Three problems related to transmission slip out of gear have been reported for the 1997 Dodge RAM. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving 55-60 mph in 5 th gear engine revved, but vehicle started to slow down. Consumer shifted out of gear into neutral, and then tried to shift back, was not able to shift back into gear. Please add further details.
Truck was in park position and the truck slipped out of gear and went forward and went into someones yard. Then the truck finally hit a tree which caused the truck to come to a stop.
Intermittently when accelerating transmission will slipped out of gear. Manufacturer has been notified.
