Tires wore out within 40,000 miles and they were supposed to be an 80,000 mile tire. I kept the tires rotated every 5,000 miles, wal-mart would not honor the 80,000 tread wearout warranty.

On Dec 30, 2004 I purchased 4 new cooper tires labeled sigma regent (sg00721655). On June 13, 2006 I replaced one of these tires due to tread separation (23,924 miles). On oct 12, 2006 I replaced two more of the original four tires due to tread separation (28,405 miles). That is three out of four tires that developed tread separation. Fortunately, I noticed each event before an accident occurred. Nonetheless, I think you need to know about the excessive tread separation problems we've had with cooper tires. P. S. Your form did allow for the actual tire size I purchased. The tires I purchased are: 215/65sr15, 9m65.

I was travelling on the freeway at about 70 mph when the tread blew off the left rear tire. It happened with the right rear tire about a month and a half ago the same way. The tread was not worn, the tube was intact, but the tread was completely separated from the tire. The first time it broke my brake light and dented my rear fender and bumper. This time the damage was much worse. It caused the fuel tank connection to become loose, tore the fender on either side of the tire and ripped the bumper off of the car.
The consumer discovered tread separation on 3 of the tires, which were only 1 year and 4 months old.
Left rear tire had major tread separation at 70-75 mph. Tire remained inflated. Tread depth is 5/32. Nlm.
Tread is separating in chunks and exposing steel belts. (dot number: t2749938 tiresize: p215/65r15).
Noticed tread had started to separate from right and left front tires on my 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan, steel belts showing at edges. Tire shows excessive wear at edges (however air pressure checked ok recently). Rear tires show little wear. Recent front alignment check (8/21/2001) within specs. Local authorized goodyear dealer refused to honor waranty for replacement tires. Left tire dot m6vfhkdr449, right tire dot m6vfhkdr449. (dot number: m6vfhkdr44 tiresize: p215/65r15).
These tires were replaced as part of a recall in approximately 1998. The thread on this tire has virtually no wear. There is probably about 12-15,000 miles on these tires. My son and I were drivng down the highway when the tire completely blew out, nearly causing an accident. I hate to think what would have happened had a car been closer to us than they were, and we were not able to get to the side of the highway safely and quickly. Upon inspection of the tire, I saw that the thread had completely come off the sides of the tire. The tire was in three distinctly different parts. The tow truck driver who came to change the tire was flabergasted at the condition of the tire. He said that the only other tires he has seen that looked like this were the firestore tires on the suvs. When I went to the tire dealer to replace the tire, he had the same type of comments. It was obvious to the two repair men that these tires were defectvie. Both said we were lucky to be alive given the condition of the tire. My question is now, what should I do with the other one that is on there, and can I get retribution for the cost of these tires. Also, how can I find out if this has happened to others in the past? should I contact the dealership or the manufacturer. If you could supply me with this information, I would appreciate it. Thank you. (tiresize: p215/65r15).
Goodyear, conquest tires, original equipment, tire size p215-65-r15, dot # is m6vfhkdr128. There was tread seperation on 3 of 4 tires, tires have less than 50 thousand miles on them, only rear right tire did not separate, contacted goodyear dealer, and consumer had to pay for all 3 new tires.
Tire tread separation. (tiresize: p215/65r15)( dot number: tire size: p215/65r15 ).
Regular inspection, maintenance (rotation) has been done as recommended by manufacturer. On the highway, left rear tire blew out (in seven spots) nearly lost control of the vehicle. The tire blew in seven spots from the inside-out. The treads in each hole blew outward. I surely would have been injured or killed if this happened to one of the front tires. I do not carry heavy loads and I check my tire pressure every other time I fill up my gas tank. This is a very popular vehicle for women with children. The outcome could have been devastating. My tire warranty expired in mid-July and I am worried that one of the other tires will do the same thing. ( dot number: ).
