1 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/29/2025

Vehicle engine codes were all corrected properly in hopes of fixing the stalling issues. The vehicle was seemingly better for a few days. Upon driving the vehicle on the highway at normal highway speed, the vehicle suddenly began flickering and shutting off and on. The vehicle would shut off and on rapidly. Each time the vehicle turned back on it would accelerate causing the vehicle to jolt forward and stop rapidly. The car would not allow me to brake safely. The vehicle behind was within inches of a collision but their quick response to slam on their brakes and swerved to the shoulder thankfully missed. This is not an isolated event. Speaking to other hemi 5. 7 vehicle owners this is a very common issue. I had a baby in a carseat in the backseat who was jolted around slamming the back of his head into his car seat. This is so dangerously unsafe. Not dealership can find the problem even after replacing every part possible on these vehicles.

2 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2023

The car won’t go in gear.

3 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2019

My car (2006 Dodge Magnum 5. 7 hemi)was running totally fine. . . . No warnings of any kind. I turned it off to run into the gym and it wouldn't start. A diagnostic test was run and they said the piston blew and it needs a new engine.

4 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/20/2018

Without warning valve ring seat broke off fell into cylinder punching hole in piston. Bought a rebuilt motor for $7,000 and 70k miles later the same thing happens. Both instances the motor was running.

5 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2014

After gas fill up, engine will die when stopping, and die in motion but restart itself, for 5 or 10 miles. This condition is ongoing since March 2014. Condition has also happened randomly on one occasion.

6 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 02/20/2014

After filling the car with gas, exited the gas station and proceeded through a parking lot at 10-15 mph and the engine stumbled followed immediatly by a check oil light (no "check engine" light) and engine stopped running. I coasted to a stop, and attempted to restart the engine; after several attempts it started and I drove home without further incident. This happens regularly if I fill the fuel tank from a nearly empty condition (at on near "e"). The engine will always stumble once before it stops running. As such, I'm relegated to excercising caution after any/all fill-ups (drive around a parking lot for example) and never have kids in the car. Filling the tank from a 1/4 full condition seems to help.

7 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/18/2014

I was driving when suddenly my car felt shaky and rough and started sputtering and losing idle unless I kept my foot on the gas. Car will start up but as soon as I take my foot off the gas it dies. Engine light started blinking. Mechanic stated there is no compression in #4 cylinder of engine. Cost is estimated at $1800 just to tear engine down to further diagnose. Car was running excellently and next second this. No warning. My mileage was only 93899 at time of failure.

8 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2013

I had just picked up the car in question after purchasing at a used car lot then drove it about 20 miles before I stopped for fuel at which time I filled the tank then as I went to pull out into the lane of traffic and began to pick up speed and at about 30 mph the car began stuttering then it died. Luckily it started up before the cars coming hit me. I have since filed it up several times before and realized that it was doing the same thing after each time I filled up , I then began doing some searching on the internet and seen that others were having the same issues so that led me to file this complaint. Can someone please look into this before someone gets seriously hurt?.

9 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/12/2013

At low speeds and stops my car will shut off at random times. Sometimes 3-5 times in as short of a drive as 10 miles, mainly at intersections. Worst incident was pulling away from a stop sign making a left hand turn with a car coming the direction I was turning, I lost engine power as well as power-steering. In all instances I shut car off and restarted and was able to pull away, although in some cases it would not initially engage into drive. I first experienced after putting a full tank of gas in although now it does not matter the fuel level. It has been progressively getting more frequent.

10 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2013

After filling up with gas, upon driving the car will die. At approximately 5mph the car will suddenly die and will not respond. Car will not start until after a few minutes of sitting. No cel lights or codes thrown.

11 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2013

After fill up and not topping off tank car will sputter or even die and have to be restarted several times for the first 10 or so mile. My car has died several times in busy traffic almost causing a rear end collision from cars behind me.

12 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2012

After filling up my fuel tank and driving approximately 1/2 mile, the engine died. Restarted engine and it died again. After the third restart it continued to run. After having this occur approximatey 12-15 times over the next 6 months, I discovered that if I fill it no more than14 gallons maximum, the problem will not occur. The problem is exactly what was reported in pe13016, however I have had the engine die at both low speeds and high speeds (50-65 mph).

13 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2011

Had just filled up with fuel when taking off to cross the street the car died and had to be pushed to the side of the road. After a while it started up but died numerous times then was fine until next fill up. After a few days it started losing power when driving down the road then power came back. . This is unsafe due to the car slows down fast then powers back up.

14 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2011

While driving my Magnum, the engine stopped completely. The car has done this since I have had it. It has been to three Dodge dealerships, costing me hundreds of dollars, and the problem is never fixed. It seems that the car stops mostly when I first drive off in the morning and after filling up with gas.

15 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2011

Engine computer that talks to key to determine "match" dies and shuts off vehicle while driving. Computer had to be replaced. 14000 miles later (two years later) computer that was replaced does the exact same thing and Dodge will not replace as a defective, but rather charging 1200 bucks. Extremely dangerous as it randomly just cuts off engine while driving at any speed and can be rear ended. This is not a part that "wears". And this is not a part that should ever have to be replaced or go bad.

16 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2008

I brought a 2006 Dodge Magnum in March of 2007 with 19,230 miles. The engine is now at 50,000 miles and the engine is no good. The Dodge company can't tell even tell me the problem with the engine.

They sent it to the shop again. . . . . Next day guess what, yes light back on. . They don't have a clue. . . . This is crazy. . . . . Someone messed up. . . . . Need to be corrected. . . . . Not asking for blood, just fix my car. . . . Will this kill my family? who the heck knows!!!! it's a manufacturer problem that needs attention.
