I was on interstate 55 going north when my tire blew out causing damage to my car. There was no warning or any other variablel that caused it it just blew out while I ws going about 70 miles an hour. I purchased this tire a couple of months ago brand new so I was told at the place where I purchased it. I could have hurt or killed but thank god I did not panic. I was on my way to work thank god my wife was not in it when it blew out.
I was traveling to work on the city street in my 2013 Dodge Journey sxt, a person ran the red light and struck me near the gas tank and then struck me a second time in the front drivers side of the vehicle. Six of the air bags deployed, the vehicle was totaled in the crash. I am writing this because I know that I am here today due to the build of the 2013 Dodge Journey sxt. I was so surprised that I went out and purchased another Dodge Journey.
Vehicle was traveling on a side street and was struck by another vehicle on the left side just in front of the rear wheel causing it to spin and roll. As you can tell by the pictures attached the side curtain airbags did not deploy either at the time of initial impact from the other car hitting the side of our vehicle, nor did it deploy when the vehicle rolled on it's side and roof. Our concern is why?.

While under warranty the rear passenger automatic door lock stopped working and it was replaced. After the warranty expired the passenger automatic front door lock stopped working and I paid to have a new one installed. Now the drivers side rear automatic door lock has stopped working. When they stop working they will not lock or unlock using the key fob or the buttons inside the car. Each time this occurs the actuator has to be replaced. Since keeping the doors securely closed during a crash is a major safety issue this needs to be recalled.

On October 2, 2015 we purchased a new 2015 Dodge Journey that was under a recall that we were not informed about from carl gregory Dodge Chrysler Jeep in albany, georgia. The engine beauty cover may detach from the engine and come in contact with the catalytic converter. Safety risk: if the engine beauty cover remains in contact with the catalytic converter, underhood smoke and/or a fire may occur without warning. Remedy: the engine beauty cover must be modified and a mounting system must be installed. Recall status: recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available. When I called the dealer at 2:15 pm on October 12, 2015 to see why we were sold a vehicle under recall, the service manager told me "I don't know what you want me to say, it's nothing to lose sleep over. " in a condescending tone. He did not know how long it'd be before the dealer would send out notices or how long before the repair could be made.
I was using the scissor jack provided with the vehicle to remove a flat left front tire while parked in my garage. The floor was flat and completely dry and free of any oily conditions. The shift lever was in park, the brake set. I positioned the jack as outlined in the owners manual. I then broke the 5 lug nuts loose prior to raising the vehicle. It was very difficult using the jack as it seemed to be straining to raise the SUV. I finally got it raised to a level to clear the tire from the floor surface. I removed the tire and just as I did this the jack collapsed and the vehicle dropped. The fender well just barely missed crushing my hand. I took photos of the condition after it fell. I removed the jack and the frame was twisted and the lifting screw was bent. The jack does not have any load rating or certification markings. All it says is 'made in mexico' the foot print pad it sets on looks too small to provide adequate support. I brought the incident up to Chrysler representatives and they just made what seemed to be arbitrary remarks the ' I must have done some thing wrong' in the process. My vehicle is still under the original factory warranty but they said I will have to pay a $500. 00 deductible. If this jack failed on a flat concrete floor imagine trying to use this device and a angular, graveled road shoulder. This could lead to someone being seriously injured in the future.

I own a 2014 Dodge Journey. . . Only had it 6 months! I hit a deer (about 200 lbs/ husband said it would be a 10-12 point if it had antlers this time of year). I was running about 53-57 mph, out the corner of my eye I saw the deer about to run out, grabbed the wheel with both hands and just held on. There was no time to do anything else, the roads were wet so I didn't hit the brakes hard (didn't want them to lock-up) but I did stay on them. Thankfully the deer was coming to the ground (already jumped) when I hit him, because if not he probably would have ended up in our windshield. I hit the deer square. . . His body caved the radiator in among other things! the airbags never came out! I understand sensors in cars and all that but regardless if you hit "someone or something" as hard as I hit that deer. . . The airbags should have certainly deployed. I am thankful and grateful that it was a deer and not a tree! wish I knew how to get these complaints straight to the Dodge dealership! makes me very uneasy about my car now. Obviously, the car is not fixed yet, still sitting in my yard waiting for the adjuster to come out. Not too sure we are going to keep it once it gets fixed. I have children (twin 5 years old daughters) do not want them in an unsafe car!.

I am not able to open any doors except the driver door. The trunk will not open and Dodge did not build a manual key entry for this model. Also I have a starting problem the car stalls and won't start unless I put it in neutral or jiggle the gear up into drive and back into park. The car turns very slowly when making left hand turns and the engine revs up sometimes when it's trying to pick speed back up after a turn. The dealer told us it was the battery and we had them install a new one but the issue is still there. I've read several complaints about the same issue. Customers getting their batter, starters all the recalls updated because they were told those were the issues but was not as their issue still existed as do mine. I don't want to spend a fortune at the dealer until they find what the problem is. The manufacturer should know what the problem is from all the complaints being the same. I emailed them for suggestions of what they think it may be and they just said take it to the dealership.

