Car fails to start randomly and consistently. I've seen nothing but issues all over the internet about this and nothing has ever been answered. People spend hundreds of dollars to not even be told what is wrong with the vehicle.
Journey would not start despite healthy battery & other components while stationary. Had happened multiple times after being driven for about 30 miles or after sitting overnight. Have been told they don't know what is causing the issue. Hundreds of other Dodge owners complain in online forums about the same issue. Problem didn't start until we had the recall repairs done for the ignition and airbags.
Car will not start, only clicks. Sounds come from the stereo. This has been an intermittent problem for about 5 years (I bought the car new in December 2009). I have replaced the battery twice. This problem has gotten worse, as it happened yesterday and again today. It jumps easily.
Car will not start at times, have to let sit for about an hour before it will start. Have been having issue for months. Changed battery but that has not helped. I have power to the car but the engine will not turn over. Sensor in steering wheel for airbag is also loose, light comes on and off.
After buying the car from the dealer we drove home and stopped to get gas. The car would not start. Finally after locking and unlocking the doors it started. Since then every day I drive it I continually have issues with it starting. Once while driving down the road it shut off and stopped. Almost caused an accident. Now I can not even get it started. I have a baby and rhought this would be a perfect vechile. I can nit trust it for the safety of my child and myself. I can not be stranded in the arkansas heat with a vechile that repeatedly has issues with starting or keep running while driving. I have had it checked and no one xan find an issue with the car. Very concerned with safety of car. Very disappointed.
My 2009 Dodge Journey will not shut off when you take the key out. The windows will not go up and down. I brought into a Dodge dealership and had the recall on the ignition switch and the wiring harness in the driver door replaced. My car still will not shut off and windows still don't work but now won't go into gear after dealer repaired. I took it to a second dealer and now after 3 week they are saying I need a tipm for $1700. But they don't know if that will fix the problem? plus now the car will not start. My car is in worse shape then when I brought it into the dealership to repair? I called the corporate office and they are not willing to do anything.
My Dodge Journey will not always start it will just click then after several attempts it will start. My drivers side door the power window does not work it just stopped working. Now my gear shift does not want to shift into gear, start the car up the cas traction light is on and the gear will be stuck. So I have to turn the car off several times then I am able to move the gear shift. It is very frustrating to get in your car and you cannot either start it or it just do not move .

I own the vehicle in question and have on several ocasions contacted the dealership neilson Dodge in east hanover, NJ where I purchased the vehicle from to fix the systems involvled in this recall, but to no avail. They have told me they do not have the parts to complete the repairs. My car has failed to start several different times and has shut off while I was driving once. There have also been a few times when the vehicle has started, but no electrical systems have worked execpt for the engine. I drive 60 miles to work per day on roads with speeds of 45-50 mph which creates a dangerous situation if the electrical system were to shut down. I am at a loss as to how to proceed and how that NHTSA can be of assistance to me.
