4 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/24/2022

The vehicle stalled during normal use traveling about 35 miles an hour right after an intersection. My husband was able to safely make it off the road as we live in a small town he did this by feathering the accelerator pedal. He is a mechanic so he was able to get it home by lightly tapping the pedal. If he pressed the pedal too hard the car stalled without warning so he lightly tapped on it and made it 2 blocks to our home where it has set in the driveway ever since. We spent over $1000 replacing parts such as the throttle body and the fuel pump and sending unit, egr, pcv, crankshaft sensor, plugs, injectors, intake seals, air intake temperature sensor and throttle body which include the throttle position sensor. Before we went for the cam sensor I decided to look up the issue and found so many with the same problem as us. We are veterans on a semi fixed income with a 10 month old daughter and this is our only vehicle we live in a super hot place in northern arizona and can not afford further repairs as every part seems to be quite expensive. I don't have the fear of it dying while transporting my daughter again as it won't even stay started since the first incident. Additionally there are no codes or dash indicator lights staying on. We will be contacting Dodge in kingman arizona today.

10 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2018

Wasn't able to get the shifter out of park, managed to get someone to help me put in neutral to get the car home, now I have been driving it for a month or so by not putting in park, just keeping it in neutral with emergency brake on. Would love to get this resolved with out having to spend money that I don't have. It seems that it is a known problem for years now and yet no one has issued Dodge any notice to submit a recall for this. Most people don't have time and money to be dealing with these types of problems, so they end up in the same situation as I am having to spend more time securing the car so it doesn't injure anyone and at the same time keep me employed. Please help me I am low income and a mother of 3, I can't afford to get something repaired when Dodge is aware that there is a on going problem with this, if there is so many people complaining about the same issue it makes it obvious that it's not a accidental or a a things happen type of problem it means it is a manufacture problem. Just saying that they need to stand behind there product and stop ignoring the facts. They need to do the right thing and issue a recall as any honorable business would.

While driving down the highway or sitting in park, the bas light on the dash will come on, when it does this the engine goes to 800 rpm idle and the transmission goes into neutral, rendering of the vehicle in capable of driving until the vehicle comes to a complete stop, is placed in park, ignition shut off and restarted. Then you can operate the vehicle again until the next time it does this, which may be one minute or a week. This is extremely dangerous as it is happening to me going down the highway a couple of times, at which time I have to pull over to the shoulder shut the vehicle off restart the vehicle and then try to pull away. 29 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2013

Went out to start the car on 11/7/13 and could not get the shift out of park. Called the Dodge dealer and he knew exactly what was wrong. Called a tow truck and the owner said that he also knew what was wrong and that his small towing service had towed hundreds of Chrysler / Dodge cars with the same exact problem. I checked on the internet and found hundreds of complaints similar to my problem - cannot get out of park. I also called Chrysler customer service and was told that they knew of the problem, but that my particular vehicle was not covered - only certain VIN's are covered. If there are 100's of cars just in my small location, there must be 1000's, if not tens of thousands affected vehicles nation wide. I will also mention that the manual override for the shifter did not work, so my car had to be dragged onto the tow truck. I feel that this is not only a costly problem for car owners, but a safety issue as well. What if you put the car in park while you were in the middle of traffic and then could not move? I could list other situations as well - all safety issues. I would ask that a total recall of all vehicles effected be issued. Thanks.

1). On 7-31-13, I got into my car and started it in my driveway, the shift knob would not come out of park position. I called aaa to tow it to finnegan Dodge in rosenberg, TX. The dealer replaced shift assembly. Paid $390. 36. Since then, car still will not come out of park to go into gear most of the time. I have to pump brake pedal about 4 to 5 times before it would go into gear. 2). Received airbag recall and called finnegan Dodge, and dropped off vehicle on 6-22-15. Mileage was 82,058. Dealer stated they replaced driver airbag inflater and tested the system. I picked up car on 6-23-15 and the passenger airbag warning light started coming on at any given time whether there was a passenger or not. I did not have these problems until airbag work was done. Called several times and said someone will call back, but never did. I called on 7-24-15, and they scheduled me to bring the car back on 8-5-15. Hopefully, they won't charge me for their mess-up.

34 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2013

Vehicle stuck in park. Vehicle is a 2005 Dodge Magnum sxt. Tow truck operator and auto repair individuals stated that this is due to the transmission shifter interlock lever breaking as it made of plastic. Comments were "this happens all the time in Dodge and chryslers" as "I see this quite frequently". A recall was issued (recall k39) for various years, makes, and models of Dodge and chryslers but not for the 2005 Magnum sxt even thoough recall k39 applies to 2005 Magnum lxs. Why doesn't the recall apply to the 2005 Dodge Magnum sxt when it applies to the same year and make? what criteria is applied for a recall to be issued? is there a certain threshold of incidents or complaints that must be reached prior to a recall being issued? since this defect is so frequent, prevalent, and well known in the auto repair industry why has no action been initiated?.

35 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2013

Daimler issued a satisfaction notification k39 regarding the transmission interlock lever" on Chrysler letterhead it states "the transmission gear shift lever interlock return spring hook may break. A broken interlock return spring hook will result in the inability to move the gear shift lever out of park. As of this morning 06/19/13 @ 1119 (est) I contacted Chrysler @(800)853-1403 and spoke with erin-ep765 regarding this matter. According to erin the recall was VIN specific yet and still thousands of vehicles manufactured by daimler are experiencing the same issues to which daimler has been allowed to minimal to remedy. I executed due diligence and went to a local dealership to purchase the part on Saturday prior to being enlightened and was informed: diamler recalled all the original pink parts internally and forwarded newly constructed parts with better springs. If this is not an admission the product part was faulty and requires recalling, I am unsure how much plainer this needs to be. I also had someone from Dodge inform me, my vehicle has 110k it was bound to happen and should have gone out earlier?! maybe daimler prior to selling their vehicles include a disclosure which says something like: " the parts used to build your vehicle may be defective and should this occur we at daimler will selectively elect which VIN numbers are serviced based on what will satisfy our bottom line and federal guidelines. Should you still choose to purchase this vehicle please sign below" diamler needs to be accountable to correct this problem on all vehicles instead of being sneaky and only addressing what could be considered as a handful in the grand scheme of things. . . . Accountability. If we intently sold anything faulty the charge would be intent to defraud.
