Tire Sidewall Problems of Dodge Grand Caravan

Purchased yokohama avid ascend tire in April 2013 based on 80000 mile tread warranty. I noticed what looked like dry rot cracking and tires vibrated at highway speed. Brought to tire dealer. They rebalanced tires and said to come back if condition got worse. Drove about 400 miles to beach and back. On way back home vibration came back. Noticed an actual split about 1/8 inch where tread meets the sidewall. Tire dealer replaced two tires on a prorated basis according to yokohama. Front tires also exhibited far more pronounced wear than rears despite proper inflation. Not happy that I had to pay anything due to manufacturing defect but I was not going to risk an actual blowout.

Me and a CO worker purchased goodyear regatta 2 tires approximately 2 years ago. Both of our vehicles have developed unsafe tire out of round conditions that make it very difficult to drive our vehicles safely. Both tire sets have under 20,000 miles on them. Goodyear has been unresponsive to complaints and I feel these tires are dangerous. There have been reports of blowouts due to sidewall failure at highway speeds with these tires. I believe they should be recalled immediately.

I purchased 2 brand new furtura 2000 lte from pepboys drove the car maybe 5 miles. Then sat in my driveway for the rest of the day. The next morning I had 2 front flat- both tires were leaking from the sidewall meets the treat.

Dt: contact states there was a failure on the sidewall of the tire that caused complete loss of tire pressure. The tire was a goodyear integrity. He had the tire replaced with the exact brand of tire. During the same month, another tire experienced the same problem. The replacement again, was the same brand of tire. The tire dealer said the failures were not due to a defect in the tires. After approximately 7 months one of the new tires started experiencing the same problem.

2004 Dodge Grand Caravan. . . 14500 miles on vehicle all tires rotated accordingly. The sidewall on all four good year tires have given way. The mechanic said all the tires must be replaced, as it would be very dangerous to dive this vehicle.

I own 8 mx4 michelin tires I rotate and use 4 in the winter and four in the summer. While driving at 70 mph I experienced a catastrophic blow-out on my front passenger side tire im a professional driver and have logged over 1. 5 million miles in commercial and personal vehicles and I utilize the smith system . The road was clear with little traffic and no road hazards present. Two weeks later on the highway at 55 mph. Another massive blow-out left rear both times large holes in the sidewalls one tier manufactured in 2000 the other in 1999 miles on both tires 17k tiers inspected and confirmed blowout originated from the inside . Similar occurrences have been reported. My remaining six tires have been inspected for side wall damage or unusual wear and none found vehicle has been serviced and no defects found.

While driving steering wheel vibrated. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and pulled over. Consumer noticed that driver's side rear goodyear, wrangle tire tread separated from the wheel. All four tires had cracks around the sidewalls.

2003 Dodge Grand Caravan ES with michelin mx4 p215/60r17 96s tires (dot b9kx dvmx 1102). Two tire have had damaged sidewalls. One tire on the passenger rear resulted in a slow leak. The other, on the passenger front, has a bulge after contact with the curb. The sencond tire was fine for only minutes earlier during an oil change and recall work at the dealership. No abnormal contact with a road hazard occurred during the two mile drive from the dealer to home.

Three tire failures within 12 months due to "road hazards". The tires are michelin 215/60r17. One was a slow leak the discount tire rep said was due to road damage, the second was a hole in the side wall after hitting a curb while parking, and the third was a sidewall bubble discovered when the second tire was replaced during a courtesy tire rotation.

We keep the tires at the vehicle manufacturer's recommended 35 psi. The ambient temperature was between 75 and 80 deg. We were traveling about 30 mph and the vehicle was not heavily loaded. We did not hit any object in the road nor any pothole. There was no warning such as vibration in the rear or bouncing of the wheel. The sidewall of the tire ruptured suddenly with a rip in the sidewall almost from where it meets the rim, straight across the sidewall radially and slightly into the tread. If this had happened at highway speeds instead of in a 30 mph zone, this incident could have caused a serious accident because of the suddenness of the tire failure.

After market tire winston g/t, p215/65r15 size. Tread on three of four tires have started to separate from sidewall. Consumer states newly installed tires were cracking on the sidewalls, all 4 tires were replaced as a safety hazard.
