After filling up the car with gas it stalls and you lose steering and brake control, very dangerous and my wife is now scared to drive the car. Stalling went away after an hour trying to get home. Next morning seemed to run fine. Next fill up did the same thing. This problem is going to cause deaths for sure if it has not already. Contacting the dealer ASAP to see if they have others with same issue.

2005 Dodge rt Magnum: right after full-up the car start jerking like if it was trying to cut off, but then smoothed back to normal operation and then started again jerking like if the car was trying to cut off and trying to stay started. After about 10 miles the car running without a problem again.

Just filled up vehicle, was leaving parking lot, and the car stalled. I lost all power steering and brakes, it was very scary. Hard to restart, was afraid to drive it after that. Stalled a couple times subsequently.

Vehicle stalls after re-fuelling.

When driving on a m-39 southfield freeway in michigan on 09sep14, when applying part throttle input, and during a 1-2 shift or 2-3 shift, and during the shift remove my foot from the throttle the vehicle would then stall and the engine would shut off. This happen twice during the course of the trip and both occurrences happen when the vehicle was on a slight grade going up hill and the vehicle was loaded with one driver and some items. The vehicle was typically in the speed range between 18 miles per hour and 22 miles per hour. The vehicle is running calibration id 04896403al.

I keep my car maintience. My Dodge Magnum completely stalled on me and I had to have it towed to my residence. Both fuel injectors went bad and it cost me over $1000 to fix.

Car dies after fill up always.

While driving vehicle car will stall and only give about 5percent power. It can happen anytime has happened multiple times. Dealer had vehicle for a month and cannot determine the issues. I was almost hit by moving vehicles multiple times.

Drove vehicle for about 30 minutes at 70f ambient. Turned off vehicle and was away from it for about 10 minutes. Restarted engine and it had little if any compression and made a bad metal banging sound when started. Engine destroyed. Dealership analysis revealed #3 intake valve seat fell out of head and destroyed #3 piston and cylinder requiring a new engine. Vehicle has 91,000 miles.

On multiple ocassions, during the re-fueling operation up to full level, the vehicle will stall out. No trouble codes are stored. After restart, and while driving away the vehicle may unexpectedly stall-out on one or more ocassions while stopped in gear, or at slow speed or while accelerating from a stop after the refueling has taken place. When the car stalls out while driving, the vehicles behind you do not know that there is a problem with the vehicle and near accidents have occurred. Additionally, if accelerating from a stop, cross traffic also does not know that there was a problem with your car, and near accidents have again almost occurred becuase you have not cleared out of the intersection at the rate/timing that the other driver would have reasonably expected. These unexpected stalls may occur until such time that the car has burned off some fuel by either time or by higher speeds, but even at higher speeds you can still have some hesitation and "surging". Situation occurs after re-fueling up to full level only, and without regard to fuel octane level, whether cold or hot outside temperature or engine condition.

While waiting at a traffic stop the vehicle stalled. Cranked it twice and got it started. On the next light it stalled again when slowing. The gas was at 3/4 full. Next time, my wife and kids were on the freeway when the car stalled when slowing to stop at an exit. Deemed unsafe but realized the it happened after gas was filled or closer to full. Happened a couple more times with the last being on 3/5/14.

I have been experiencing a safety hazard with my 2006 Dodge Magnum rt for several months. When the vehicle is filled up with gas it will stall out when driving down the road. This happens regardless of what speed you are going and occurs every time the car is filled up. I have done extensive research and found that I am not alone with this issue and that the warranty was extended for certain VIN codes through Chrysler. Unfortunately my VIN was not a part of that warranty extension even though I am experiencing the exact issue that this covers. There have been several times where the car has stalled while driving in traffic which could have resulted in a major accident, luckily I was able to avoid any collisions. Maybe next time I won't be so lucky though. . .

Car stalls shortly after filling up.

After fill up, my Magnum begins to jerk and stalled in the intersection. The car was unable to start for 3 min. . After starting and stopping for 15 min it began to operate normal. I notice this only happens during fill ups.

Car stalled while idling in gear, restarted car and it again died after 30 seconds of idling. Restarted once again and car stalled while accelerating at about 15 mph. Stalls frequently happen after refueling.

After filling up with gas, upon driving the car will die. At approximately 5mph the car will suddenly die and will not respond. Car will not start until after a few minutes of sitting. No cel lights or codes thrown.

When car has just been filled up it begins to stall. It will stall pulling out of the gas station. Then it will stall again while driving on the way back to the house turning corners, at stop lights or just driving straight. It does not make any loud noises it just cuts off while driving. It only seems to happen the first day or two after filling up. (I do not drive very far) then it drives normal until the next time the car gets filled up. Then the car will stalls again.

