I took it in to the dealer for passenger air bag recall. I scheduled an appointment 3 days advanced, even though I was there for 5 hours and my truck went in to shop and out right away but was left sitting. At that time I thought it was sitting probably because they where waiting for my new part; I asked if it was done at hour 5 and dealer said they where looking for me for the longest time after I clearly told them I was gonna wait. I was sitting right in front of them for hours and my fear is that dealer never inspected air bag at all. Heres what I got: r26 safety recall r26- passenger airbag inflator (recall) inspect passenger airbag part number and conduct supplemental restraint system test. No further action required. I have a feeling they bs this inspection, I dont trust them as far as I can throw them.
Passenger airbag inflator: took my vehicle (truck) to local (70601) dealer in spring of 2015; was told they had to "order part" & may take a while; have not heard from mark Dodge since & been over a year. Just received 2nd notice of same recall by mail in late March 2016!.
Takata recall I took my vehicle into the Dodge dealership to have the recall replacement of the airbag inflator housing done. The dealership informed me that they could not do the repair due to the condition of my dashboard my dashboard, like most Dodge trucks from the same time period is cracked somewhat severely. This is not due to anything I have done, instead it is due to the plastic selected by Dodge when they built the original dashboards. The dealership did advise that they could replace the dashboard in order to also replace the inflator, unfortunately with labor and material this was going to be a $1600 cost. The dash was not recalled because Dodge considers it a cosmetic issue, now unfortunately it is also a safety issue if it is preventing the repair.

Takata inflator. I received the safety recall notice in the mail sometime in June 2015. As of January 16, 2016, I have not received any more further notice regarding this issue. This defect can pose a serious threat to my family and other people that may be sitting rides in my truck. I do not feel safe riding this truck knowing that the airbag is defected. Airbags are supposed to safe lives, but in its current condition, it poses as a threat. Metal fragments can strike and potentially injure the vehicle occupants, it is like driving with a ticking bomb. When is this issue going to be fixed?.
Recall notice r26/p78 notice. The passenger airbag inflator housing may rupture and result in injury/death during certain crash conditions. Called dealer on October 1, 2015, Dodge Chrysler does not have parts to fix recall.
Takata inflators: we took vehicle to dealer for recall repairs but dealer said we would have to purchase a new dash for about $1,400 to replace the existing cracked dash before they could do the airbag recall work. We cannot afford to spend that much money on a new dashboard so recall work has not been done, therefore, the truck is not safe. We have been told that because of the vehicle's age, no safe replacement dashboards exist. What can we do?.

I have called my local Dodge dealer (all american Dodge midland ,TX) 3 times concerning a safety notice for passenger airbag inflator housing( 2/24/15, 3/31/15, 4/27/15). I have not received a return call or any responce.
I received a recall notice on my Dodge ram for a defective airbag inflator housing. Stated that I need to contact my Dodge dealer on February 23. I have called 3 times since this date and am told the dealer does not have the parts to repair this. It has been 6 weeks now. Why has a recall been issued if no parts are available? I have done what I was instructed to do to resolve this issue but the issue is still unresolved. I was told by the dealer also that my name was put on a list and when they get more of these issues they will call all in at one time. Not what I want to hear with a safety issue at hand. Lets hope no injuries occur before this is repaired.
Takata recall I received my first recall notice in February 2015 and received three notices before I could get an appointment with air bag inflator in stock. I drove about 80 miles to the dealer only to be told they no longer had them in stock and they had written my phone number wrong so that was a wasted trip. Then I finally got another appointment and after being at the dealer about 30 minutes and was told they did not have the inflator for my truck and none had been released yet that fit my truck. That was another 160 mile round trip wasted. This has been over a year of waiting to have my vehicle repaired. When are the inflators for a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 going to be available?.
