I have a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan I was parked in my driveway and my headrest deployed and hit me in the back of the head,I called my Dodge dealer and was informed its not cover under warranty. The vehicle never been in a accident, I dont understand how these headrests are still being allowed to be installed. Looking at it you can tell the plastic that holds the pin failed.
Front passenger active headrest system deployed with no explanation. The vehicle was being driven normally in a parking lot and the headrest just went off.
I was sitting in my parked car, engine off, waiting for someone. The driver's side headrest popped open suddenly. I cannot put it back in position because the plastic tabs inside are broken. I am thankful I was leaning forward reading a book and that I was not driving as this could have been painful and/or dangerous.
Active headrest deployed without a crash. Plastic retaining slots broken. Car was not moving. This is the second one to break like this and I'm not happy about having to pay another $900 for what is obviously a design flaw.

Headrest on passenger side front seat burst when brushed against when someone was getting into the parked van.
The driver's side headrest has deployed on it's own while parked in a driveway and turned off. After inspection, the plastic brackets that retain the metal pin that is supposed to secure the headrest broke apart and released the headrest into a deployed position. This is a design flaw that should be recalled before someone becomes injured. The headrest is under a spring loaded force that the plastic was not engineered to restrain.
While parked headrest on passanger side front seat deployed no impact to van. Only seat that deployed .
While getting my father-in-law situated in the van when leaving physical therapy is when we noticed what has happened with this headrest.
While driving my front driver seat headrest deployed for no apparent reason.
On 10/26/2020 I got in my car this morning and noticed my head restraint on my driver side just deployed overnight. Which at the time I didn't know it was deployed I thought I could fix it when I got to where I was going but after further research that is when I found out it deployed and it wasn't a simple fix. Since it is a 2014 Dodge grand cararavan 30th anniversary edition it is not under warranty. After looking up online I see this is a common occurrence and wonder why there is no safety recall. It goes back years. They put a plastic piece holding a metal piece under all that pressure and they think it will not give way and break? I can't imagine if I would have been driving what would have happened. That would have scared me for one and what could have happened. Imagine driving along and this thing pops out at the back of your head. Did it make a loud noise? what would you be thinking? what would you have done? from what I have seen online it will cost 900. 00 to replace this which wasn't supposed to deploy unless someone hit the rear of my car. Please do something about this as I can't afford 900. 00 to fix this. And they need to do something about the plastic they use.
Came out to my car and the driver side headrest was deployed. My car has been in no vehicle accidents. My minivan was stationary in my driveway.

Front seat active head restraint deployed on its own. Vehicle was parked with nobody inside when it happened. I did receive a letter in mail that it is an issue and letter had been submitted with this.
The headrest deployed and will not go back in. This is a feature to prevent whiplash in a crash, but the vehicle was parked when the headrest deployed. This is dangerous and now I am concerned about my safety driving if it happens to the other one unexpectedly.

While my husband was driving the passenger side headrest deployed for no reason! I happened to be sitting in the seat at the time and thankfully it didn't hurt me but it scared the crud out of me!! we were actually only going about 5mph as we were coming out of the parking lot of a chic-fil-a.
Driver's side active-restraint headrest deployed (popped open) while car was at rest with engine off. Internal inspection showed broken plastic inside headrest. Car was stationary; engine was off when active-restraint headrest deployed. Dealer said cost to replace was approximately $900. Recall for same issue on other makes/models by Chrysler/Dodge. Apparently not for 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan (yet).