Normal fill up at costco 91 octane - started to drive away the Magnum srt8 stalled and the vehicle behind me leaving the parking lot hit me. Could not get it to run correctly for about 30 minutes. My wife and baby in the car very worried.

Without warning, the car shuts down. This first occurred at a red light. The car just shut off unexpectedly and I was able to turn the key and restart it without problems. The engine shuts off while at a stop, while driving at lower speeds, while driving at high speeds, in town driving, highway driving, when it's hot outside, when it's cool outside, when idling. There are no dashboard lights (engine, oil, etc). There are no sounds, no shuddering, no kicking. My only indication that the car has suddenly turned off is that the tach needle goes immediately to zero. I have been able to use the momentum of the vehicle to pull off the road at which time I turn the key to off, wait a moment, and turn it back on. It restarts without problems. If I try to restart too quickly, there seems to be a hesitation in starting. We have attempted to repair many parts on the vehicle but it has not cured the problem.

Post fill up at local service station engine started cutting out then the check engine light came on. Luckily the wife was close to house and she made it back home. I pulled code p0300 which is a random misfire detected as per Chrysler specs. Verifying all plugs were in good working order by pulling two at a time. I reset the pcm by disconnecting the battery and pulling fuse #11 under the hood. The check engine light turned off and the problem was gone. Since the incident I have felt unsafe putting my wife and kids in the vehicle. Post fill up a week later same thing. I performed the same steps to remedy the problem. I do not feel I have received bad gas as my whole subdivision (2,600 homes) utilizes this local service station. The 2005 Dodge Magnum rt has been pampered and all scheduled maintenance performed.

In April 2013 I took my 05 Magnum to sunset Dodge in sarasota to find out why the car stalls. After 5 months of going back to them and them not being able to find out what was wrong. I stopped filling the car up all the way and the problem stopped. The dealer said it is not our problem. I now find out it was a know issue and many people have the same issue.

2005 Dodge Magnum r/t stalls after refueling car. It will stall without warning serveral times. Took it to our local dealer and they did not have a clue what is wrong as no codes came up. It seems to straighten up after about 5 minutes of driving.

My Dodge Magnum for the last year " total of 4 times" has stalled only after refueling along with the steering wheel locking. There is no warning !. No engine light. ! the car just shuts down . But this last time it almost caused a accident. Too close to a disaster. I had my child in the car . I have read the complaints on this site. And I know I am not the only one this happens to. Why is this not a recall with the Dodge Magnum fuel system? which causes a vapor lock without warning. Does someone have to loose a life to get this addressed ?.

I had stopped in the waco, TX area to fill up with gas on my way to italy, TX. I filled my vehicle up with gas, started it, and was entering in some gps coordinates when the car shuddered and died. This was the first time it happened. Since then it has probably happened 18-24 times, always immediately following a fill up at the gas station. Sometimes it dies in traffic, other times the engine will surge as if I had touched the accelerator pedal while sitting at a red light.

2005 Dodge Magnum se will randomly stall at stop. Currently this year 2014 car is stalling at every stop or idle. It will also randomly shut off on the highway. I have had the throttle body cleaned then replaced along with various sensors and problem still persists. I have taken it to multiply shops and no fix. When the stall occurs no code will come up but I will get the lightening bolt light on dash come on but will go away once the car is off and then turned on. Once car is turned off it will work normal until at stop or sometime on highway again.

I was driving when the vehicle failed to accelerate over 55 mph (sometimes it would not go over 35 mph). The failure resolved temporarily when the vehicle was restarted. When this does occur the electronic throttle position and traction control light both come on and the car revs up loudly until it is shut off. It is dangerous when you are going 65-70 mph on the highway and the car drops down to 35 mph. Now that the weather is colder it happens more often including as soon as you start the car. There also is a lot of shaking while on the highway or while braking. I took the car to a Dodge dealer and they said the suspension is extremely loose, which again is dangerous because the wheel could just fall off. I also have the problem that I cannot get the gear out of park at any point. I did find the recall and called Chrysler, but they say my VIN is not part of the recall (why not? it is the same problem). They notated it, but have not done anything to help me. I have to keep my car in neutral and put the emergency brake on anytime I park. There have been several occasions I cannot park in spots because even with the brake on the car still rolls. I have read several other complaints on here and see these are all common problems and may all have recalls and I feel my car should be included in those.

After filling my car and driving on the 710 freeway, while getting on the freeway the car just stalled. The steering got hard to turn as the vehicle was stalled. I managed to cruise to the side of the road and got the vehicle to start again. While driving it did it 2 more times until my gas started to go down. This happens almost every time I fill up the vehicle.

After filling up with gas the vehicle sputters and/or stalls. This can happen multiple times after one fillup. The vehicle is disabled in traffic and can be difficult to restart. This has happened at least a dozen times now and I am afraid someone could be injured of killed. I rufuse to let my wife drive the vehicle with my kids in the car.
