Brake Disc problems of the 1996 Dodge RAM

Four problems related to brake disc have been reported for the 1996 Dodge RAM. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Disc problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2001

There are problems with front brake discs. When consumer is stopping there is vibration coming from brakes.

2 Brake Disc problem

Failure Date: 10/14/1998

While driving and applying the brakes there is a loud noise and the front brakes pads are gone completely and the rotors are in bad shape. Contacted the manufacturer and they won't fix the vehicle unless the consumer pays for the repairs.

3 Brake Disc problem

Failure Date: 03/24/1996

Disc brakes; the front right side brakes caught fire.

4 Brake Disc problem

Front right brake caliper keeps pulling shortly after replacement. 4 have been replaced. Sometimes a very strong pull where steering is pulled from hands. Especially dangerious when pulling a travel trailer. -- fuel cell has a badly worn sleeve which causes floating suction to hang up causing air suction and running out of fuel at 1/2 tank plus or minus.
