Coolant Leaking problems of the 1996 Dodge Neon

Three problems related to coolant leaking have been reported for the 1996 Dodge Neon. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Coolant Leaking problem

Failure Date: 05/12/2004

While driving vehicle reached high temperatures due to the engine head gasket failure. This problem causes the engine oil and coolant to leak out of the engine. Also the fan runs erratically and on and off continuesly causing the vehicle engine to stall.

2 Coolant Leaking problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2001

Blown head gasket, causes oil and coolant leaks and overheating. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that vehicle was not covered under a manufacturer's recall, and vehicle was out of it warranty. Feel free to provide any further details on this matter.

3 Coolant Leaking problem

Failure Date: 12/20/1999

Defective design of the engine head gasket caused coolant to leak through the valve cover which could spray into the engine compartment, and start a fire. Dealer said head gasket and valve cover needed to be replaced. Please provide further information.
