My sons had a crash in a 2005 Dodge Neon. They were going approximately 40-45 mph. They hit a mailbox with metal pipes, a parked durango, a parked malibu, decorative rocks in the corner, went airborne and totaled the whole passenger side front end of the car. Neither of the air bags deployed, and the seat belts didn't lock. We bought this card because of the safety features for our teenage son and they did not work.

I have a Dodge Neon 2000. On the morning of January 29, 2004, my airbag signal appeared with a ringing noise for a brief moment. Later that day, the signal began to appear more often when turning my steering wheel. The following morning, I had the dealership to diagnose the problem. I was later informed 5 hours later it was the clockspring and it was not covered under the manufacture nor the extended warranty. The price to fix it would be $389. This is a ripoff. The reason consumers purchase automobiles with airbags is for the extra security. If there was a defect with the seat belts, there would be a recall. Just like seat belts are design for protecting passengers from harm so is the airbags. Thus, clocksprings should be recalled and not put on the expense of the consumer due to the manufacture not providing a more secure part especially when the consumer is still making payments.

I was in a small collision at the speed of 10 mph or less. I rear ended a Ford f150 truck because my brakes skided on the road, my 2003 Neon fishtailed, and I hit the bumper of the truck. My right headlight was smashed, and my radiator was also broken. After 3 minutes my engine caught on fire, and my entire car was engulfed in fire within 5 minutes after the collision. My airbag on both driver and passenger side did not go off, I didn't hit the truck at a highspeed, yet my car went up in flames. Everything in the car was melted, and I think this car is very unsafe. Had I hit a truck or been hit by another large or small car, I hate to wonder what would of happened then. Would I of made it out in time before it caught on fire, or would it blow up on impact?! Neons are not safe, and I think this car will catch on fire at any speed. I have pictures of the car that shows the damage from the collision, and you wouldn't ever think the small damage could catch this car on fire.
No power to radio, lights, locks, sunroof. Non working airbag mosule.
Since owning this car I have had nothing but problems from 0 to 36,000 miles most were minor and were taken care of by the dealer (althoughi had to tell them what was wrong - they replaced the wrong parts the first time!). Unfortunately, most of the problems occured after 36,000 miles were on the odometer and Chrysler has not been too responsive to my requests for assistnace. I have been told by the dealer that my vehicle is out of warranty and that they would be happy to fix it but who wants to pay $75. 00 so that a technician can learn to fix my car. In frustration, I have purchased a shop manual and have started to repair these problems myself. My sun roof needs a 10 cent plastic part which Chrysler does not stock so in order to get it I need a new $500 sunroof mechanism! now, my transmission will not shift properly (in all gears) and I either need to rebuild the transmission, replace the clutch or the clutch cable. If you would like more informatoin on my saga please feel free to call me.
