Brake Electric Antilock Problems of Dodge Neon

While traveling at about 40 mph all of a sudden the brakes locked up and did not operate. Vehicle spinned out the road before coming to a stop. Consumer will contact manufacturer.

Whenever turning or braking vehicle squeaks. Took vehicle to dealer, and they went for a test drive with consumer, and there was no squeaking. Soon as consumer left dealer, squeaking started again. Please provide any further information.

When driving at 20-40 mph consumer applied brakes when vehicle started to decelerate, but vehicle failed to stop in a timely manner, causing consumer to rear end another vehicle. Insurance company informed consumer that there was a recall, 01v154, consumer had not received any recall, insurance company is pursuing the matter with Chrysler.

Vehicle was going 30mph over slightly raised pavement crossing an intersection and rear end started fishtailing as consumer began to brake, there was a crash sound from underneath, and rear end started to go left, vehicle went over curb on opposite side of street, causing vehicle to hit a tree, wheel came off spindle and the axle broke, and the wheel on the right rear came off, Chrysler was not assisting consumer possibly because insurance company had paid consumer. Representative that Chrysler sent has not contacted consumer since vehicle was inspected.

Consumer was traveling 35mph on highway and was turning on a side street, went to apply brakes, and brakes locked up. There was an accident, consumer hit the side of the street.

I brought my car in October of 99 and I've been through 11 brand new tires for some unexplained reason I keep having blowouts all the treads are intact but the sides of the tires end up with chunks missing from them. I was driving in the city doing about 30 when I felt my car pulling away from me and I could barley control it so I pulled over to check it out n there were 2 chunks missing out fot the outer side of the tire from it blowing out and the inner side of the tire looked like someone took a can opener to it. Needless to say the 4 original tires my car came with did the same thing those tires were replace and my tires can only be replaced by good year model p185/60r15 no other tire fits I had 4 tires replaced in mayof 2000 then I replaced another 3 because of the same problem in feb2001 all at my own expense and it is now July and a nother tire blew im sick of it. At first I thought maybe it was just wear and tare but not im starting to wonder 11 tires in less then 2 years something has to be wrong. (tiresize: p185\60r15).

It happens probably 2 times a day. When I am almost stopped from a slow speed pulling in a driveway, it sounds like the abs brakes are going off. They make a funny vibrating noise and the brake pedal goes wacko. It doesn't want to stop. It seems to happen more now than ever before. I took it to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong, yet I know that this is not right. I feel very uncomfortable and scared that one day it really isn't going to stop. Please advise if you have any ideas. Thank you!.

Brakes seemed low and mechanic checked, no repairs. When driving at 30 mph, applied brakes and extended stopping distance occurred, when pumping brakes they get better. Dealer not aware of the problem. Problem still exists. Provide further information.

Vehicle accelerated after letting off gas; driver applied brakes left front side locked up, causing the vehicle to turn over.

When consumer drives vehicle about 20 mph and steps on the brake pedal to stop vehicle, the brakes start making noise like grinding metal to metal. Sometimes she loses control of the vehicle while vehicle it is pulling to the left side. Consumer had repaired the brakes before for this problem. Dealer was contacted.

When the brakes were applied , the pedal went to the floor/ locked up, resulting in extended stopping distance and causing a collision. The dealer and manufacturer have been notified.

Steering: driving approximately 15mph and went over speed bump, steering locked up and could not steer car left or right, struggled to turn left to get back on highway, hit the brakes and the brakes did not work. Hit 3 ton boulder , and car was totaled.

While making lane change, right to left, left front wheel locked up, vehicle skidded, hit curve, no warning, vehicle at dealership.

The brakes are horrible. . Grind as if metal on metal. . Have had them checked by dealer and two other brake specialits. All say brakes work fine. . However grind horribly. . And chirp continuously. . Nobody can figure it out. The paint is another issue. It peels all over including trunk, doors, roof, etc. Seems to be only lapis blue color that does it. I have a list of 12 vehicles in this color that are peeling as well as several photos. Dealer wanted me to pay, even while under warranty. . Phoned daimler Chrysler and it took 4 months of fighting with them to agree to re-paint however they will only re-paint where it is peeling. . Unacceptable, as more paint will continue to peel in other areas. This is a manufacturing defect and should be covered with no questions. . They are well aware of the problem. . The brakes should be fixed also. I did not bought a new car to avoid problems like these. . This car is a lemon and should be recalled. There are so many problems listed on the complaint page for this vehicle. . How long will it be before someone at the NHTSA does something for us??.
