1. Every time I fill up gas spilld out all over! 2. The gear shift pops out of first gear on a regular basis when taking of from a stop. 3. The emergency brake has stopped working at all! I contacted my local dealership with a recall I received on the under body transmission tunnel shield and they have yet to fix the problem say im on the list its been months!.
While filling fuel into the truck the auto stop did not work, the first time it happened my 5 yr old son was washing the windows with my wife and it sprayed fuel on my sons legs and shoes. We figured the pump had a problem. Now it seems to do it every time we fuel the truck . After searching I found its a vent problem with the 2007 Nitro that the dealer knows about, im not happy right now the dealer claims only some vehicles are recalled on this. Should I be looking for legal action next?.
When fueling, the filler nozzle never shuts off. Fuel spews out of the fill neck all over the side of the truck, the ground, and you (if you're standing too close). This has happens every time I've fill the truck. I've tried different gas stations and it happens at every one. This is an environmental problem as well as a safety issue. Based on the research I've conducted, this problem is related to a "rollover" valve. This valve is designed to prevent fuel from flowing out of the fill neck in the event of a rollover accident. This is a huge safety concern, and based on my internet search, this is not an isolated problem. I believe a recall should be issued before someone gets killed.
When filling up with gas, instead of the pump shutting off the flow of gas, a gush of gas comes flowing out and over the side of the vehicle onto the ground. (I would say at least a 2 cups of gas. ) I originally thought it was the pumps fault until it happened two more times at different stations. I am over the three year warranty (however, way under the mileage) and when I called a Chrysler dealership. They will not accept as a warranty issue. I brought up the fact that many people have been experiencing this and I am very surprised that Chrysler has not issued a recall. They sugguested I call Chrysler and deal with them directly and gave me an 800 number. (which I have been on hold for the past 15 minutes!).
This car was in a car accident and they fail to report it. Bought it in mercado motors they said car was fine 2 weeks later car never turn on again.

During refueling, whether manual shutoff or automatic shutoff, fuel overflows from filler neck. This began about 27,000 miles and continues. Spilled fuel on skin is causing irritation. Multiple incidents, search on internet reveals numerous complaints form multiple owners of same safety failure. Significant gasoline spills out, flies onto persons fueling vehicle and ground, causing potential fire hazard. This must be addressed with a recall, dealer claims no knowledge of multiple complaints from consumers and hazard is great.

About 2 months ago when filling my vehicle with gas when the pump shut off it splashed out quite a bit of fuel. I thought ok one time. My vehicle continues to do this now. Because of this I just put in so many gallons of fuel and turn off myself. I called the dealership and they said would have to bring in and pay to have it tested. I have seen online that several people are having the same problem with the Nitro. This is dangerous as it could splash in eyes, etc. If you are not aware of the problem. I would think there would b a recall by now. I have left 3 messages for the dealership to call me to discuss this but no one returns my calls.
After filling up my 2007 Dodge Nitro gas spew out with force on myself and the side of the SUV. When unlocking or locking my vehicle sometime the the cooling fan and radio will turn on. Both of my back windows don't not work.

Gas gets too high in the fill tube and it doesn't shut off making a good amount of gas spill over.
My Nitro spews gas all over when I am filling it too. Talked to dealer, they told me it was the pump. Not the case. This has happened at many, many different pumps. Called Chrysler directly and they threw another story at me that was a total lie. Everytime I fill up if I don't listen close enough it shoots gas out the filler neck and all over the vehicle. This is a serious safety matter that they refuse to address and pay for. I am calling an attorney this week to have them address this. Hopefully Chrysler will absorb all costs. Doubt it but it's worth a try.

Every time I fill up my 2007 Dodge Nitro with gas it overflows causing fuel to be spilled everywhere. Dealership said it must be the pump, but it happens at every pump. The fuel is starting to discolor the paint.
Every time I get fuel the pump will shut off, and then fuel will pour out of the fuel filling area. It.
When filling my 2008 Dodge Nitro and immediately after the pump shuts off automatically, gasoline suddenly spews out of the filler tube. This has happened repeatedly and multiple gas stations over the last few weeks.
Every time I fill up my 2008 Dodge Nitro with gas, it sprays/overflows fuel. I have owned this vehicle for 8 months now, and this has been happening every time I fill up since the beginning. This happens at every gas station and has happened in multiple states. This is a hazard to me, to the people around me, and to the environment. This is a severe fire risk, not to mention the vapors I, and the people around me, inhale each time I need gas. The continued gas spillage has faded the plastic fender flare. This happens if it is filling automatically or if I am holding the handle. The handle clicks off, and after about 1-2 seconds, there is a rush of gas back up toward me. I have been covered on multiple occasions, and there is approximately 2-3 cups of gas spilled onto my vehicle and then onto the ground every time I fill up. This is an extreme hazard which has been caused by faulty manufacturing and should be remedied by the manufacturer either voluntarily or via a recall.
Gas comes shooting out of fuel filler neck when filling up at numerous gas stations.
When fueling, as soon as the fuel nozzle automatically turns off, a significant amount of gasoline "burps" out of the filler neck spilling out with enough pressure to cover the entire side of the vehicle and fuel nozzle handle.
Currently own a 2008 Dodge Nitro. The past 3 times I have filled it with gas, the gas comes back spewing out even though the pump has shut off. This happened at 3 different gas stations and different times of the day. Each time gas got on me and my clothes. Each time my car is covered with gas as well as the ground. This should be considered a recall! this is a pretty serious situation and after doing some research on the internet it has definitely happened to other people with the same car. One little spark could light me and my car on fire as well as a gas station. I have called my dealer and am awaiting resolution.
Gas filler pipes spit out gas when fueling resulting in spillage on vehicle, ground and person pumping gas.

Gas overflow when fueling vehicle, after gas nozzle clicks off, gas pours out of fill tube. 2008 Dodge Nitro, this has happened last 4 fill ups.
Fuel overflows almost every time I fill up. I have noticed that the little flap is now missing from the top of the filler tube.
Gas overflows upon fill up. Has happened each fill for 3 weeks since I bought a used 2008 Dodge Nitro stx.
When putting gas in my 2008 Dodge Nitro at the end of the fill gasoline will erupt from the fill spout and spill over the car and the ground.
Fuel spills out all over the ground when fueling the vehicle. Started about a year ago when mileage was around 47,000. Now at 68,000 it is still doing it. I have to guess when to stop fueling. Please recall this vehicle again. Very dangerous and not good for the environment when fuel spills onto the ground and later enters our bays.
