2000 Dodge Ram 1500 with a disintegrating dash. We bought it used with a tiny crack in the dash, had no idea it was such a major problem. In a few short months, the dash has started disintegrating before our eyes. Large jagged chunks are breaking off, opening up the whole dash, even around the air bags. I am concerned that if there is a crash, the air bags either wont work or the dash will break off into a million shards and kill us. This is ridiculous! my son actually cut his finger picking up something from the dash the other day!.

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500. The dashboard on my truck is cracking. It's not only cracking it's falling apart. The pieces of dash "sharp plastic" is falling down into where electrical wiring is. Plus these pieces of dashboard is very sharp. This is a safety hazard. This is a serious problem that need to be address. It's been an ongoing problem for sometime since 2006 and continues to get worst.

My 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 has a cracked dash on the top behind the passenger side air bag. After research this is a common problem wit this model. When is Chrysler going recall this? after a broken piece of the dash severs the wires to your airbag? no wonder they are about to go under. . .

2000 Dodge ram my dash has cracked and imploded. Pieces of plastic hit me in the face while I was driving and now my airbag light is on. I had to swerve to the side of the road with blood gushing from head. I'm lucky to be alive.

The dash is caving in my Dodge Ram 1500 pick up, which is causing ac problems, and electrical problems. . . This should be a recall item there are thousands of complaints with the same issue on the internet why isn't Dodge doing something about their manufacturer mistake with the plastic in the dashes, these are not just cracks these dashes are disintegrating before your eyes. . . . .

Dash is cracking on my 2000 Dodge truck 1500 ,would like my dash replaced don't want a hole in my dash causing headlight to go out this could be a safety issue.

My 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 dash has a big hole in it and the rest of the dash is cracking. If it keeps cracking I wont have a dash left. They should be replaced at no cost to us . Someone is going to get hurt and it makes me wonder if the airbags will even work and if they do will pieces of the dash brake off and hit someone in the face. Chrysler should replace the dashes before something like that happens. Im thing about getting a new truck, but if Chrysler doesn't fix the dashes it wont be a Dodge.

2000 Dodge Ram 1500 dash cracking.

I bought my 2000 Dodge ram brand new. About 3 years ago I noticed some small cracks in the dash, then some time last year, the dash started collapsing in huge sections. I then started having electrical problems. I checked with my mechanic and he said it is a result of the sun hitting the wires through the holes in the dash. I then bought a dash cover to stop any further sun damage but continue to have intermittent electrical problems. It has gotten to where it is unsafe to drive.

Dash developed cracks after second year after purchase, one above air bag chamber, and the other above speed meter. ,and eventually fractured into multiple parts during the following years. . Decided to remove it, as parts were falling down into the empty space under the dash top, and making rattling noises. This material is defective. Internet sources, television news broadcasts site thousands across country having same issues. Why has no recall been performed on this defective product? the risks of possible injury, from moisture from leaks or other sources could cause interference with electrical circuits. I will take steps to replace this dash myself, with suitable protection, as the manufacturer has not showed any concern towards its customers, or offered a solution. Buying the same kind of dash, made of the same defective material is not the solution, as many have done this, and have the same issue.

Cracked dash on 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 truck. Cracks started to appear, no accident or abuse. Dash was cleaned periodically with appropriate cleaner, protector. Cracks just started appearing and continue to advance for no apparent reason.

Over time my dashboard has been cracking and now has begun to break apart leaving a large hole in the center of my dashboard.

The dash started cracking on my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 in mid 2005. It was never parked in the sun, so I couldn't figure out why it was cracking. I pointed it out when I took my truck to the dealership for an oil change and was told that it would cost $1400 to replace. I couldn't afford that so just hoped for the best. The cracks continued to spread, and then earlier this year the whole passenger side of the dash caved in. There is a huge hole where the dash used to be. I had no idea this was a chronic problem with this particular truck until I found this website. I believe this is a safety issue as there is now exposed wiring where the dash used to be. Dodge should be held responsible and fix this.

My dashboard also is severely cracking we all know there is a air bag in there and when mine goes off I'm suing the hell out of Dodge. This is a extremely common problem and should be addressed.

Cracked dashboard on passenger side. This seems to be a large complaint from many Dodge owners for 2000 and 2001 Dodge ram's. Although my dash has not yet "sunk in" as others have reported I fear that if the cracks develop further it could damage the wiring and connections below. The current cracks are right above the airbag on the passenger side.

2000 Dodge Ram 1500 truck - cracked dashboard. Talked with local car dealer service department and asked if they had any recalls or if they had heard of any other problems with the dashboards. I was told none that they have heard of and that they could do nothing about the problem because it was out of warranty.

The dashboard has cracked and continues to deteriorate. I'm now losing the bevel as well. I'm concerned about sharp pieces breaking off.
