Two weeks ago my 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan developed a strong smell of gasoline inside and out of the vehicle. It has gotten progressively stronger. It usually happens when the brakes are applied and /or stopping suddenly, and stopping /parking in the garage.

Everytime I fuel my dgc, after I start up, the engine will sputter and stall out, even out in traffic. I have put it in park, restart (it restarts rough), and then rev the engine a few times to work out sputters and roughness.

I recently experienced an uncontrolled acceleration of my 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan. I passed a truck that was traveling at about 35 mph. When I attempted to resume an appropriate speed by releasing the accelerator I realized that the vehicle was continuing to accelerate. I applied the brake to little effect and eventually regained control of the vehicle by shutting the ignition off. When I brought the vehicle to a Dodge dealer I was told that this was common and all it required was routine maintance. Dodge did not see this as a safety issue and charged me for the service despite the fact that the vehicle was still under warranty.

Bought brand new Dodge caravan Mar 23 2010 and June it killed while driving 40-45 mph and took 45 minutes to start again. Brought it to benson in greer SC where we bought the car and because the computer did not show anything they did nothing. Killed again and brought to dealership. Said they would hook it to computer but could only fix it if it showed something. Luckily it killed on them and they had to push it into shop. The car killed again for the third time of us, and barely missed having an accident. They told us that it was one of two parts and they had only replaced one previously. When asked why they told us they would have to pay for parts if turned them into gmac and they were good. They obviously had no concern for our safety or others on the road when the vehicle just suddenly stops when driving accelerated speed. It was considered a lemon by there arbitration board however, they just tell us to drive it till it kills again or kills us or someone else. Benson dealership, greer SC.

Dodge Grand Caravan just went up in flames while driving within maybe 5 minutes fire fighters control the situation but the motor ,battery, everything in front inside hood just melted I really need help I had just finished paying it when this happened. I attribute this to the faulty electrical recalls it has as well as the fuel. Help. At least I want a replacement.

Nothing unusual leading up to this. Had a check engine light. When we brought it to the dealer, there was a small leak on the fuel filler neck. The car was only 5 years old and is washed, garaged every night, and taken care of. Fuel necks should not be failing in such short time.

Consumer took the vehicle to the dealer because she continually had front end problems. Dealer stated that there was too much air in the tires. Consumer smelled fuel odor. There were two recalls regarding fuel. Consumer took the vehicle to dealer three times before they could tell her what was wrong. They found that brakes, and rotors were completely worn out.

When refueling, I slightly bumped the gas door and it broke in two. Not a real big deal, but it is made of plastic and it broke very easily. Not a great design. Have there been more complaints of this problem? thank you.

I only have 25,000 miles on my 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. (1) the sway bar links were repaired twice, and parts are on back order for a third repair. (2) I had to replace the front brakes after only 14,000 miles, and they are half gone already at 25,000 miles, plus the rear brakes have to be replaced. (3) the engine has a flat spot during acceleration, and I get about 11 miles per gallon in the city, and about 15-16 miles per gallon on the highway. It stated it got 18 miles per gallon in the city, and 24 miles per gallon on the highway. (4) the transmission makes a moaning sound; the power steering was leaking fluid, (5) I had to replace the battery the first summer I had it, the anti lock brakes went out early this summer (6) the driver?s side window would not roll up when we were at bear country USA surrounded by bears (7) the shift gear lever sometimes slips from drive to neutral, and I have had that looked at twice (8) the cruise control went out last summer.

On July 4, 2002 my 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan was involved in a low speed rollover in which the vehicle came to rest upside down. In the minutes following the rollover the vehicle caught on fire and burned completely up. My wife and 3 children were traveling in the vehicle when this happened and all 3 by the grace of god were pulled to safety by persons near the accident. Two months later I received a recall on the van from the dealer indicating there was a recall on the fuel system to replace a part that may cause a fire in the event of a rollover.

I have a Dodge Grand Caravan 2003. It did ok for about six months after that it has been one problem after another. When I'm waiting to go on a road if I take my foot off brake it starts rolling backward fast. You have to hold the brake while pushing the gas to keep it from rolling back. It's steering has given me trouble, the gas gauge has caused problems, etc. . . . I have contacted Dodge several times, but have gotten no help from them.

Fuel leak was causing loss of power. Vehicle has been towed to dealership.

There is a very strong fuel smell coming into cab of vehicle. Consumer is afraid that a fire may start. Please provide any further information.
