April 2005: said he did me a favor; there is no warranty. Brakes shake and abs doesn't work. Brakes also lock. Dangerous. I traveled to maine for the summer. Many close calls. On 11-20-05, after being told verbally that brakes are not warranty item, I sent a complaint card. Today, I'm going to boniface-hiers[Monday] and a daimler-Chrysler rep is supposed to look into the defects.

The brake had wore out every 20,000 miles, even when fix wear out again and again. The dealer replaced pad/shoes and the consumer detected noise coming from the braking system. The consumer discovered there was a major problem with the rotors.

Consumer stated that brakes vibrated and made a lot of noise. She some times when applying brakes the noise got louder and louder. Took vehicle to the dealer, and was told that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. This was going on this for 4 months.

The brakes have been sqeaking and when I let off of them they feel like they are grabbing. There is also lots of brakes dust on my front rims. This has been since I bought the car 3/15/04. The service department at the dealers said the brake noise is normal. They checked the brakes on 3/17 and said they were fine. I took the vehicle back 8/17 because of the front end pulling and asked that they check my brakes again. The rotors were warped so they "turned the front rotors". I asked what could cause this and they said driving with 2 feet or it could also happen if the rotors are hot and it starts to rain and cold water hits them. They blame the driver. It only had 7539 miles on it. I took it back 8/23 because I do not hear or feel a change in the brakes. Theytest drove it and said it was normal noises that I was hearing and nothing is wrong.

I have a 1999 Grand Caravan, I have not received any recall notices at all. I have had numerous problems with this vehicle. Why haven't I been notified of any of these concerns. I have problems with windshield wipers just quitting. Dome lights fading in an out. Now that my warrenty is up, they say I'll need a new transmission. The back gate won't unlock with a key, the windows leak, the sliding doors don't seal, they rattle going down the road. My rpm dial shoots up and down, not only that, my paint has started peeling over the back left wheel. They say it's not their problem. Just started bubbling and rusting. I've had to have a gas line underneath fixed due to knocking it wasn't fixed properly. I have a lemon is what I have and now that I have no warrenty they just keep putting their hands out. I have put three sets of brakes in less than 4 years and now they say I need rotors. I live 3 miles from work. What's up with that. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!now my blower is going out of my heater, I've had to replace two hub caps, $150 each for the fragile plastic.

Brake on front driver side ate into rotor where the rotor had to be replaced. It could not be resurfaced according to dealership. Vehicle had 23000 miles. About 3/4 of that was interstate miles.

Front disc brake rotors warped at under 25,000 miles. No trailer towing or exceptional use was involved.

The brake rotors warped due to them over heating. Dealer notified.

Continuous brake problems/failures due to pitting & corroding of the front disc rotors. Rear brake drums not adjusting properly (have never adjusted). Rotors replaced by dealer and now require replacement again. Entire rear wheel braking system replaced, still not working correctly. Vehicle has never stopped correctly in four years of ownership. Is very dangerous and could cause an accident.

Consumer heard a grinding coming from the front of vehicle. Took to a mechanic and they stated the left rotor needed replacing. Consumer feels this was unsafe because the brake could have failed. Nlm.

There was a grinding noise coming from the front of vehicle. Took vehicle to a mechanic, and mechanic stated that front left rotors needed replacing. There was no warning. Please provide any further information.

Consumer states that the vehicle vibrates and pulls to the right when the brakes are applied. The front rotors need to be turned or replaced.

On the cruise control, it accelerated on it's own. Had a very hard time getting pulled over safely in heavy high speed traffic. Burned up brakes/rotor. Wrote Chrysler. Nothing. Airbag clock recently failed and saw article in paper about your investigation. Thank you.

When applying brakes vehicle vibrates, dealer replaced front rotors due to rust and holes from street salt. At this time, front rotors needed to be replaced again, same problem.

Rotors are prematurely wore out,pitted beyond repair.

At 45,000 miles brakes failed due to rivets digging into rotors. Brakes wear out quickly, but dealer says that they are normal.

Since April 2000 I have experience probs with front and rear brakes. It began clicking in the rear, I was told by dlr that rotors needed to be replaced. I paid for the replacements. 2 weeks later clicking began again, louder that time. Dlr kept veh sd they couldn't locate prob. So they cleaned brakes and turned rotors. Clicking then began in front of vehicle, only when stopping, and excessive grinding sound began and the veh would wobble when attempting to stop. Dlr adv that it was due to heat???? so the rotors were maintenanced again. Clicking started again about a month later and continues when stopping as well as a sound of fluid "swishing" and grinding at halt. I am very concerned that the dealership is unable to locate the problem. They keep returning an unsafe vehicle, I am returning to service tomorrow and hopefully will be successful in obtaining full repairs. Chrysler was contacted and basically has been no help. What is the next step if problem continues?.

Not only did the front brakes fail at 27,000 and the manufacturer failed to warranty them, the driver side rotors also failed without warning. No brake light came on.

When driving at 45 and up and braking the steering starts shuttering. Dealer contacted, and stated the rotors are warped and causing the shuttering. Repairwork done at owner's expense.

While driving experienced hydraulic brakes malfunctioning, noticed grinding noise, metal to metal rubbing; while applying brakes also, constant rear brake noise when slowing down until halt. Manufacturer issued TSB, dealer resurfaced and finally replaced front rotors, problem still persists.

Vehicle shimmied when the brakes were applied. Dealer resurfaced the front and rear rotors. Four months later, the problem recurred. Every 14,000 miles the dealer was replacing the rotors.
