Air Bag Not Deploy Problems of Dodge RAM - part 1

Head on collision going 45mph. Car pulled out of intersection into path of our 2010 Dodge dakota and stopped. Applied brakes and hit head on. Driver airbag did not deploy.

The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck. He stated he was involved in a crash while driving 55 mph. The front air bags did not deploy at the time of the impact. While exiting the highway, he attempted to steer to avoid hitting an approaching vehicle but the steering wheel would not respond. The vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier along the highway head-on. Later, he received NHTSA campaign id number 09e001000, steering linkages; however when the dealer was contacted they stated that his VIN was not included. The passenger sustained moderate injuries which include head contusions, several cuts from the glass, neck injuries and cracked ribs. The driver sustained minor injuries to the head. Neither the driver or passenger's side air bag deployed. Repairs were made to the vehicle and covered under his insurance. The failure and current mileages were under 6,400.

The contact owns a 2001 Dodge Ram. While driving approximately 35 mph on normal road conditions, the contact veered off the road to avoid striking a deer. Instead, the vehicle crashed into a tree. The air bags failed to deploy. The police and ambulance were called to the scene and a police report was filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and the front end was completely destroyed. The manufacturer was notified and the insurance company has not yet determined the cause of the air bag failure. The VIN was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 94,000.

The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram. While driving 55 mph, the contact passed out due to a medical condition. As a result, he rear ended a parked vehicle and crossed over the median into the path of oncoming traffic. The air bags failed to deploy and the contact was injured. Both vehicles were destroyed. The police arrived, filed a report, and transported him to the hospital. There is no current mileage because the vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was 60,000.

The brake pedal went to the floor while traveling on the highway. This caused consumer's vehicle to rear end a tractor trailer, lost control of the vehicle, and flipped twice , landing on the shoulder of the highway. Upon impact, both air bags did not deploy. While driving,the consumer tried to avoid another vehicle that was coming inside of the lane. When the consumer applied the brakes, the pedal went to the floor. The consumer was unable to maintain control of the vehicle and hit a guard rail and flipped into a ditch. Both air bags did not deploy. The driver sustained head injuries. While driving at 40 mph an accident occurred, consumer's vehicle hit a tree head on. Upon impact, air bags did not deploy. Contacted the dealer, and was told this was normal, and that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. . . . The other driver, a lady was cited for improper backing out. While driving 70 mph driver fell asleep at the wheel and hit another vehicle that was parked on the side of the shoulder of the highway. Upon impact, both air bags did not deploy. Driver's side seat belt snapped in half. Driver sustained head injuries and was transported by ambulance to a hospital. Vehicle was totaled.

While driving at40 mph another vehicle t-boned consumer's vehicle oon the driver's side. Upon impact, driver's side air bag did not deploy. Driver sustained neck injuries, and was transported by ambulance to the hospital. The vehicle was towed to the dealer.

While driving 70 mph vehicle was involved in a head on collision. Upon impact, dual airbags did not deploy, and passenger sustained lower arm injuries.

While driving at 40 mph vehicle was involved in a head on collision and air bags did not deploy.

When the vehicle was hit on n the front center of driver's side air bag did not deploy. As a result, the consumer sustained minor injuries. Dealer was notified.

While traveling at 50 the right front tire slightly touched the gravel on an uneven parkway, and caused the driver to lose control of vehicle, the vehicle flipped and crashed. Upon impact, the air bags failed to deploy. The passenger was killed. When the tire left the road the consumer turned the wheel back to the left to get the vehicle back onto the road. The vehicle fishtailed in the rear and collided head on into the concrete culvert, flipped end over, and rolled upside down into a ditch. Neither air bag deployed. The consumer was told the size of the wheels should be redesigned due to the chassis. (the change of the center gravity caused the vehicle to be unstable).

On August 30, 2005 the caller's husband was involved in an accident while traveling 25 mph. Upon impact, the airbags did not deploy. The caller's vehicle hit a school bus. There was no indication that the air bag would not deploy. Caller's husband was injured. A police report was taken. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. Caller said a week before the wreck she had the vehicle at the dealer for brakes, she said the brakes locked and the tires made a screeching sound. She did not know if the brakes and the accident were connected. The consumer stated there was another accident prior in which the air bags did not deploy.

Consumer states was turning into oncoming traffic and hit head-on by another vehicle traveling approximately 55mph. Both driver and passenger air bags did not deploy. Ts.

At 25 mph our vehicle t-boned another vehicle traveling approximately 50 mph. The other vehicle is completely totaled, and there is extensive damage to the front end of the truck. The whole front end of the truck is pushed back and shifted to the left side of the vehicle, and the frame of the truck is bent. Despite the major damage, the air bags failed to deploy. Contacted Chrysler and repairs are on hold until investigated. Chrysler refuses to provide any information on the status of the investigation. Dt.

The vehicle was hit at 25 mph in the front center the the air bags did not deploy causing minor injuries to the consumer. The dealer has been dealer notified.

Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision yet the air bags did not deploy. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that they would check into this failure.

Driver's air bag did not deploy, and seat belt came loose in crash.

On the same day as purchase, consumer was involved in a vehicle accident. The vehicle sustained severe damage to the front end and was deemed totaled by the insurance company. Despite the severity of the crash, the airbags failed to deploy.

Consumer states frame of vehicle is broken, and front end of vehicle is smashed. None of the airbags deployed. The air bag did not deploy on impact causing driver to hit windshield and was injured.

Consumer's vehicle was involved in a collision with a trailer at 35 mph. Upon impact, air bags failed to deploy.

At 25mph vehicle crashed, upon impact, airbags did not deploy. Cause unknown. Dealer notified. The sudden impact caused consumer to hit the steering wheel causing contusions to sternum and breast. The seatbelt did not lock. Consumer was to the left side of the steering wheel in between the door and steering wheel.

While driving at 50-55 mph the consumer was involded in a head on collision, and two front air bags did not deploy. Contacted dealer who was not willing to do anything. Consumer states that the vehicle was totaled by insurance company.

While driving 35 mph and without warning, a head-on collision occurred. Upon impact, air bags did not deploy. Consumer states that the accelerator stuck, causing vehicle to rev to 6000 rpms, vehicle hit an embankment and tore down a fence, the left rear seatbelt did not hold one of the passengers, causing injuries, dealer stated the failure was the computer, the manufacturer stated the problem was the floormat, consumer states vehicles rpms still fluctuate too much.

Driver's air bag did not deploy during a car crash.

Vehicle was hit from left side pushing vehicle into concrete barrier head-on and air bags did not deploy. Both driver and passenger sustained some injuries. Consumer received a letter from Chrysler stating that air bags did not deploy because vehicle never reached the level of deceleration requied to activate deployment.

Was driving approimately. 35mph when another vehicle ran stop sign. Other vehicle was "t"-boned by Ram. Upon impact with other vehicle, Ram's air bags failed to deploy. Driver suffered injuries from seat belts. No emergency room treatment. Had police report done. Vehicle totaled by insurance CO.
