Car Accelerates On Its Own Problems of Dodge Journey

Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while in reverse the vehicle would not immediately stop and while switching the transmission to the drive position a load noise was present coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer cape coral Chrysler(2200 ne pine island, cape coral FL. ) who replaced the motor mount but the failures continued to occur. No further information was available. In addition while driving and slowing down approaching a stop light the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration and crashed into the rear of a second vehicle. During the crash the driver sustained neck and back injuries. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure(case 64687641). The failure mileage was 44,000. Jft.

2010 Dodge Journey - on July 8, 2019 my wife stopped at a local station for gas but when she pulled out of the station she lost all dashboard lights. The radio was playing but the controls were not working to turn the radio down or off. She decided that since the vehicle seemed to be running okay she would continue to her next stop. When she arrived at her next stop she pulled into a parking spot. All dash lights etc were still off. While depressing the brake and attempting to place the car in park the rpm's increased dramatically and she lunged forward and crashed into the building. The air bag did not deploy and the headlights were not damaged. However give the damaged cased by the fallen debris and some under carriage damage the car was determined a total loss. Since there were no recalls for the sudden acceleration problem there seem to be no interest on the part of the Chrysler dealer or my insurance agent to investigate the crash any further.

While driving on the highway in my brand new Dodge Journey that was purchased less than 2 weeks ago, all the vehicles came to a stop and were stationary. My car included was stationary or stopped. While waiting for traffic to go, my foot was on the brake when my car suddenly accelerated (was in motion) and started to move forward. My foot was still on the brake when this occurred. I continued to push down the brake as hard as I could and pump the brake to make the car stop but it felt like the brake pedal would not go down. My brakes did not work and the vehicle in front on me ended up stopping my car. I pulled over to the left shoulder of the highway as much as I could and put my car in park and called highway patrol.
