The contact's son-in-law owns a 2004 Dodge Ram. While driving approximately 7 mph and towing a 2004 weekend warrior fifth wheel, the cross member detached from the upright on the trailer hitch. The amount being towed at the time was approximately 14,000 pounds. The failure has not been diagnosed. The VIN and failure mileage were unknown. 4 Equipment problem of the 2002 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 08/08/2005

The contact owns a 1992 haul right 60 boat trailer manufactured by b and m. While traveling 60 mph the tongue broke where it hooks on the truck, causing the boat and the trailer to fall down and hit the pavement. When the boat trailer was inspected it showed additional weakness in the tongue. The consumer product safety commission told the contact to contact NHTSA because the trailer had brake lights. She has tried to contact the boat manufacturer, and could not contact them by phone or letter. They have not gotten a response, and the dealership was out of business.

Trailer hitch broke off while towing a trailer, trailer is well under the towing limits, but the hitch broke any way. Contacted dealer, and the dealer was not willing to do anything.

Failure Date: 11/01/2000

While wheel alignment was done mechanic noticed front rotors were worn down to nothing, metal to metal. Replaced rotors and front disc pads. At this time, rotors need to be replaced again. Ball joints and tires were replaced, consumer states problems with the rear but did not specify, also did not specify types of tires. Vehicle experiencing problems with the transmission. Intake gasket replaced. New carpet in the cab was installed. New bumper and grill was installed. Consumer also states problem with the abs along with the rotors and disc pads.
