1 Defogger Heater problem of the 2006 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 11/22/2010

The recirculation door broke for the heater and air conditioning. This problem causes a low flow rate because the door blocks the fan opening, which leads to fogged windows and snow buildup on the windshield. Dodge is aware of the problem and has reengineering the door assembly, but is not fixing vehicles with the problem if the vehicle is out of warranty, instead they are charging customers for the parts and labor to fix the problem. This is an obvious defect, but Dodge is not repairing vehicles with the problem, instead they are charging customers for their mistake. My truck is a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 with only 35,000+ miles on it, but outside of Dodge's 3 yr or 36,000 mile warranty. Please make them recall this issue. 2 Defogger Heater problem of the 1999 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 05/13/2006

: the contact stated there was an odor of anti-freeze present in the vehicle a few days after the date of purchase. Two days ago anti-freeze leaked through the heater vents in the floor of the vehicle and the windows fogged after the engine warmed for a few minutes. There were no other warning indicators, other than the odor, prior to the failure. The contact inspected the engine and discovered the heater core was ruptured. A hose was attached to bypass the heater core and the vehicle was not inspected by a dealer.

3 Defogger Heater problem of the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 01/27/2006

Heater core fails on cooling line fitting coming out of it. This causes leakage and due to hvac design and newness of make it is only possible to get the part from the dealer and the part itself is cheaply manufactured and appears to be cheaply designed. When it does finally fail at the fitting one will run the defroster and the windows will milk over in cold weather causing severe visibility problems. Not to mention one is breathing in gaseous hot coolant that Dodge uses which itself breaks down into an acid in open air at high temperatures.
