Carrier/rack Problems of Dodge RAM

Nhtsa campaign 00v107000; daimler Chrysler issued a trailer hitch bracket recall. The vehicle was not included in the recall, but the trailer hitch has broken off the vehicle.

Dealership failed to install the reinforcement brackets as stated in the trailer hitch recall 00v107000, but told the consumer they did. Upon inspection of the vehicle by the consumer he determined that nothing was installed, and took the vehicle back to the manufacturer, and brought the issue to their attention. Then, dealership replaced the part, but gave no reason why the part wasn't replaced the first time as they had indicated.

Trailer hitch is cracked. If carrying a boat or trailer and it pops off there would be a huge accident. When contacting dealer, he told consumer that vehicle was not covered under recall 00 v 07 000. Please provide any further information.

Consumers had found on a routine check cracks on hitch. Manufacturer said that vehicle was not under warranty, and there was no way to help consumer in this situation. The consumer suggests that the manufacturer conduct inspection on 3500 series vehicles if any other hitch failures other than the one on recall, have occured.

Trailer hitch is cracking/coming apart without been rusted. Dealer agreed to repair vehicle, but they need to adopt a support on bumper, and need to work the pipe. Consumer will be charged for it.

Recall 00v107000/trailer hitch bracket: dealer rfused to honor recall because consumer did not buy the vehicle from them.

Recall 00 v 105 000/trailer hitch bracket: consumer received second notice concerning recall. Dealer (beaman Dodge, murfreesboro, TN; phone# 615/895-5092) refused to honor recalls until consumer agreed to pay cost of removing and replacing double exhaust to complete recall repairs. Asking NHTSA to assist in this matter. Feel free to provide any further details on this matter .

Had noticed bracket was cracked where it attaches the trailer to the hitch. Crack was severe. Owner bought new bracket & replaced the old one. The entire hitch has to be replaced and it is the same hitch that was recalled.

Trailer hitches have a crack. Dealer/mfr. Notified, and willing to replace them. Consumer concern if replacment would be another defective part. Can NHTSA help or provide additional information.

Dealer told consumer it would be at least two months before they could schedule a time to look at vehicle for recall 00v-107, dealer did not bother to inspect for crack while the consumer was there, the consumer lives 125 miles from the dealer. Nlm.

Trailer hitch was cracked and had to be welded back together. Their is a current recall for this problem, this vehicle is not included. Dealer has been contacted.

Consumer took vehicle to have recall 00v-107 of the trailer brackets repair/replaced but the dealer had not parts available. Nlm.

While driving the cable that holds the spare tire in place broke causing the spare tire to come off the truck. Nlm.
