Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problems of the 1999 Dodge RAM

Three problems related to transmission slip out of gear have been reported for the 1999 Dodge RAM. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem

Failure Date: 03/30/1999

When accelerating to pass another vehicle, transmission jumped out of gear, and did not go into any other gear until the truck slowed down. This could have caused a crash. Truck has been to the dealership numerous times for this problem, but dealer was not able to duplicate the problem. New valve body installed, but problem still exists.

2 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem

When driving over bumps in pavement vehicle jumps out of drive into neutral. Dealer cannot identify cause. Please give any further details.

3 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem

While traveling vehicle would not shift out of first gear to second gear until vehicle reached 25 mph - 30 mph intermittently. Dealer has been contacted.