I was driving at the speed limit on interstate 5, (California) when a vehicle in front of me swerved partially into my lane. In order to avoid hitting said vehicle, I swerved to the right slightly, at that time I believe engine died, as I had no control over said vehicle I could not steer or maneuver my vehicle at all. Thus it was continuing on the path of the swerve and hit the wall on the passenger side of the highway. I at no time had any control over the vehicle, the car started spinning from the impact of the wall and sent me across 3 lanes of traffic and I was hit by 2 cars. The only airbag that deployed was the front passenger side airbag. (there was no passenger in that position. ) I was in the driver seat, and my son (was 9 years of age at the time of the incident) was sitting directly behind me. When the car stopped, I was unable to remove the key from the ignition, it was locked in place. Originally, I believed that there were no major injuries, only bumps, bruises and the like. However in the months since the incident, it has come to light that I have torn muscles in 1, maybe both elbows. I am currently under a doctors care, and will be requiring surgery to reconstruct the muscles and tendons.
The first day drove this brand new Dodge Journey to work. And came back with the hood released. The only thing it could happen was I accidently touch the hood release handle when I apply/release the parking brake, because they are too closed. It is a rearly bad design.
I was sitting at the approach to our driveway with my foot on the break, waiting to ensure my grandchildren had safely cleared the driveway area. Without warning, there was a sound like the car engine revving up, the car starting moving/lunging forward on its own and all attempts to apply the brakes to stop the car failed. I quickly steered toward a tree in my front yard where I chose to crash my car in order to stop its continued acceleration. The cause of the acceleration is unknown. If I had not chosen to hit the tree, the car was headed for my front porch/house where my grandchildren had gone to clear the driveway area. A contractor working on my neighbor¿s property came to assist me and turned off the car engine. There was a strong burning odor/chemical smell permeating my car after the crash. In spite of the impact, my air bag did not deploy. We called 911, the insurance company and he car was towed to a collision shop. Registered a formal complaint to Chrysler corporation the night of the crash.
Roof in back end is leaking into ceiling then dripping down into the floor board. Completely soaked. Have not even had my Dodge Journey 2013 for a yr yet.
I was struck on the left front by a 1997 Dodge stratus occupied by 5 teenage boys. The damage was bumper and left fender (insurance estimate about $3,000. But the battery was placed on top of the engine by the manufacturer. The battery was the original battery installed on car. No engine repair had been done on the vehicle. The battery exploded and the engine was covered by battery acid which destroyed all the wiring in the engine. Battery acid also went down the driver's side of the car destroying paint and eating into metal. Two adjusters examined the car as the insurance was amazed at amount of destruction. They each stopped at $11,000 damage and totaled the car. I was told that had any glass been broken and I got battery acid on my body, the damage would have been severe. A mechanic at the scene said the battery placement was very dangerous as was said by insurance adjusters and repair service where the car was towed. I called the dealership and Dodge itself and reported the problem. They both said they never had heard of any problem. I walked away unhurt but could have driven the car for the rest of my life (I'm 73) had the battery been placed in a different spot in the engine. I believe this battery placement to be very dangerous and am concerned for others who might have an accident in a car like mine.
While in the drive through car turned off and I couldn't stop and scraped the driverside fender on a yellow barrier pole. I thought it was a fluke (a wtf moment) so I never worried about it again. It still cuts off every now and again but I am usually parked or moving slowly. I did get pulled over one time when the car cut off and to stop I had to put it in park so I wouldn't run a stopsighn onto hwy 99. (he let me go) went for the recall on the ignition sat for over an hour only to be told they dont have the replacement part or know when they will have it. On many occasions I am unable to get the car to start. When this happens I have to place the car in neutral and try again. The car will start once placed in neutral. Whenever there is a thunderstorm the driverside rear door will fill up with water from the outside. If I slam the door hard the water will flow out of the bottom. Front brakes grind and squeek no matter if the pads are new or have been on for a while. (I tried new rotors to) wiring recall was fixed only to do the samething as before months later.
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph, she noticed a loud squeaking noise while applying the brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The technician stated that the vehicle was operating as designed. The front and rear rotors, and the brake pads were replaced but the failure continued. Additionally, the contact stated that water was leaking from the overhead vent and onto the rear seats. The front driver's side door also could not be locked with the key fob, only manually. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 22,240.
The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. While driving approximately 25 mph and approaching a stop sign, the contact depressed the brake pedal to the floorboard and the vehicle hesitated to stop. The contact drove the vehicle slowly to the dealer for diagnostics where the technician advised that the front and rear brakes were worn and would have to be replaced, as well as the rotors. The contact also noticed that the rear passenger side door was holding water in the interior and would leak from the bottom of the door when the door was opened. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.
Every time it rains, both rear passenger doors fill with water. When opening and closing the doors, the water inside can be heard. The water slowly leaks from the doors, but it takes 2-3 days for it all to leak out.
